If you are looking for sadness on draft then Shucker’s Sports Bar is the place for you. Otherwise, if you really must do a sports bar, Champs is within driving distance.

Considering that the hubs works at the mall, I end up here pretty often to escape the maddening crowd of people in the food court. It is definitely worth the little bump in price point just to actually sit in peace and enjoy your meal for an hour. Shucker’s is a bar in the mall connected to a hotel. That makes it a little odder than most places you’ll go for a meal since it seems to have somewhat of an identity crisis. You feel sport bar in the actual establishment, but the restrooms are clearly 100% hotel. It makes for interesting times. The food here is nothing amazing, but it always hits the spot and the portion size is ridiculous. We generally go for the nachos, split them and leave half it on the plate because there’s just no way to finish them. They never disappoint and there’s always plenty of meat on the plate – no skimping! The beers are a bit overpriced, but considering that you’re in a mall bar AND a hotel bar at the same time, I can’t complain too much. The service is nothing spectacular, but at least the food comes out quickly. I found myself here a lot during the World Cup and enjoyed watching the games while eating decent food and drinking a cold beer. Only during major games are they full to the brim and I’ve almost always found seating to be plentiful. When you’re in the Galleria and need a food fix, you have a few options: 1) food court madness with screaming children 2) higher end dining(Oceanaire, Del Frisco’s, Kona Grill, Mariposa, and Gigi’s) 3) the in between(Daily Grill, Shucker’s). I tend to go for option 3 so I alternate between the two restaurants for food that is just okay, but provides me a safe sanctuary in the mall on a Saturday which makes it all worth the while.

This place is actually pretty decent for a sports bar. Never too crowded, always a place to sit w a tv in plain site.(Thumbs up for that). Typical drinks and not cheap. A long island cost 8 bucks, worth it in taste but not in size(I threw back 3 of those suckers). A bud light was 5 bucks. Didn’t order any food but a guy next to us order a grilled chicken salad and it was huge! They offer different(free) options to munch on while drinking, I was on the popcorn. I could see myself going back, its a cool place to chill, catch a game, and have a drink… or few… then back to shopping in the Galleria(where its located).

Decent place to watch football or basketball games. Love the couch in front of the big screen! They have fresh popcorn on all the tables and the service is pretty good. The food quality is much better than your average sports bar. The only downside is you have to park in the Galleria madness and walk through the mall to get to the place.

I’ve been here about 3 times now and am a fan. The gf and I have been going to the Galleria lately to prepare for the upcoming gift giving season. After a short period of time, it’s easy to get annoyed with the crowds. So, how does one cope? One goes to Shuckers for some food, beers, and football games. There are quite a few TV’s in the place and they typically have the good games on. The first time we went, the service was pretty crap. The next 2 times were much better experiences. Our servers were money. The food isn’t too for bar food. We’ve had the boiled shrimp appetizer and the nachos. The shrimp was tasty but just messing since they haven’t been pealed and they were boiled in Cajun seasoning but still worth the work. The nachos were made with the cheese sauce which is a nice change. They’re by no means gourmet, but just good stuff to munch on. The prices are a bit steep for certain items. I usually just get the tall boys of Bud Light and they’re moderately priced. My gf has some Mexican in her and loves the tequila. A shot of Cuervo Gold runs about $ 8! The food prices are typical. I would never come to this place if I wasn’t already at the Galleria. It’s just a good spot to take a break from shopping and drink while watching sports then go back to it with the edge off.

My work colleagues and I found our way here after checking into the Double Tree and spending some time walking through the Galleria. Earlier that evening, our Southwest flight back home to the Bay Area had been cancelled(due to snow) and all we wanted to do was may tomorrow come sooner so that we could go home. Shucker’s Sports Bar is a comfortable little sports bar in the Galleria and attached to the Westin. We settled into a comfy chair and sofa and enjoyed the Central Michigan Vs. Ohio football game while drinking Shock Top beers in large glasses and munching on popcorn. They also have a decent food menu and a nice relaxed vibe for us to hang out and talk about lots of interesting things that we previously didn’t know about each other.

Cute sports bar in the Galleria. They have a sofa and coffee table in front of one of the flat screen TV’s which makes it just like home. There was a popcorn maker popping away so I believe they have free popcorn to munch on too.
