The food was very fresh and full of flavor. The portions were huge and worth every penny. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was friendly. Definitely will return.

I have been ordering to-go at Rice Bowl for years. I normally get their fried rice, noodles and 119. It’s always good and you get a lot of food for your money.

Rice bowl II is conveniently located at the first stall of a shopping strip. They offer two varieties of cuisine for you to try, Chinese and Indonesian. I stopped in for lunch on a casual Wednesday and walked up to the front. I walked into the store only to be surprised that they had construction going on for half of the seating area. Apparently they’re re-doing their floors. I went around to the other side where I wasn’t exactly greeted. I came in and walked straight to the cashier counter and was asked«How can I help you» as if I intruded on them. I wasn’t too pleased but I was instructed to take a seat at the nearest table where there was a grease stain on the seat. Regardless, I elected to get the indonesian menu and ordered the Ayam Goreng Kuning. After placing the order, the lady(Who I assume is the owner) asked«Is that it»? I nodded in shame, but whatever. Ayam Goren Kuning, is bested described as Indonesian curry marinaded chicken, deep fried with crispy bits. It was absolutely fantastic to the palate. The crispy bits over rice and hot sauce, hit the spot and the chicken itself has a great crunch with a hint of curry flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed the dish despite it being the only thing i ordered. I think I will have to come back to try the other foods here and I’m eyeing the bakso(meatballs) and beef rendang. As of right now, I wasn’t too impressed with the service and my time experienced there was hindered by loud construction. I will update as I go back to try out its other options.

Love their Chicken Noodle and Egg Fu Yong, price is reasonable, inexpensive, service was good. If they can only have hot sauce to go with the Chicken Noodle I m sure I would make huge difference

Very good Chinese take out. I love the chicken fried rice. The large is pretty big and is decently priced at $ 6. I’ve had the general joes chicken and each time it’s consistently good, not the best but good. The sweet and sour chicken had too much batter for my liking. The cream cheese puffs are good as well as the egg rolls. We tried the Indonesian menu item beef rangdang and it was tasty, tastes similar to a Pakistani dish called nihari. Overal this place is consistent. Each time you can expect it to be the same, which I like. The prices are fair although the beef rangdang was a little high priced in my opinion.

I came here for lunch last week on Saturday. My group decided to order family style from the Indonesian menu and ordered several dishes to sample. My favorites were the beef rendang(slow cooked beef chunks), mie goreng(Indonesian noodles) and chicken satay(grilled chicken skewers in peanut sauce). I also had a drink of coconut juice that was good. My table service was very good. The restaurant has several large tables with lazy susan’s on them to accommodate family style eating. This restaurant also serves chinese food from a different menu.

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Been going there for over 10 years. My favorite is the chef special lo mein, the combination egg fo young, and the eggs rolls are good to. Good service, food comes out quick and hot. They usually get very busy before they close. Love this place

I came here with my husband after reading the great reviews this place had. Customer service: 2⁄5 The cashier lady ignored us for about 5 minutes, and when she finally acknowledge us, we asked her about the menu and she giggled and responded in a very sarcastic-non friendly way. I went in for the Indonesian food, but she never showed us the menu. The two stars is because the waiter was quick to bring our food. Food: 2⁄5 The two stars is for the cheese puffs and the egg roll. I ordered Shrimp in Garlic sauce, and what I got tasted nowhere near shrimp. My husband’s Moo Goo and it was extremely watery and blend. Maybe they has a bad day today, but we felt unwanted. We will not be coming back

I’ve been going here since 2006, this place put a new definition to fried rice… Indonesian version of basically everything you get at a regular Chinese food spot but so much Better. The house special fried rice spicy is absolutely amazing still the best I’ve ever ahad… just make sure up call and place an order before u pick up and I wish they delivered. I would be so happy

We were happy that we took the tips from other reviews! This was a great meal! We got the eggs, coconut beef curry, fried rice and battered chicken– all from the Indonesian menu. We knew to ask for the Indonesian menu when we came in, and we expected that the place would be nothing fancy but that the food would be quick and good. The chicken was a bit dry. The coconut beef was our favorite– outstanding! The service was friendly as well.

Amazing Indonesian food in a hole in the wall with very deceptive looks and name. Like honestly, they couldn’t have chosen a worse name. But luckily for them, we’re in the internet age and you can just look up restaurants in Unilocal.Don’t order from the american side of the menu. All the recommendations from reviewers here are pretty spot on. My favorites are the chicken satay, telur belado, beef rendang, and fried rice.

Very simple layout but with exceptionally authentic and delicious Indonesian food! Get ready to be surprised! We had gado-gado as salad(mix of vegetables, bean curd, prawn crackers served with sweet-ish peanut sauce), some starters, like the«sate»(chicken meat skewers served with peanut sauce) and eggs with spicy sweet sour chili sauce«telur belado». We enjoyed our mains, the«Rendang» is unlike curry and has a complex exotic blend of spices and spicy sauce, authentic to some I had in Java island, perfect with steamed rice. We loved everything that we ordered«mee goreng» which is fried noodles which is tasty and fried with prawns, chicken, and vegetables. Cleanse your palate with coconut juice. Orders are made and paid at the counter and food is served quickly!

As an Indonesian myself, it’s a bless to have this place in Houston. We always come here if we miss Indonesian flavor. My favorite is Nasi Goreng(fried rice), Mie Goreng(fried noodle) and Soto Betawi(soup with tender beef meat). I have not tried their Beef Rendang or Telor Balado(spicy eggs), because even though I’m sure they tastes great, but this is not a «Padang» restaurant, a region in Indonesia where the 2 dishes come from. Trust me if they were cooked Padang style, you’ll sweat you a** of because spicy and hot. They serve in big portion and have very reasonable price. Highly recommended!
