So, my wife and I are in Houston for the weekend of Astros baseball. We are staying near the galleria., it is a huge mall with every chain you can name. So we decided to try this place. It’s about miles walk from our hotel on your way to another freeway. Anyway, we walk down the way and arrive about 5:30 pm. There about three parties in the place, but we go ahead and walk in. We were greeted by a nice man and seated. To make it a little short Caprese –good Wedge salad –awesome dressing Spinach ravioli– nice Risotto– shrimp great flavor WOW! Terimasu. Lemon butter cake Yes! RH California

Hard to find using phone or vehicle navigation — so get specific directions from the restaurant before you go — and, you should go. We had several different dishes on our party of 6 Mother’s Day celebration — and ALL of the food was superior. Recommend using their valet parking(no charge, but obligatory tip is in order). I had grilled pork chops — excellent. Wife had crab cakes and salad — delicious. Mom had the filet — a bit overcooked, but who orders a filet medium well? Nephew had pasta, gave me a taste, and I will probably order it next time with a chopped salad. Sis had the brunch eggs benedict and loved the dish. Mother’s Day was rather crammed — we had very little room, but the food and superior service were worth it.

First I want to say the staff was great(until it was time to pay, then we couldn’t locate a wait staff to take our payment — I know weird, right?) We had the pork chops, but one was tough and had no flavor at all, and the other was ok. The vinaigrette salad dressing was a bit overwhelming, just a little too much vinegar. Overall, I was disappointed, despite the fact that I have looked forward to trying this place for several years now. We won’t return.

Love Piatto’s. Every time I come, everyone is very friendly and warm & I’ve never felt rushed. The food, everything from the pastas to the meats are awesome. They also are open to your substitutions which is always nice to me.

Very nice Italian food, service is great, ambiance is not bad. I had sea bass with pineapple sauce, pretty unique flavor. Can’t go wrong with the seafood pasta. And the tiramisu was delicious. A little price, but worth it.

We love coming here on Sunday evening because there’s less of a crowd. The pastas are great, service is warm and unhurried. Don’t neglect the complimentary bread basket. It’s delicious!

Came here for an event. The food is edible. Started off with the Asparagus Special. Good, basically asparagus in batter, fried and with some crab meat topped on it. I know we had a big group, so food came out all together. But it just took quite some time. I had ordered the Veal Chop, most expensive item on the menu. First bite into it and I thought it was a pork chop. That’s how dry it was. The meat was not even gradient(I asked for medium rare). So without hesitation, the waiter took the item back and came back with the proper order. The lady had an order of the eggplant parmesan. Maybe it’s our taste buds, or maybe it could have been the food. A bit on the dry side, could have used some more sauce, and a bit less cheese. Now remember, we live in the States, where cheese is colored, changed, and deformed so that we think cheese is supposed to be a certain way. But I am almost sure that it wasn’t great parmesan to begin with. But I could be wrong. No asking us about dessert. So service was great at certain parts of the night, but not so much in others. Food is definitely over rated. Parking is nice, which is right behind the building. But other than that, I do not rec this place at all.

I work across the street from Piatto’s and have found their restaurant top notch. The food is delicious and the customer service is great. Bebe is wonderful to work with for large events and catering!

We wanted to try a new Italian restaurant and saw that Piatto was zagat rated and had decent reviews. We were seated promptly. We ordered their popular appetizer… Asparagus with crab meat. That was our favorite dish. We could order eat another one! We also ordered the Cozze(mussels) as appetizer. It was ok… The white sauce was a bit too salty for our taste. For entrees, I had the linguini peacatore which was decent although it started to taste salty at the end bec of the sauce same as the Cozze. He pasta was cooked perfectly. My wife had the shrimp scampi… Presentstion was nice… Pasta cooked well… But the shrimp was over cooked and the sauce was salty again. Service-wise, our waiter was a bit slow to refill our water and soda. We had to ask a couple of times for refill. We are probably not going back as there are other better Italian restaurants around unless we start craving for asparagus with crab meat appetizer.

Sea bass was delicious with asparagus proceeded by a calamari appetizer & warm bread. I arrived at 4:30pm & it was empty on a Friday, so enjoyed a quiet dinner with good service.

This place is sooooooo good! They have been here forever, it is a little hard to find with all the Galleria stuff around it but well worth it. Love all the salads and the veal Marsala is the best in Houston.

This was the favorite restaurant of my grandpa, so I’ve been here a couple times(but never really paid). I’m not a huge Italian fan, so maybe that’s why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. The food is good, but it just doesn’t have a wow factor to it that would earn it 5 stars from me. The inside atmosphere is pretty quaint, and the service is great. All of our waiters have always been really good to us, and I do appreciate that. If Italian food is your thing, I think you’d really enjoy Piatto.

Piatto! Tomato, tomata. I loooove me some Piatto.(Makes no sense but goes 2 show u how much I enjoyed lol) Came across this place during Houston Restaurant Week in search of some Italian food. The restaurant is located in a hidden area right off W Alabama St. You’ll notice the yellow sign if you’re looking close enough. We were immediately greeted and seated at a table. The restaurant was pretty full but still a nice, calm, intimate atmosphere that wasn’t too noisy. There was also a bar area with a TV. I forgot our waiters name but he was great! I ordered the frozen peach Bellini to drink(yum!). For my meal, I started with the Caesar salad, the shrimp scampi w/fettuccine Alfredo and ended with cannoli’s for dessert. The salad was good and fresh but my favorite was the entrée. Omg. The noodles tasted homemade and had this flavor that melted in your mouth. The shrimp were so succulent and amazingly cooked. I was like wow! I wanted to take some home but there was none to take home lol a happy plate was made! The dessert was OK but nothing I would order again. All in all great service. I’m glad I was exposed to this place because I will definitely be back! The manager came around, introduced himself and ensured we were doing fine. I love that his last name is Carrabba LOL Great experience and can’t wait to return. Parking was either in the garage or valet. If after 6pm, garage parking on the first level is accessible.

This is what I call good food, excellent flavor and presentation. The balance of the spices on every plate is outstanding. Service was like, emm, well, emm, it was his first day, I know first day serving tables is a nightmare no matter how long you have been n training. The place is impeccably clean, I feel a little guilty of not giving 5 starts, but they’ll surely have a second chance.

Found this gem from Unilocal comments. Here for a week and staying at the Westin Galleria. It is a short two block walk. Ate every bite and need the walk back to the hotel. 7pm on a Wednesday night and I was the third table. By 8:15 they were half full with couples and groups of four. Looks like a ladies night out for many small parties. Odd that the menu is a laminated one you expect from a Mexican restaurant. That was the only cheesy thing, the rest was quite classy. Started off with the wedding soup. Came out super hot which is great. Tasty, filled with orzo and meatballs. Had the eggplant parmigiana and added a house made sausage. They were very accommodating and even made gave me bologna se for the pasta. I ate every bite. The sausage was outstanding with just a hint of spice. The eggplant seemed to be baked so had no breading. It was not an overwhelmingly huge portion so I was satisfied and did not have a food coma. With a $ 14 glass of wine, the total was $ 38 plus tip that will be 20%. A very good value with good, attentive but not overbearing service. Recommended.

I will preface my review with saying that I am, and always will be a New Yorker. That said, I can’t imagine giving this place more than 3 stars. We started out with the calamari, which was very good. I ordered the Piatto Chicken. It’s one piece of chicken, the size of my hand. I planned to take half home for lunch the next day but almost couldn’t make any semblance of a meal out of the other half, as it was just half of a small piece of chicken. While the goat cheese and all was good, the price tag on this dish for one piece of chicken makes no sense to me. That’s not how Italians in New York do food, I can assure you. My boyfriend enjoyed his chicken parm and wants to go back, but I can’t justify the price for the portion.

Great place for a business lunch. tucked away behind Williams Tower(Transco) and the Galleria. there is valet parking, daily specials and friendly staff. I have been here many times over the years and never had an issue/complaint.

Have been using this place as my «client luncheon spot on the west side of town» for years. Quiet enough that you can carry on a conversation. Always good and fast service. Food consistently good and a large menu. Pastas, seafood, meats. Reasonably priced.
