Very expensive when compared to my usual place total wine and more staff very helpful, discounts for using cash or debit around 5%. pretty good selection but won’t be back sad I cheated on total wine and more

I do find recently the staff is a bit TOO friendly… Always asking you if you need help and if you say yes you usually get steered immediately to their «specs key special» which they usually try to convince you is some ultra premium liquor that they just happened to get a deal on. Normally is a somewhat ok «well» liquor but nothing more

Specs is a great place to buy liquor and beer. I don’t drink wine so I can’t speak for their wine selection. They have the best beer selection in the area, and of course a great liquor selection.
I love that you can check
to see if they carry a certain item. You can also call and ask because they have a great computerized inventory so they can tell you very quickly if something is in stock or not.
It’s not useful or fair to compare this location to the Smith St location. I go here because I live in Clear Lake and I like low prices. If I want something rare, then I’ll drive to the Smith St location.

One of the Spec’s stores that has food, humidor, and a wide selection of wines/​beer/​liquors. The staff are really great and very knowledgable about their areas in the store. It is, by far, not as large as the downtown Houston location but still has the biggest portion of your needs.
Anytime I’m near this store I stop in for something. I highly suggest it if your in the area.

Next to the Downtown Specs this location has to be my favorite. This is a pretty big store. They have a really large selection of Beer, wine and Liquor. The staff in the beer area was very helpful and knowledgeable especially. I was able to find several beers I had been searching for. They also have gourmet foods, coffees, glassware, cheese, and more. I have to mention also that the prices are great as long as you pay debit or cash. You can search online at their website before hand to see if they have what you are looking for in stock which is a big plus.

This is the best Spec’s in the Clear Lake area as far as selection goes. While it can’t compare to the Smith St. location, this Spec’s tends to have a pretty great beer selection compared to the other Spec’s in the area (such as the Seabrook or Kemah locations).
The staff seem to be pretty helpful, and if I’m ever standing in front of the large beer wall or in front of a row of wine, someone always seems to come over to see if they can help me find something.
I’ve never tried any of the sandwiches offered at the deli, but after seeing it mentioned so highly in some of these other reviews, I’m going to have to try one next time I need some booze.

The Spec’s on Bay Area is a very large store. Each time I have been I have had someone offer to find what I was looking for. For example, when I once came in looking for Pumpkinator (St. Arnold’s seasonal beer that is very hard to come by!) they searched the back room for me and found one that was left. They even offered to call other stores and have them hold it for me.
The store itself is clean. They also have a deli at this location — try one of the sandwiches! The only downside is that it’s nowhere near as big/​cool/​nice as the Spec’s downtown, but for the Clear Lake area it’ll definitely do!

The liquor and wine selection is great but they aren’t the star of the show! The deli is AWESOME! Super delicious sandwiches made fresh when you order. I’m torn between the big john and the club. But i love the ruben and pastrami too! Try this deli out! It’s the best kept secret in clear lake.

Meh. That sums it up. Yes, they have a pretty good selection of alcohol. But heck, I can get what I need elsewhere. So what would set themselves apart? What would make me choose to come here over any other liquor store in the area? Great customer service! Sadly, they don’t seem to offer that here.
So if I can buy the same alcohol elsewhere, and get it for the same price, or cheaper, and maybe even with a smile and a helpful attitude, why would I come here? Yeah. Exactly. I won’t.

Rude employees. How rude? RUDE.
Unhelpful employees. How unhelpful? VERY.
Selection? Hit or miss. It is not the size of the Warehouse on Smith so of course some things are going to be limited. But some very typical, non-​weird things are unavailable and that is just weird.
The same cashier can card you three times in one week and yet she still examines the driver’s license like you are a criminal mastermind who can forge *pretty good* IDs but there is one glaring error that she is going to catch and turn you into the authorities so she can receive her just desserts (oh wait, she just ate four desserts instead while she is on the clock and supposed to be ringing up people but she is just sitting there eating and texting on her phone while some other clerk is stuck ringing up people as the lines grows and grows and grows.)
They are right next to Taco Bell — if you want to have a Tex Mex night, stop and get some tequila for a margarita at home in your blender. But get the mix elsewhere — the mark up on non-​alcoholic things in the store is outrageous. Price gouging!

Specs is the cheapest place ever to get some great liquor. I have lived in h-​town for less than a year and i have been there at least 5 or more times and will continue to go since they are right up the street from my home. The service is amazing and they help me find different mixes and give me tips on how other drinks.

When in move last summer from New York to Houston, I was concerned that I wont be able to get my Skinny Girls anymore and then someone told me to try Specs, they have everything, so I did. They not only have Skinny Girl, they have Carib beer and Shandy from Trinidad & Tobago (my home land). And they have a modest selection of gourmet foods — foie gras pâté and escargot with the shells and bowls and the duck confit in the freezer. I have always wanted to try escargot, but have not accrued enough courage to try it yet. I am still working on my gag reflexes. lol!
Anyway, I have been to only this Specs about 4 times and the only thing I don’t like is the discount if you use cash — big deal.
I will try to visit the mother load Specs in downtown Houston when I am able to get up off my desk chair and take a short drive through the city.

I love this store! Liquor has always been a HUGE part of my life and this store has it all. I really like the cigar selection. Knowledgeable staff that will help you with any booze selection…

Spec’s has been my favorite liquor store every since I could legally buy the stuff. This location is definitely the largest store of its kind in the area and they have a great selection. I’m probably most impressed with their beer selection. You can pick up a six pack from countries all over the world and if you’re feeling more adventurous, you can pick up some single beers and make a really amazing six pack of your own.
Spec’s has a deli with great sandwiches and also has a nice selection of local and imported foods and cheeses. I bought a yummy block of habanero cheddar and some herb goat cheese for a lot cheaper than any of the area grocery stores.
Great prices and a very helpful staff make Spec’s a great place to shop for more than just liquor.
