TOUGHMEAT, HORRIBLESIDES: My husband ordered brisket. It was dry and tough. The ribs I ordered were sizable but the flavor was not smoked. Like their sauce was too sweet. Bet they got the sauce from Heinz. They had the sides on display to help those who prefer to point rather than read. So I pointed to the zucchini. I got back to my table and realized it was cut up cucumber DROWNING in some kind of cloudy dressing. So gross. This is the first time in my adult life that I had one bite of a Mac n cheese and left it alone. Was that out of a box? Powdered cheese alert! My husband didn’t touch the sweet potatoes that looked like it was puréed then had water added to it. Definitely WORSTBBQ we have ever had, and it was more than $ 10 per person, so not a winner in the deal category either. Please do not make the error of coming into this place. I saw some other folks venturing in and I wanted to warn them to turn around but my husband stopped me. If you’re reading this, I’m sorry. In summation: Truly awful.

This is our go to BBQ place. Love the smoked chicken, sausage, brisket. I accidentally ordered the chopped beef(my fault). Don’t generally order chopped beef because other places put less than great meat in it. I would order it here anytime. It was lean and well seasoned. We’ve also ordered smoked turkey annually for 10 plus year and they are excellent.

The brisket is always tender and juicy. The home made bbq sauce is great. The chicken is smokey. Mashed sweet potatoes done just right.

The Mac & cheese is watered cheese, the chicken is too dry, and the potato salad is really good!

Extremely pleased with the service and food that I decided to use them to cater an event I was hosting and they did an extra ordinary job with their catering. I recommend this place to friends and will continue to give them business

I have been in the Q business a long time, so this is a real let down and really do not see how they are still in business. I have had a little bit of everything on the menu and have not found anything work eating again. The sliced brisket was the closest. I have eaten there twice with the exact same results. Dry meat with hardly a trace of smoke. Our company made the mistake and catered Randy’s. Same results. Overcooked dry meat with little flavor. We had brisket, ribs, chicken and sausage. The slaw was OK, the potato. salad was not good at all. The worst being the banana pudding. It was basically banana flavored pudding with vanilla wafers on top with absolutely no bananas to be found. It honestly was gross. If you decide to try them out I wish you the best. Usually small mom and pop establishments are superior to the big chains but inn this case it is not. Response to Randy: I will send you a email.

I didn’t get a chance to try their other items, but I certainly enjoyed myself. I am a major brisket fiend, and that is what cost them a 5 star review. The edges were really burnt and the meat kind of dry, but the sauce was delicious. The meat wasn’t so dry as to be a deterrent for me. I chased it with my drink anyhow. I also had corn and sweet potato on the side. They were great! The corn had a slight buttery taste and the potatoes were so sweet, like candy. Although that was all good, I still had to get a peach cobbler. I leave it in a word: yummy. I was overall not expecting the sort of cafeteria take they did with the restaurant. Poor service guy had to tell me to grab a tray. D’oh! However, the cook/cashier was super nice and patient with me. Overall, good experience. I hear the burgers are where it’s really at, so I guess I will try those next!

This place is so good I really didn’t want to give away the secret but the ribs are the best chew in Texas I love the gourmet burgers yes they are perfect ! They have a variety of homemade desserts and bbq sauces to taste with and the brisket is the best in Texas. I love the décor it’s so Texas totems carved and giant snake skins along with a fox to greet you and saddles but the food is seriously good and I rank it number one in the area as far as bbq

First of all let me start off with the Ribs with NOSMOKERING! !This tells me that the meat was NOT smoked! So why is this place called a smoke house! ?And why are they charging smoke house prices! ?Next, the Cajun Fried turkey! ?Really? I didn’t taste ANYTHING cajun about it! It was a little bloody inside though, for those of you who like their poultry medium well. This place truly sucks and now I know where not to go if I’m ever wanting real bar b que. The people who like this place obviously never knew what real bar b que tastes like… Yuk!

It has been years and years since I last visited Randy’s, which should tell you something since it is one of the closest and most convenient restaurants near my house. Yes, I have been decidedly unimpressed with them in the past. I so want to like them, and I’ve heard they changed management… so I thought I’d give them another try. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t do a thing to change my impression. The décor is nice and very typical of Texas BBQ places. You walk in and follow a lane around to the back counter where you place your order. I ordered a rib and brisket platter and was asked if I wanted lean or moist brisket. I chose moist. I promptly received my order which included two sides. Mine were cole slaw and beans. The meat was slathered with an unappetizing looking brown BBQ sauce. I tasted the brisket which was in chunks rather than slices. There was very little smoke and not much else in the way of taste. However it was indeed moist. The pork ribs were equally tasteless and extremely tough. The sauce was indeed as awful as it looked. The only redeeming features of this meal were the sides. The beans were very good, though probably canned. The slaw was fresh and creamy. Just for the heck of it, I did try the mustard bbq sauce and the sweet and smoky sauce. They were not bad. However, they were not enough to save this meal. I gave them two stars, but one and a half would be more appropriate. So, it looks like it will again be years and years until the next time I visit Randy’s, if ever.

Awesome service and terrific ribs! The staff was attentive and helped me make my selection because it was my first visit :) I will most certainly go back and have me more of the delectable jalapeño corn bread

Nothing to get excited about in here except for the variety of barbecue sauces they offer. The food is decent but not anything I would go bragging about.

The first time I got some BBQ from here it was great. My wife and I pulled up 5 mins till closing and everything we got tasted very fresh. On the second time we went. The coleslaw was sour. We brushed it off as just being a bad batch. This last we went, everything was dry. The sausage and brisket didn’t have any kind of juices in them. The BBQ sauce didn’t even help. The cornbread was soggy. I guess it’s a roll of the dice at this place.

It would seem that I visited Randy’s Smokehouse for the first time after a management/owner change, because of what David T. wrote, and also so many past complaints about«the sauce». I’m a sauce-lover that won’t return to a BBQ joint if I dislike their sauce, and the Randy’s I visited in May 2014 had *many different sauces* to choose from! I squirted a little of each into the little to-go cups and thoroughly enjoyed having such a selection(even if I didn’t like each one, but that’s the genius IMO — everyone has different sauce preferences). I can’t comment on the meat, ribs or sausage, as I normally just order chopped beef sandwiches on my first visit to a BBQ joint, then progress to sliced beef before finally taking a chance on ribs. But I’ll certainly try their slice beef next, since they passed my «sauce test». But they did show me one of their ribs, and they did NOT look dry and was decent sized. PS: Their«dirty rice» is more like Mexican rice IMO — not that I dislike Mexican rice, but we were expecting dirty rice. BBQ beans were OK, but not exceptional. Next I’ll try their potato salad and onion rings and hope they’re better.

Disappointed in my smoked turkey this year. Was promised a minimum 15 pounder, in fact, was told they didn’t have anything smaller. Used my scale at home which registered 9 pounds. Even taking into account fluid loss during cooking it’s hard to believe the bird lost 6 pounds. The guy in front of me at pick up refused his turkey because he said he ordered a 16 pound bird and felt ripped off. I’ve used Randy’s for many turkeys before, and for catering, but doubt I’ll be back after this.

Randy’s ended up on my «banned for life» list when the manager dude gave my wife quite a bit of grief for using a $ 2 off coupon before eventually accepting it. The customer service has always been weak at best, but since it’s relatively close, we’d go here every once in a while. The food is average, and not the best«value for money» BBQ out there. Certainly not good enough to compensate for the shoddy service. I’ll never recommend this place to anyone I like, but feel free to try it at your own risk.

Quite possibly the worst BBQ I’ve had in my life. The whole ordering process is on a cafeteria style chow line and I could practically see a layer of «skin» forming on that horribly flavored BBQ sauce. Everything to include the sides were simply not enjoyable to eat. Unfortunately I wasn’t the only person in my group that was completely dissatisfied with this travesty of a dining experience. There wasn’t even beer sold to make things just a little bit better! What kind of BBQ establishment doesn’t serve cold beer?

Randy’s is under new management(a Mr Jihan Jaouhari) and the place has gotten a bit better this year. Ribs used to occasionally be a bit dry; seems to have fixed that. Plus they’ve fixed the broken drink machine, they’re keeping the relish bar stocked. On the other hand, they took down my favorite cartoon — that always hung by the register — of Garfield barbecuing an owl. I usually get the ribs. There’s a lot of stiff competition here about, but they do a decent entry. Pretty tender, rich flavor. I eat here every few months with a group of guys; I’m not partial to sausage, but my friends are and they always are pleased. A couple décor things make Randy’s stand out. They have more than adequate taxidermy for a Texas BBQ joint, including really big rattlesnake skins. But more than that, they have good chainsaw art. If you don’t know chainsaw art, this is the craft of whittling a statue out of a log, using chainsaws. The chainsaw Indian chief is my favorite. Also, the new management just put in a bunch of neon on the front. I’m a fan; check it out.
