St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church

Great parish in the West U area. They just hit 75 years. Very active, lots of mass times, and long periods of adoration available during the week. If you’re inside the loop and looking for an active parish, check them out.

My parish church for over 20 years. I appreciate the stark simplicity of the space. Monsignor Jamail was the best & remains dearly missed. Usually I go to the 6:45 AM sunrise mass. Confession is usually not too crowded. A beacon of faith during troubling times.

I went to a Life-​teen service. My overall experience at this church was decent. I will cover specific pros and cons in particular areas.
Music: While the music was alright, I feel that it needed a bit more oomph. There weren’t enough electric guitars. The band didn’t even have a sax player! Also, the singers were too traditional. I know it’s church and all but they need to get with the times. Talk boxes should be a standard by now. God can be hip too. ⁴⁄₁₀
Homily: BOORING. The whole thing was about Jesus. We already know about Jesus. I wish the pastor would have spoken with more conviction or at least related the readings to sports. ⁴⁄₁₀
Feeling: I kind of felt the warm glows I usually feel when I’m at church but not as much as I do when I attend Lakewood. ⁶⁄₁₀
