I don’t own a dog and really wouldn’t want one in my home with the whole cleaning up, smell, and requirement to pick up poop and such. Because of that, I love the dog show! I get to pet some well groomed dogs, look at various breeds, watch various events from weight pull to agility, etc. and not have to pick up after them! Brilliant! This really is a very large event so if you’re an animal lover, bring your family here. I should mention however that I’ve seen some bad dog owners here who don’t clean up after their dog when they poop on the floor. I just see them keep on walking! What the hell? It’s not the poor custodian’s job to pick up dog poop indoors.

Came here with a Groupon with my family and brought the family dog along, too. Highlights included the«Star Search» station where you could get photos of your dog professionally taken for free, the AKC«My Dog Can Do That» agility course(you signed up for a trainer to walk you and your dog through a mini agility course — super fun and a neat learning experience) and the flyball games(a relay team of dogs that jump hurdles and bring a ball back to you in record speeds!). We also checked out the many, many booths selling everything from custom dog beds and leashes, to dog art and clothes… to weirdly enough, dog lingerie(errr…), the dog freestyle dance shows(amazing tricks!), meet the breeds(lots of diff dogs to meet and greet, check the schedule), and, of course, freebies: frisbees, chew toys, dog food samples, treats, fancy baked goods for your pets. This place was dog heaven! I would suggest bringing treats and a dog bowl along w/you if you plan on bringing your dog along. I didn’t see any dog fights break out while I was there and most dogs were pretty socialized. Yay for friendly pets :) There were also lots of families w/small children so it’s a very family friendly event!
