God I miss Shipley’s Donuts! I live in Oklahoma now and we have nothing. I’m so jealous of my fellow Houstonians who can just drive up the road and get some. I’ve been eating Shipley’s since I was 4 years old. I’m 52 now and there are no donuts that compare to Shipley’s.

Has a mom n’ pop feel, tasted just like one. Toppings and glaze is simple. Has a lot of different variety. Half dozen about 5.50 and a couple dollars more for 7 something is 1 dozen. The dough at Shipley’s is great. Perfect fluffiness, one bite your teeth melt into the donut and breaks off a perfect indentation of your teeth from where you bit off. The variety they have makes it hard to choose. The cherry and strawberry blazed w/sprinkles were on point.

I’m not a die-hard Shipley’s fan, but I stopped by for a quick breakfast. I’ve always been satisfied with the donuts. Tasty, but nothing amazing. However, the kolaches were a lot better than I remembered! There was a very long line when I arrived but it moved incredibly quickly. These employees were very efficient!

3 Stars for Shipleys donuts cause of in my past of eating them and always being satisfied. But now that I have allergies to wheat. I can’t go there anymore. I would love if they have a gluten free donut alternative for a more healthy alternative at least.

On Sunday mornings this place is packed. I got here around 11 and there wasn’t anywhere to park. Taking the drive thru will be a little bit of a wait but definitely worth it. The lady working at the window is such a sweet woman. The price for donuts really isn’t too bad either. The donuts themselves are fairly good. I’m not quite sure what the hype is about because they’re not absolutely mouthwatering amazing but they are tasty so I’ll of course be back. Warmed them up in the microwave for 7 seconds and they are yummy. I highly recommend:)

Great tasting donuts! Warm and soft pillows in the morning that put Krispy Kreme to shame… drive thru is slow though… expedite better and I’ll change it to 5 stars. No free donut on National Donut Day?

Shipley’s serves decent doughnuts and kolaches at a reasonable price. I honestly do not understand any of the hype about Shipley’s, because it just seems like a normal doughnut to me. Also the coffee here come out extremely hot, so by the time it is cool enough to drink, you’ve probably finished all your doughnuts. I do enjoy their jalapeño cheddar kolaches and cake doughnuts, so I would recommend those if you ever end up here.

Very good donuts, not the cleanest place but the donuts are very good. If you can get them hot they are even better!

Shipley’s is amazing. They have the second best doughnuts in Houston, second to River Oaks Doughnuts. They have such a great selection and every color frosting. I love their cherry yeast doughnut with sprinkles. My school has advisory every Thursday and most people drink snacks on that day. Out of everything you could bring, everyone ALWAYS brings Shipley’s! It is such a great way to start the day and they are so delicious. My friend brought cherry iced with sprinkles, chocolate iced with sprinkles, and regular glazed. They also have things like fritters, cinnamon rolls, and muffins. They have really good kolaches that I order a lot. The best is sausage and cheese. They are pretty big but they are great. The line for Shipley’s is always big in the weekends and they sometimes run out. I recommend going early if you have a bunch to get but it is also great to go in and get a few!

I’ve been eating these since I was a boy and they’re always the same — warm and delicious. Had to stop coming here as often as I’ve gotten older and fatter, but it’s nice once in a while!

Oh my goodness, if you have never had a Shipleys Do-nut(not doughnut) or are in Houston visiting you need to take the time to go there. My hubby and I travel on food crawls and this is the best do-nut hands down. The favorite is the devils food. I am not even sure words can describe this cake like, filled explosion of heaven. Yes they are that good. Also as something different try a kolaches with cheese. This was new to us and pretty interesting and tasty. A MUSTDO-NUT in Houston hands down.

This is one of 2 locations that is closest to me, but it is my favorite. They are always quick and the location is really clean. Plus the donuts are amazing in my opinion.

On my recent Shipley’s tour around Houston, this was my first stop and the closest location to my house. It’s a stand alone building with lots of seating inside. The parking lot is huge and I can get there in less than 5 minutes. All pluses in my book.

We tried Shipley’s for the first time this morning and were happy with the experience. All the donuts we got were tasty and fresh. Everyone was happy. My only complaint is the complete lack of butter cream donuts. Butter cream donuts are my favorite and I was pretty disappointed to not at least see it on the menu. Oh well though, we will be back.

Maybe it’s a Texas thing, maybe it’s a Houston thing … but I don’t get it. The donuts were good. They are cheap, and they’re served warm. But pretty much exactly what I would expect from a donut — and probably not the best donut I’ve ever had. And the kolaches? Please don’t call a hot dog a sausage. It’s offensive. It’s a hot dog, covered in melted yellow cheese, in a bread-like wrapping. Pay the $ 1.29 — but know what you’re getting.

Let me begin by stating that I hold Shipley’s Donuts very near to my heart as it was THE place to get donuts and share them with friends in highschool. And now that I’m back in Houston after a decade of being abroad, Shipley’s can still rock the almighty donut house!!! Honestly though, I’ve had many a donut in my day, from all over the country and world for that matter, and this place is miles above anything you’ve ever experienced. I would pay top dollar for this kind of quality, but I don’t have to because I just got two hot and fresh glazed doughnuts, a warm cinnamon roll and two chocolate milk half pint cartons for $ 3.91. omg!

I’ve lived in every part of the country(Northwest, California, New England, and Midwest), and I have never been able to find better donuts than Shipley Do-nuts. Their warm plain glazed donuts are to die for! I’m also partial to their Devil’s Food donuts(chocolate donut with chocolate glze inside), but my parents like the maple-iced and chocolate-iced ones. I haven’t ever tried their kolaches before, because I just HAD to have the donuts.
