Pepper Palace

I stopped at this location on my way home from Galveston, and have to shave off a star because they don’t offer tastings. As a result, three of my purchases were products I already knew. On the positive side, the gentleman there used my selections to suggest a couple more, so I’m hoping they make the grade.

If you can reach back into the crevices of the memories of your childhood, and recall the first time that your parents took you to a toy store and allowed you to select a toy of your choice; and if you also passionately profess an undying love for all the peppers of the world, then I can safely guarantee that your first steps into the Pepper Palace will bring that same overwhelming euphoria as when you first lifted your head and saw the endless rows of toys before you.
Tucked into a corner of the second story of the Neiman Marcus section of the Galleria, the Pepper Palace is quite small in size. However, it still manages to stock over 2,000 items in its inventory, 700 of which are store brands. From its rows of hot sauces to its spices, rubs, and salsas, the Pepper Palace has it all, with enough open jars for tasting that you’re sure to find the perfect sauce for yourself. It would be an understatement to say that the Pepper Palace has the most complete inventory in the greater Houston area.
But honestly, it’s the salsas that keep me coming back. With around 20 to 30 gourmet, store-​brand jars of salsa, each as tantalizingly fresh and flavorful as the next, and with around a dozen open for tasting, finding your absolute favorite is a cinch! Yes, they may be a dollar or two more than the salsas at HEB, Spec’s or Central Market, but they are well worth it.
Lastly, it’s the subtleties that truly make a difference, and the Pepper Palace offers a buy 5, get one free policy. That’s about 18% off of retail! You can tell this is a southern company, and with the way that I go through those salsas, I know I’m coming back on a regular basis.

Peppers — dried, powdered, jellied, sauces, seasoning mixes, mild, medium, hot, volcano and there is no way this is meant for human consumption hot!!!
They are very friendly and experts in all aspects of peppers — go figure!
