Yummy! Nice quiet place, bland ambiance and boring décor, but in those super-plain seats I had some really delicious dahl soup, a super-savory and insanely tender lamb curry, and some decent challow kabobs. I had some kulfi for dessert, which was also quite lovely. The food was tasty and the service was good, but the portions were a little lacking for the price and the place was sort of dull and visually unappealing. I like the kabobs at Bijan Persian Grill across the street quite a bit better, but I might stop by again and get some dahl soup and lamb curry to go. :)

You gotta be in the right place when you’re the only person in the restaurant who doesn’t look like they grew up eating this food on a daily basis. Having the desire to try many things while lacking the appetite of my «younger» years, I ordered a fresh naan, lentil soup, and a 4-piece mantoo appetizer. The meal came with a small, basic chopped iceberg salad, which was a nice touch! — Naan– $ 1 made fresh and warm. Nice chewy texture with slight crispness, but I do wish the bread had more salt added to the dough for a little flavor.(People probably eat this with curry though.) — Soup– $ 2.99 and quite tasty. Soup was served hot with a lime instead of a lemon, which was unique. Struggled to find actual notable flavors, however. Paired nicely with my soup and had a strong pepper taste. — Mantoo– $ 4.99. This region absolutely rocks at seasoning food, and these are no exception. The dough was still a little tough though from not being cooked all the way, and they were served lukewarm. My brother reheated leftovers later and said that they were delicious for second meal, too. Actual entrees begin at $ 10. Service was so great that you just want to give her a big tip to show appreciation. Wonderful server was so genuine and very kind. She made recommendations and made this place more of a 4 than a 3.5. My only credentials are a yearlong residency in the Middle East, so take it for what it’s worth, but I think this nice little place merits a return to explore more of the menu.

Was in town and needed somewhere easy and close. This place rated high in Unilocal and i can happily say Unilocal was right on with this star ratting. The place is friendly and the food was really good. My only complaint was the chops where ehhhh just of and the tandoori chicken was awesome BUT the portions were all parts of the chicken. Overall i would eat here again, good prices good food, and good staff

Place was good, clean and good lighting. Service was okay, although the waitress forgot my drink. But the food thou … I ordered the kabob combination. It was so so. It could have used more salt or more seasoning at least.

Never again! I’ve been coming here for 3 years and never once disappointed! Used to be my favorite afghan place until the last two times the food wasn’t well prepared and the service changed(even noticed changes in their staff). We asked for 2 Chopan kabob to be well done and it came out exactly the opposite. We gave it back and 20 minutes later she brought back the bones of the lamb with no meat on it. She said I’m sorry I’m not the cook so I don’t know why it’s like that. We also ordered the fish curry, it was watered down and fish not cooked properly. The waiter saw this and said I’m sorry, this never happens, I’ll bring it back. The 1 star is because the fish was not as bad the second time around, but they still forgot to put the basic salt & pepper. The other items we ordered(2 tandoor chicken/1 Chapli) lacked the usual flavor. I told the waitress I’d like to speak with the manager and I did not want to pay for the 2 Chopan Kabobs. When the manager asked the waitress if what I said is true she shrugged her shoulders and said«I don’t know, I didn’t taste their food». This entire team she was apologizing for the lack of effort by the chef and now turns her back on us when the manager comes out. The manager said that«I got you next time» and that he can’t do anything about this right now. We were a party of 6 with one baby — the menu stipulates that a party of ‘more than 7′ people required a 15% tip. Last time I checked ‘more than 7′ meant 8 people or more. Usually I wouldn’t argue but because our service/food was bad I didn’t want to pay. The waitress demanded I pay the 15% and that since no one else complained in the restaurant but me I needed to pay and that my little baby who didn’t eat counted as the 7th individual. I’m never going back, I hope all of you reading this won’t have the same experience as me but they no longer deserve part of my weekly paycheck and have lost my trust!

We came one Saturday afternoon. Although the restaurant was not that busy, the service was a bit slow. However, when our food came out, it was totally worth the wait! The lamb is very tender and the Naan was freshly made and delicious! The mantoo dumplings were also very tasty and perfectly cooked. Great Afghan food for the price! A hidden gem(it’s upstairs in one of the shopping centers). A must try if you’re in the area!

Fantastic food and service. Don’t be fooled by the outside look of the place. The mantoo is the best out of them all but the kabobs are all good too. The naan looked like it would be burnt and crispy, but it came out piping hot, fluffy and soft(well worth the $ 1). Service was great, they were quick to take orders and brought a little salad to start with.

Awesome afghan food! Food is tasty and not as greasy as other places. Lamb curry was super tender and good. I normally prefer saucy curries(which this wasn’t) but this didn’t need any extra sauce. The meat itself had good flavor and spices. Spinach was amazing. Will definitely have to order that again. Dahl soup also makes the list of things to order again. Their naan was huge but I’ll probably skip that next time. It was great and fresh, but if I had to pick between the naan and rice, rice is the way to go. Can’t have too many fillers when there are other things to try… can’t wait til next time!

Great food. So flavorful. The nann is huge & and only a $ 1. The lamb curry is by far my favorite thing on the menu. So much food for so little $. Every time the food tastes so fresh and authentic. Def recommend this place to anyone wanting middle eastern food. 5 stars.

Very good food fresh and tasty. Service was courteous, friendly, and helpful. I had the curry lamb full of flavor, spicy just how I like it. I will go back.

The kabobs here are as good as they get, along with a generous serving of Basmati rice. The mantoo is also excellent as an appetizer. Although the service was a bit slow, I think the food totally makes up for it.

Went their as a big group a couple of weeks back. Really enjoyed their food and the great service that they had to offer. We had more than 30 people and placed quite a big order. 3 servers were constantly there for us and the food was served in a timely fashion. Needless to say the food and their naan was amazing. Also loved the ambience.

After reading some great reviews about this restaurant, and trusting Mike M. on this one, I was determined that I was going to try it. I was thinking how good can it really be, but then I tried the first item they brought to my table, a side salad, and it was the start of a great meal. I ordered the Dahl soup, mantoo appetizer, one naan, the lamb curry and the chapli kabob. Everything tasted good, but the very best items were the chapli and mantoo, with the lamb curry a close 3rd. The lamb curry was very tender and fairly spicy for the average person, so you have been warned. The chapli kabob really hit the spot for me since I hadn’t had beef all week. This was a perfectly chargrilled ground sirloin patty with afghan spices and cilantro and scallions on top. Totally delicious in every way. I came at an odd hour apparently, since there were only 2 other customers, and was able to sit in the elevated area alone. The waitress indicated you don’t have to take your shoes off, but I did anyway. The flavors for many of the dishes were unique to my palate and were very tasty. I will definitely be back. Thanks to the waitress who was honest with me about their juice offerings, no they aren’t fresh juices. My only complaint was that the naan wasn’t piping hot, it was nearly room temperature… not sure why.

We went for lunch, and it was pretty empty. The service is just okay. But the food is outstanding. We got the Mantoo, Chicken Curry, Chapli Kabob and Quabli Palow(rice). All delicious! Especially the Chapli Kabob.

This is surely a hidden gem! Usually when we eat out, not everyone agrees on the quality. The food was awesome and just enough for our group. We ordered the tandoori chicken kebab, Quabilli pallow and chabilli kebabs. Ciao!

This Afghan restaurant located on the second floor of this shopping center is a hidden gem. Tonight I had some mantoo(meat dumplings) and lamb curry for appetizers. Both were very good. The lamb curry had a spicy and peppery flavor to it that any spicy food eater will enjoy without being mouth burning. The mantoo dumplings were soft and mellow to eat. I could have eaten 20 of them. For the entrée I went with the challow kabob that is seasoned ground beef on a bed of basmati rice and a grilled tomato. The meat was very tasty. I wound adding some of their green chimichurra type sauce and made it even better. Also I really enjoyed the rice and tomato. The entrée was about $ 11 and represented very good value. An order of their very good naan bread for a dollar is the size of a hand towel. Service was good. This is a really good place to eat where the food tastes great and it doesn’t hurt your wallet. Parking is out front in the parking lot or the attached free parking garage. I recommend this place.

I met a friend here for dinner on a weekday. It was pretty empty when we arrived at 7:15. They have some floor seating, which sounds like a great idea, and looks great, but gets uncomfortable after sitting there for almost 2 hours, especially for guys. The food we ordered was great. We started with the entrée size of mantu for 4 adults. This came with 9 pieces. It had lots of flavor and the pasta was very fresh. I ordered the combination kabob plate which gave me the option to choose two types of kabobs. The chops are a popular item, they were good in flavor, but small in size. Overall a good experience!

I’ve been here 3 times and it never disappoints! Absolutely delicious food I swear! I’ve tried a bit of everything(we came here with a group the first time) and everything is just so delicious! The meats are seasoned so well and they are just juicy and tender. I would recommend for appetizer the eggplant dip(I’m not sure the exact name, just say eggplant dip and they will know what it is I promise). Their beef kabobs and chicken kabobs are absolutely some of the best I have ever had in my life!
