Took my 5 year old for a haircut today and had a great experience. We walked in at 4:15 and didn’t have to wait. Margarita cut her hair, and I was happy with how it turned out. After the cut, she dried and styled her hair, and then took my daughter to another area where she painted her nails. All in all, quick and fun experience for my daughter and I. We will definitely go back!

We had my daughter’s 5 year old birthday here. It was a super fun party and everyone, adults and children, seemed to have a great time. The staff was well prepared for us and very attentive. Besides the girls having their hairstyles and manicures, there was fun music, movies on the small tv’s, 2 gaming stations and a tv and sitting area for the adults to watch a football game. The staff really made us feel at home and were fantastic at responding and anticipating our needs. Great venue for a party!

Took my toddler for his first haircut today and I’d give Sharkey’s 6 stars! My son ran to the police car, turned on the lights and was set. The stylist was sweet to him and he let her trim away with no problems– not a single tear. Bright colors, tons to look at — Mickey Mouse Playhouse was on at his station so when he lost interest with the car, he was set with the show and then back to the car. The cut was $ 20 and for $ 5 more we got a printed photo, a certificate, a lock of hair and a lollipop. Sure, $ 20 is steep for a haircut for a one year old but so is $ 5 coffee at Starbucks. I want my kid to have fun and not look like a mess– money well spent! Bonus: grab lunch at Lola before!

The prior reviews seem to ignore the 600 lb gorilla in the room… cost. Our experience was fine, but for a sides/back trim(not the top) on a not quite 4-yr old boy, and in less than 15 mins, $ 20 seemed a bit expensive(actually $ 25 after tip… hairdresser did a fine job so wasn’t going to punish her). The ‘right’ before-tip number felt like it should have been in the $ 14 to $ 17 range.(Note: others also mentioned receiving ‘extras’ during their experience… like lollipops or stickers or glitter or manicures, etc… we would have gotten zilch if we didn’t ask.) Yes, the environment and location deserves a $ 1 – 2 premium, but again we felt the total went just a tad beyond fairly priced… plus it all felt a bit too rushed.(Only one hair cutter working on the last Saturday morning before the holiday school break over… huh?). Probably a one-time only novelty experience for us.

I brought my two kids, ages 2.5 and 4, today. They did a great job, were quick, and there were plenty of distractions for the kids. They even braided my daughter’s hair at the end of the cut, and gave her a fun barrette and plastic ring. The seats for younger kids are all cars, like the coin operated games for kids at malls. Frozen was playing on the screens. There are no iPads given but there is still plenty to distract, and the stylists are very patient. Prices are definitely reasonable for the service. We will definitely be back!

I LOVE how there is a kids cut place in the Heights, now. Besides it being geared just for kids, the staff is super friendly and quick. The place is also sectioned off by kids ages. We went in today and Santa was there. Too cute.(Mimosa for mom!)

I just took my 2 year old daughter here for her first haircut and it was awesome! For only $ 25 she got a haircut, a hair clip, a ballon, a ring, a sticker, glitter in her hair, a lollipop, a certificate and picture and her nails painted. Not only that, but they have monitors for the kids to watch while they get their haircut and adorable cars for them to sit in. When we left I asked her if that was fun and she said yes. Success!

We are so lucky to have Sharkey’s in the Heights! After a bad experience at another area salon, I took my 3 yr old son to Alma at Sharkey’s. She was amazing– fixed him right up and there were absolutely no tears! He actually didn’t want to leave! :-) Give Sharkey’s a shot– you won’t regret it!

I took my 3 yo son in for a boy’s haircut on Saturday Dec 12th. I was able to make an appt online(which any place that does that is already going to get an extra star from me)! Then life happened, we were running late. I called to let them know, receptionist said no problem. When we got there, wow! The staff was very welcoming and offered me a water while I was waiting. My son was immediately drawn to the police car to sit in while he had his cut done. Even though he still wiggled around playing with all of the buttons, the stylist never skipped a beat. Great cut, topped off by a balloon and a lollipop for my son. We will definitely be back.

I attended the Greater Heights Chamber of commerce event. We had a ribbon cutting ceremony here in Sharkey’s cut for kids. I went inside. I saw a lot of sharks. The sharks were very friendly to me. Basically, this hair salon was for kids. I asked the owner if You could cut my hairs. I was not a kid. She said«yes». I went for it. I could play X-box, While she was cutting my hairs. I really enjoyed a game. After my hair cut. the owner game me some candy. Yeah!!! This looked like McDonalds of hair salon. I mean kids really can enjoy here. Please, please, please visit here.
