If I could give sears NOSTARS I would. I have bought all of our appliances there and when something brakes no one can come to fix anything for a month! horrible customer service! try wearing dirty clothes that long! we are going to be doing our business else were!

This isn’t the first place I run to for my quick-fix needs. Some of the reason is due to their lack of focus on any particular category: minimal tool selection, minimal lawn care equip., etc. Though the basic needs pertaining these items are met, the prices aren’t nearly appeasing. It’s been here for years and its definitely for good cause; it caters more to outdoors home improvement. Staff has that hands-on care that supplements the things I mentioned as [minor] issues, it’s convenient for when you’re in the neighborhood.

Really bad customer service! They seemed annoyed to have to help us. They didn’t have what we wanted on the shelf so I asked someone. He came to the location where we were looking and took a glance around and just simply said they didn’t have it. I have my own pair of eyes, I could see for myself, I’m not an idiot. He didn’t look in the back or even offer to locate it for me at their other stores.

When I first moved to Houston into my new house, Sears Hardware was a lifesaver. Conveniently located, well stocked and well arranged, you didn’t feel like you had fallen into the aisles of the Pentagon hopelessly searching for an exit like I did at Home Dumpout. They provided all sorts of hardware goodies that saved plumbing, electrical, windows, doors, and other assorted messes. However, their status as a real hardware store has slid with a massive injection of estrogen. Gone are the big varied selection of the locks, safety stuff, lighting, and electrical. The size of the plumbing, electrical, hardware, nuts/bolts/screws/fasteners/glue/tape stuff was drastically shrunk to make way for a huge area of fancy outdoor furniture and decorations and rows of appliances. The large selection of Craftsman tools is unchanged, but the paint department is a bit smaller. I went there to find a gate hook; never located that one but I was approached to buy a fridge or a washer every time I went by the appliance group. But YAY! I had a selection of outdoor torches and 18 different weatherproof flower banners! The staff is still pretty friendly and helpful, but now more so if you have a «French Door Stainless Steel Kenmore» glint in your eye, instead of «replacement toilet bowl flapper».
