I have been venturing out since working at the medical center and decided to give this place a shot. It is located on the first floor of the scurlock parking across from Methodist hospital. There was no one there and I knew I wanted Tex mex but wasn’t exactly sure what to get. I asked the guy what was his favorite and i don’t think he understood me. I got the tacos and the guy said meat? I said chicken and I wanted black beans. Then he just put chicken and started moving down the line. Then I pointed and said black beans. And he looked at me like I was insane. I asked for salsa and the guy ignored me and just started wrapping up my taco… The lady then asked me if I wanted it here or Togo I said Togo. Then this owner guy was like no for here, there’s no one here. I said no I want it to Togo. He said no for here for here hahaha. Then he slid me a tray… So I ate there… They probably don’t want to use the styrofoam containers! Anyway the food was whatever. It could’ve been better with salsa!

This place is the only place to get decent TexMex in the med center. I’ve had a few things on the menu. Quesadillas are good, can’t go wrong with meat and cheese. Tortilla soup, very tasty. Chicken enchiladas are stuffed well and flavored well. The ding here is that they use flour tortillas which tend to get gummy after being cooked with sauce and cheese. They should be using corn! They are using some good recipes here, and I do like the food. The location is on the street level of the Scurlock building.

Decent little place on the ground floor of Scurlock Tower. I got the Aztec Salad, which was surprisingly good for a) hospital food and b) $ 6.45. The beef was well seasoned and moist, and the salad was tossed with a nice amount of jicama, red cabbage, carrots, and tomatoes. Probably 3 and a half stars, but going down to 3 because of the staff’s dearth of communication skills.

I tried this place for the first time because I couldn’t locate Chipotle. I will say that the portions are the same size as Chipotle however they are more pricey! They are located inside of the Methodist Hospital.

I am constantly looking for new food in the medical center because after awhile the same stuff starts to get pretty boring. Well I did find something new… not necessarily something new AND good though. This place is located on the first floor of the Scurlock Tower of the Methodist Hospital. It’s right next door to Miller’s Café. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. If you can come between both of these meals around 11 am if you want to beat the crazy lunch crowds. I had the Monday special, which was 3 chicken enchiladas, beans, and rice for 6 bucks. It wasn’t spectacular but it wasn’t terrible either. There was a good amount of quality meat in the enchiladas. I will throw this place in my mix of lunch options.
