Eric has been doing my hair since 1998… 16 years and counting! I am extremely particular with my hair and any time I have ventured out to others I have come back running! I only trust him with my hair. I have long, unruly hair and he makes me look like kate beckensdale every time. Eric is a true artist and is one of the best stylist and hair color specialists in town. I am quite shocked with the negative reviews and find it hard to believe. Late sure, he has been late but I don’t think I know of too many stylists and/or doctors that run on time every time. Eric is amazing and you are missing out if you don’t check him out, he’s worth the time and certainly worth every $$. Rock the smock!

Erick has been doing an AMAZING job on my hair for over 15 years now! I don’t know what I would do without him. Not only have I always been happy after leaving the salon but I often get compliments from other hairdressers and salon owners on how fabulous my hair looks. If I have 10 stars to give I would give them all!

DONOTGOTOTHISGUY. It’s one guy named Eric. He rents a chair in a salon near the Galleria. Actually went to him a few times. Biggest waste of money. He’s NEVER on time. Reeks of Cigarette smoke. If it’s your first time with him he does an OK job of doing what you ask but once he thinks that you’ll come back he doesn’t give a flying hoot about what you want. He says rude comments. I asked for my hair to be colored a certain way and after two trips still didn’t get what I wanted. Brought pictures and didn’t even look at them. Says he knows how to color hair but HA! He’s freaking clueless. Spent a lot of money only to dye over everything myself at home… which looked way better. SAVEYOURMONEYANDTIME. DONOTGOTOHIM!!!

If I could, I would not give this review 0 stars. The stylist is named Erick and he was the rudest, most unfriendly stylist I have EVER met. First off when I made the appointment(9am on a saturday) he requested I show up 15 minutes early. I did so and he showed up 15 minutes LATE. When he came in, he did not greet me, did not apologize for being late and obviously didn’t care. I had gotten a deal on living social for a cut and was excited because I thought that maybe I would finally find a stylist I like in Houston. I was so WRONG. I told him I was getting married next year and wanted to know if I should continue to cut my bangs or grow them out. I showed him a picture of what I might want for my wedding to give him an idea. He glanced at the photo and said it didn’t matter and he just wanted to know what kind of cut I wanted today — he didnt care at all. When I told him what I wanted I showed him a picture of me with my last hair cut which I quite liked. He said that I probably wouldn’t like the way he would cut if I liked that awful haircut — SORUDE. He then said it was an amateur cut and was shocked I would like it, but that obviously it would do because I had kept a man with that haircut– WOW, can’t believe he said that. I was in shock. He finished the cut — spent less than 15 minutes doing it and he didn’t ask me how I wanted it styled even though I had told him I was getting my engagement photos done that day. When I left and went to get my make-up done, they had to fix my hair for me. HORRIBLE service, worst hair stylist I have EVER met!

So I bought the LivingSocial coupon for Rock the Smock last fall when it first came out. I just saw a new one come out today which prompted this review — wish it wasn’t for new customers only, I’d get it again! I’m at about 2 – 3 weeks since my appointment and my hair is FABULOUS. So first off, Rock the Smock is basically one guy, Erick, who rents a chair inside Figaro Salon. Now, the desk people at Figaro are pretty ditzy — I told the girl at the front I was there for Erick, she says«ok I’ll tell him» and I watch her walk back into the salon, right past the guy I later discovered was Erick. Yeah, she never told him. He finally came up to me later and asked if I’d been helped, I told him I was waiting for Erick, we shared a laugh and I mentally cursed the ditzy girl at the front for being a complete idiot. Beyond that, the appointment was great. Erick did a good job listening to my wishes and my hair came out looking great. I have been aiming for an Emma Stone-like style for a while now and no one has gotten it totally perfect until Erick. And like I said, it still looks great. If anything changes up til my next cut, I’ll write an update concerning the longevity — or lack thereof — of my cut, but based on how it’s growing out, this will easily be an 8 week cut — my rule-of-thumb is that cuts need to last 6 weeks minimum and 8 weeks is ideal; anything longer is just frosting on the cake. It’s rare that a style can continue to look as good as it looks when you first get whirled around in that chair, at your appointment, when someone else has done the blow-out for you — but he did it! I WILL be back!
