I used to drive by and I will see no cars, so one day I gave it a chance, and when I ordered smothered chicken and pork chops it was delicious! I went everday to order something… They gumbo is gooooood! Yummmy to my tummy

I was not sure about this place at first but overall it’s been pretty great. The oxtail is fall off the bone good, they cook it long and slow and you can tell. It’s very good over mash potatoes and gravy. The chicken tenders are great, they make them to order. The ones i have had have never been greasy, they’re just so flavorful. You gotta pay a little extra for Mac n cheese for but its worth it! I love their collar greens also, they are some of the best I’ve ever had. Pretty much all of the sides are good, the corn is nice and buttery, the green beans have bacon in them! Oh! The jalapeño cornbread is great too! I haven’t had anything that I haven’t liked from Catherine’s. I’ve only ever visited this place for lunch, and it’s always been pretty quick. We were able to walk in, order, eat, and get back to work within one hour.

I do not under stand why their stars are low. They have yummy food at a great price. The fried ribs and banana pudding is my favorite. They Also have a drive through. The best side is the red beans.
Try it. You will love it.

Food was to salt but the place was clean and nice will not come back customers was not all that great dressing was to hard and black looking pork chops was to thin my wife mac and cheese was to salty

The things that I like here are the fish basket, Mac&cheese, & yams so far… I tried the gravy but to me it lacks depth.

Been to this spot 2x and I’ve been very disappointed each time. Tried something on there menu that was called «Soul in a Bowl» which was red beans, with sausage. There was no form of SOUL in there! It was more like beans out the can :(
On my second attempt of going back there I tried the gumbo. The roux taste burned And the shrimp was itty bitty. I should have known the food wasn’t up to par cause the times I went I would ask the workers there about the food and they would put this look on there face. I tried to give this spot a chance but it needs more soul!

Had smothered chicken, macaroni and cheese and yams. Cornbread was sweet. But good. I rarely eat anybodys sweet cornbread. Yams were great. Macaroni had too much processed cheese for my tastes but it was homemade.
Gravy on chicken was excellent. Great flavor. I expected it to be served over a bed of rice but «smothered chicken «means different things. Huge portions. I will be going back and trying more items soon. I could eat those yams every day.

This place was a waste of my time on both trips… The food was «NOT» what I expected. Tried the fish dinner and the Gumbo, both were disappointing. The fish dinner is served with some box cornbread. The fish was some type of cheap mushy fish and the Gumbo definitely missed the mark. The presentation of the food was disappointing as well. I ordered through the drive-​thru and didn’t receive any eating utensils on both trips. Catherine’s Soul Food didn’t meet my expectations and wasn’t pleasing to me at all!!!

Ordered the smothered chicken with rice, greens and yams. It was so much food that I needed a to go box. The good tasted great– the greens were like mommas. Didn’t care for the cornbread that day.
The place was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. They are a new restaurant. Hope they succeed.
