Primrose School of The Westchase District

We had an AWFUL experience at this school, specifically the infant room. My son would be hoarse from crying all day, and when I asked the teachers about it, I was told «he didn’t cry more than a normal baby». I saw my own child, as well as other babies, falling asleep on the floor on multiple occasions. We repeatedly asked our son be put in a sleep sack to sleep, and we witnessed this was not the case numerous times. We were consistently told he was not a good sleeper, and that he could only soothe himself to sleep on the floor. We did not experience this at home, nor at his current daycare. Teachers were not forthcoming with information, and I didn’t seem the engaging the children. There was very little in the way of stimulating toys (we were told they would not use play mats)/ Front desk staff is responsive when you call and they answer, but did not return voicemails (in my sons time there, I left 2 and did not a return call). I asked to speak to the owner several times, and was always sent to the director instead — she was responsive, but we did not feel the classroom activities reflected the promises we were made for curriculum and caring environment. When we found another daycare, I offered to share my concerns via email with the owner, but received no response. I would NEVER send my child to this school, nor would I recommend it. Through our other child and moving, we’ve sent our children to 2 other daycares in Houston and have been please.

I have yet to see why anyone would choose to send their child to this school. It’s exorbitantly expensive and doesn’t deliver on it’s promises. Great curriculum? Well, maybe, but they don’t tell you what is is they are teaching your child. No daily summary of what your child learned. The staff is mediocre at best, and have little to no control over the classroom. I saw kids climbing on furniture and had a little boy hitting me right in front of the teacher without reprimand. The «nutritious» meals are definitely not that. My kid was served pizza. And the «continental breakfast» is simply cereal. The desk staff is not responsive– they do not return phone calls and you don’t get to wait on the line when they are helping other callers. You simply have to call again and again. It can take 3 or 4 times before you reach someone (even after leaving messages). It’s just not worth it…
