My friend who’s basically addicted to chocolate asked if we could check the place out, and since I’m always down to try out a new place in Houston, I was pretty excited myself! From research I did beforehand, I found out Slik was an international company. When you walk in, you can tell by the décor that the place is Middle Eastern. The music reminds me of the days in college I would spend at random hookah bars. There aren’t many items on the menu, so it shouldn’t take you that long to decide. There are waffles, crepes, waffles on a stick, and some fruit assortments that come with a fondue chocolate thing. Plus a few more things. And then there are a bunch of different candy chocolates that I wasn’t able to try. I got the triple chocolate crêpe with bananas(adding fruit is an extra $ 1.50) and a friend got the chocolate waffle(which is basically topped with the same three chocolates as my crêpe plus a scoop of ice cream on top). The crêpe was good and the chocolate was soooo good. The aesthetics also don’t hurt(especially if you take pictures of all your food, like me). Pricewise, the place is not expensive at all. I’d say the food is well worth the money we paid. I asked the lady that worked there for 2 glasses of water, but they only offer bottled water(obviously so they can make money off of it), which kind of made me mad, but whatever. The chocolate was so good that I didn’t care. Plus I had my own bottle of water in my car anyways(which I quickly ran to get as soon as my crêpe was done… all that sugar had a girl thirsty). I’ll probably be back again with some of my friends that crave sugar a lot more than I do. Or if I’m in the mood for a crêpe with some deliciously melted, creamy chocolate…

Hands down, the best crêpe I have ever had in my entire life! It makes me want to go back and visit Houston just thinking about how amazing the Triple Chocolate Crêpe was! It was so rich, tasty, and surprisingly very light. The atmosphere was also nice and inviting. I’m getting really hungry just thinking about this delightful place!

This place is SO good! Mostly Arabs in here since the place is Syrian owned, making the atmosphere very inviting. The chocolate doesn’t taste fake or syrupy; it tastes like pure melted chocolate – because it is! I recommend that everyone come here for sure:)

CHOCOLATEWAFFLEWITH A SCOOPOFVANILLAICECREAM = HEAVEN customer service could be better, but if getting my chocolate fix means dealing with somewhat rude workers, I’ll do it!

It was my first time here, but I have to say right off the bat that this restaurant was amazing. The customer service was great, and they offered a variety of desserts. We chose the fondue, and it arrived at our table in less than ten minutes. The fruit was fresh, and the chocolate was so good. It might seem a tad bit pricy at first but it’s worth it.

Triple chocolate crêpe. Wow … Just wow. Had crepes had many places but this one is probably the best. The tri chocolate syrup is from another world. Ended up ordering two and one to go.

My boyfriend and I run around the corner almost every other week to split their chocolate crêpe. I swear they sprinkle magic in their chocolate:-) These crepes are as smooth as silk, melt in your mouth, and the chocolate poured on top just may be the richest grade of chocolate I’ve ever had. Plus, they stay open later on Fridays and Saturdays. I believe we’ve swung by there quite a few times on a Friday night past 10pm and they were open with a lively crowd every time. Outdoor seating was pleasantly packed with nice outdoor heaters. The décor inside is modern and swanky. they have tables & chairs for seating, as well as sofas for lounging, in addition to 2TV’s on the walls and fun music playing. Great for a romantic dessert, picking up treats for that special occasion, or just any time at all! I love this hidden jewel and so happy this place is in my neighborhood!

I am usually not a chocolate kind of person when it comes to sweets but this place changed it for me. I like going to a place that has something to offer that I wouldn’t usually go for and changing my stance on it. The slik fruit waffle was delicious. They are not stingy with their fruit, and the strawberries they have are huge! The triple chocolate crêpe was without a doubt my favorite. At first you think it is too much chocolate to eat at once, but the blend of the milk, white, and dark blended very well. Last but not least the slik fruit boat. Again the fruit is huge and they give you plenty for two on the smallest order. Everything is reasonably priced, nice and clean place, chill environment, and the workers there were nice. I’ll be back soon!

Wow, I am so impressed with the owner at this place. He reached out to me after seeing my review and invited me back for some of their delicious sweets. He was very kind and most importantly sincerely didn’t seem to know why the employees working that night closed up early. I will definitely be coming back. Well, thank you SLIK for making my night so satisfying :)

This place was good. I went at about 2 pm on a Saturday and it was quiet. I got the crepes. So much chocolate! It tasted like good quality chocolate. The presentation was so beautiful. I would for sure come here again.

I love chocolate and I read on Unilocal that the lattes were great! So I wanted to try. Walking up the place looks very nice. And walking in the place it smelled even better. And I read that they’re customer service was great… But when my husband and I walked in we were not greeted at all. As a matter of fact they seemed to be bothered that we were there. When I walked up to the counter nobody came to ask me how they could help me or what I might be looking for… I just felt completely unwelcome. So I didn’t order anything. I thought that maybe I was imagining things but when I asked my husband he agreed with me. It was awful. I can’t comment on there chocolate since I didn’t try. It smelled good. But as far as their customer service. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had…

Okay this place is fantastic! I’m a huge chocolate person– and I can’t really have dessert unless it’s something chicolate related so I’m glad I found this place! The triple chocolate crêpe was fantastic! Absolutely loved it– and it doesn’t just taste like a crêpe with plain nutella filling like other places. I really loved it– can’t wait to go back!

Oh how I love family owned businesses. Chocolate lovers beware, this place specializes in a variety of chocolate products that will make you forget Godiva exists. Slik Chocolate is one of the newer places in town and it’s here to stay! It’s a nice family oriented café/dessert place owned by a friendly local Syrian family. They have a variety of options presented so beautifully that you can’t help taking a picture! What I loved: There is a variety of seating options(outside, inside, couches) Everything is fresh! They have reasonably priced coffee(one of the few establishments that have turkish coffee) Service is outstanding! Fancy silverware~ The actual chocolate is high quality and prices reflect that~ lol It’s a nice, casual and family friendly place in the Galleria area! Oh and the summer hours are the bomb, they are open until one am. at least on the weekends!

Wow that triple chocolate crêpe — simply amazing. I came with some friends after eating across the street and shared the triple chocolate crêpe. It was actually the silkiest, richest, most decadent crêpe I have ever had. I also tried their sample milk chocolate, which was pretty good. I really wanted to buy some dark chocolate to go($ 30-$ 35/pound) but they were having a crisis with the register and after 10 min waiting, we ended up leaving. But if I were ever craving chocolate, the triple chocolate crêpe is for sure what I would get!

Walking into Slik and seeing the three chocolate fountains lusciously flowing with milk, dark, and white chocolate immediately made the chocoholic in me giddy. The triple chocolate crêpe was one of the best desserts I’ve had in a while, and for $ 7, it’s quite a good deal. It’s the perfect size to share among two to three people. The entire surface of the folded crêpe is covered by a layer of warm, melted chocolate, and the beautiful ripple design made for an impressive presentation. The shop sells a wide variety of fancy chocolates, most for $ 30 — $ 35 per pound, which, on average, comes out to under $ 2 a piece. The service is friendly, if a little slow, and there were small samples available for customers to try. The shop is located in a strip mall, so parking is readily available.

If you die and want to go to chocolate heaven then here is where you might end up. Once you step inside you’d flash a thought that you have entered some kind of jewelry store in the Galleria. You’ll notice the hard floor which resembles a light italian yellow marble but most likely just an expensive high end tile laid down. The presentation of the products on the menu as ell as the execution to your table is flawless in a sense that would even make Willy Wonka proud. The customer service from our Syrian friends here is very friendly. Non discriminate they are customer oriented and do not say anything to make you feel that they’re product is any better than anybody elses except that you just only need to give them a try. I don’t understand why most of these dessert places do not have milk to buy and consume I mean who doesn’t like a glass/jug/serving of milk to accompany their sweetness? Well, to the side there is a small refrigerator with other types of beverages, pick your poison. I ordered the fruit crêpe which I chose banana and strawberry as the fruits. When it came to the table it was drizzled very artfully with caramel and chocolate zig zag that made you not want to destroy the work of art but once the scent hits your nostrils you’ve already jabbed your fork into it. The crepes here are freshly made of course, five star flavor and consistency. Just a little weird side not you won’t find any silverware hut the plastic wear is second best. It’s not your cheap plastic fork or knife that breaks off after about a pound of pressure but the real shiny chrome looking ones that are pretty thick and do their job. You’ll find this off of Westheimer kind of next to where Houston’s used to be(it changed name but I don’t know what it is now).

My friend discovered this chocolate shop and couldn’t wait to tell me about it because: 1. I love sweets 2. He knew about a new business opening before me. Except he insisted it was Silk, not Slik, until I pulled up the Unilocal page and forced him to admit he’s dyslexic. Sorry, dyslexia is nothing to joke about. He is just a FOB. They serve crepes and waffles loaded with chocolate. There is also a chocolate fountain, which is always fun. We were too full from lunch to have a full sized dessert, so little pieces of chocolate were perfect. My friend recommended the cheesecake chocolate he tried last time, and I was delighted. «They have CHEESECAKE chocolate?!» The owner interrupts, «No.» “What? You don’t have it?” «No.» “But it’s right there-labeled cheesecake milk chocolate!” «No.» Why is this happening? He spoke politely, but he was blatantly lying. Then the same thing happened when I asked about the mango chocolate. «No. Mango chocolate.» I think«no» in Arabic actually means yes. Anyway, I picked an assortment to fill my box– mango, blueberry, cheesecake, hazelnut, Oreo, and crispy rice. I stuck with milk or white chocolate, but there are many dark chocolate options as well. It is priced by weight, a very reasonable $ 7 for 6 pieces. I was happy with the quality, and it did taste silky smooth, to my friend’s credit. They also have traditional treats like baklava and other nutty stuff. The door to the female rest room has no lock. I didn’t think it was a big deal because there wasn’t a single other female around. As we were leaving, an entire family emerged from the back room. Do those kids know how lucky they are that their parents OWN A CHOCOLATESHOP? They’re living my childhood dream.

Found this gem on Unilocal and had to come see for myself. I came in right before closing on a Tuesday night and the owner graciously took my order for a triple chocolate crêpe with bananas. The crêpe came out in just a matter of minutes looking too pretty to eat! The chocolate flavor was just right, not too rich or sweet and very creamy. Crêpe can also be ordered with caramel, triple fruit or savory fettuccine sauce. My friends got a triple chocolate waffle which was also delicious. Waffles was cooked just right, not crispy, served with the creamy drizzled chcolate on top. The store was well lite and inviting. They had a huge variety of chocolates by the pound, chcolate fondue, and waffles. Definitely a must try, just outside the loop in a strip close to fountain view and westheimer. I’ll definitely be back!
