It was our first time to come here last night; it was great! We will for sure be returning here. The atoms here was great, we stood for most of the night but still had a great time.

We were a group of seven ladies celebrating a birthday on a Saturday night. Reservations were easy through emails with«Dexter» and we were given a table right up front. We had very good service, drinks were good, but the show was«Eh». I’ve been to the Austin location and the show was much more entertaining and had more audience participation. The best parts where when a couple got engaged on stage, and when they brought up the service men and women. HOWEVER, because there is no dance floor and we were up front, we were made to sit down so everyone behind us could see. Um, is this the opera? Get up off your chairs people! We did have one very exuberant party member who liked to hop on stage, but we were aware of this being a problem and were keeping her under control. Everything was going great until suddenly two bouncers showed up at our table and grabbed two girls our table and dragged them to the front door. Shocked we followed them while staff people told us it was okay we could stay, but those two were getting kicked out. No thanks Pete’s, were not okay with two of our party getting thrown out. Apparently someone said one of them threw up at the table! Um, no that didn’t happen. When the manager figured that«he said it was a misunderstanding» he tried to get us all to stay and buy free drinks etc. but it was too late, mood and birthday officially ruined. Even if someone had been sick,(and if they had, we wouldn’t be still sitting there DUH) why be so rude about getting them to leave? It’s not like they had started a fight or stole something. Why not ask them to leave in a more discreet way? It was humiliating to be pulled out like that, remember we were right up front and the poor girls who were asked to leave were mortified that they ruined our friends birthday. There are so many great places in Houston to go out for a fun time. This one is off our list.

Aside from this place being a lot of fun and the talented musicians, I must say this was one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in quite some time. We went here for going away party. I sent a last-minute email requesting a reserved table for 15. Bobby Murphy, the GM, responded almost immediately and went out of his way to be sure that our party was accommodated. When we arrived, Austin took us to our table, and checked on us throughout the night, to be sure that we were taken care of. He even moved us to a bigger table later in the evening. I cannot say enough about the staff and how impressed I am by their customer service! Thank you, for helping to make it a great night for us! I recommend Pete’s to anyone wanting to have a good time and be treated like valued customer!

Ok place to go and drink with friends. They don’t have a spot to dance, so every time people(bachelorettes) would hear their favorite song, they would go up on the small space on the stage and dance like strippers. The music selection was somewhat boring, seems like they play the same songs every weekend. It would be nice and actually challenging to play different songs requested by the public. Bartenders are nice, but drinks are too expensive. Finding a seat was hard when we got there, around 10:30 pm, but then I guess it was so boring that there were some empty tables by 11:30. I probably sat there for another 30 more minutes and left as well, it was pretty boring. I have been to better piano bars where we don’t want them to stop playing.

This place is all alcohol. It’s like a giant bar where you get to sit and sing along to live music. The performers are awesome and as the night goes on it gets even better! Love this place floor a fun night out! FYI: no food is served here. It’s all drinks

Love this place! Went here for a date not too long ago and had the absolute time of my life. It’s a blast! We made a reservation and I’m so glad we did… when we got there it was empty but I blinked and the place was jam packed! Service was pretty good for such a crowded busy place. The show was awesome. Can’t wait to return.

Go early if you want a seat! Never a dull moment and the people are incredibly talented. The only downers are the cover charge and difficulty getting a waitress attention when it gets overcrowded.

Cool place to have some fun! I specially like how spacious it feels inside Petes, that even though place is crowded it doesn’t feel too tight. I just wished the cocktails had some more liquor. It definitely felt like I was drinking juice only.

Came here on a Saturday night with 2 girlfriends and had a great time! I’ve only been to Pete’s once before on a Thursday night and it was pretty dead. Saturday’s are hopping here! We came after 8pm thinking we were early but it was PACKED already! All the main floor tables were filled but luckily we were able to order at the bar very quickly and snag 3 bar stools at the counter facing the stage. Cover was $ 9 on a Saturday night and quite steep in my opinion but after spending a little over 4 hours there it was definitely well worth it. We didn’t personally request any songs so I can’t comment on that aspect but it seems like the more you tip the more likely you are to get your particular song sung. The performers were entertaining, sang very well, and put on a great show. Most of the performers played more than one instrument and were quite talented. 4 hours passed by before I knew it! There were a ton of big groups there celebrating birthdays, bachelorette parties, and anniversaries– such a diverse place that will please all adult age groups. Service was good in the beginning of the night but as the night went on and the place got more crowded, service became very sluggish — it took us 20 minutes to find our waitress to close our tab out at 12 midnight. Also a huge con– parking! There are private paying lots nearby and valet service but NOFREEPARKING! Booo to that– at least comp your patrons if you’re gonna charge cover, no?

After posting, someone from Pete’s reached out to me to apologize and offered to send a gift card in the mail in order to make it up to us. We actually did receive a very generous gift card a few days later and finally went back last night. Wow, this is how it is supposed to be. Our server was great and she was very attentive, even though it seemed like there were only two servers making the rounds. Drinks were on point too. The entertainers were great and after about 11:30, the place really cleared out with about 30 people being in the whole place. With this small of a crowd, the singers didn’t bother doing the«who can make the most noise» or «who is the wildest person that wants to do **** for a free shot»… instead, they just cranked out song after song. Made a request for some Motley Crue and the singer, Tyler(great name BTW) knocked out a great rendition of «Home Sweet Home». Had a great time and now know that going on a Thursday was just right for us. Can’t wait to go back!

My wife and I and some of her coworkers visited Pete’s on a Thursday night. When we first arrived, we(10 of us) were the only patrons in the place. Two of the entertainers, Joy and Greg, took the stage and started playing for us. Slowly over time, people started coming in. Although the place never did get crowded. There was another group who were there as a team, four ladies celebrating a birthday party, and a few other business and casual patrons. Tyler joined Joy and Greg on stage at some point and the three kept the evening interesting, switching out periodically to keep two performing at one time. On occasion, the third person would stay out for a song or two. These three were fantastic! Joy did a cover of Whitney Houston’s «I Will Always Love You» and absolutely KILLEDIT!!! She sang a couple of other songs that was well received by the fans. Greg was comical, as was Tyler. It was a very fun evening! And you cannot have a better location. It’s near the House of Blues and numerous restaurants, and is very centrally located. Great place to go with a group to celebrate something /anything, or just hang out!

This is a must do in Houston! When we first walked in I have to say I was worried. We were the only people in the bar and the place is big. Great décor at the bar and light effects depending on setting the theme or mood of the room which appeared to be managed by the piano players. When I first heard about dueling pianos, I don’t know why, but was picturing people in suits or tuxedos. My own ignorance. Instead Joy was in shorts and a cute top and the guys were very good looking wearing tshirts, sneakers, and jeans, beards, and one had his hat turned backwards. What women doesn’t love that! Then they began to play and I am so glad we stayed. They alternated between piano, drums, and guitars and trust that they were good at them all. The piano was so effortless for them, and I could have spent all night watching them — oh wait, we did! Joy had some pipes and could belt out Alecia Keys and other high ranges songs like she wrote them herself. The guys were funny and played off each other extremely well. They had a wide range and I loved listening to Tom Petty, Green Day, Barry White and whoever else we threw out there. Even with this being a weekday and it had hardly a crowd, we still ended up dancing by the end of the night with everyone else. The only reason I gave a 4 star was service. While the waitress was incredibly nice, she disappeared leaving us along with others going to the bar to get our own drinks. Also eat before you go because there are no food options. Go anyway! These piano players have talent. There is only one more thing they could have done to make it perfect and that’s to move it to Hawaii.

I like Pete’s for a fun night out. It’s great to go with a bunch of friends and their drink prices are decent for downtown. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure I always had a full beer when mine was low. You can sing along loud with everyone else and not worry about how terrible you sound. It get rowdy in the best way and lots of laughs are always had. The musicians have fun with it and let people on stage to dance and join in. You can request a song with a couple bucks and they play the college fight songs every night. This place is ideal for birthday and Bachelorette parties.

A fun place to get away for an evening. Enjoy some drinks while listening to your favorite songs get blasted from a pair of pianos. The more you interact and sing, the more fun you’ll have.

I’ve been to piano bars in three cities(New Orleans, Austin, and H-Town), and this one is by far my favorite for three reasons: (1) Pete’s does a great job infusing the classic spirit of piano bars with a modern touch of guitars, drums, and free shots(the last one’s a game changer). Whether you love the 60’s classics or have never heard of the Beatles, you’re going to find yourself tapping your feet and having a good time. (2) It’s a great place to bring anyone for any occasion. Even on a slow Friday night, there was at least one bachelorette party, a 55-year old couple celebrating their anniversary, two birthdays, and no less than one group of PhD students celebrating graduation. (3) It’s more spacious than your typical piano bar so you have the option to sit and relax or stand/mingle/dance. Will definitely be coming back here with both out-of-town guests and friends alike.

We came here for a friend’s bachelorette party on a Saturday night around 10pm with 10 ppl. The place was super crowded and we had to hang around the bar for around an hour before we got a seat. They also never got our bachelorette up on stage even though we filled out the form, so a little disappointed with the place. Not sure what you have to do to get your VIP up there. Also Definitely would come early or late(12 pm) when the older crowd(35−40s) start to clear out. Drinks are a bit pricey, but to be expected. I got a Long Island iced tea for ~$ 10. Dueling pianos are pretty good entertainment and they appease the crowd. Some UT vs AM fight songs, some Carrie Underwood before he cheats guys vs girls, and just overall new takes on bachelorette and bachelor songs(this old man?!). They play some good ol 90s music and various different genres; mostly in line with the crowd. I enjoyed singing along to the music. Parking be crazy! So either find a garage or someone that works downtown nearby or just valet the car for $ 10. Street parking is a hit or miss. The place is on the third level near house of blues.

This review is for a Friday night. The location is right in downtown where parking is an issue so we went there by taxi. We saw the sign on the side, but then realized you have to take the outside elevators/escalators up to enter the venue. Cover was $ 8. We came for a bachelorette party and they seated us on the side with a few tables. Even got us to go up on stage to dance. I had a blow pop martini and it actually came with a actual blow pop candy in the drink, which I thought was pretty unique. Average price for the martini’s were about $ 12. Overall, atmosphere was a pretty chill place to listen to two guys duel it out on two pianos. There were also two guys playing the guitar on stage. It actually can get pretty rowdy and loud with people screaming to music. The pianists do interact w/the crowd quite a bit and takes song requests. I would go back just to hang out w/friends, have a drink, and listen to some piano duels.
