I stopped by last night and my first clue was there was not a line of cars in the drive thru. I ordered a chopped beef sandwich. How about I was given the sandwich without a top bun. I did not ask for open faced sandwich. I will be calling the manager as well as the corporate office on Monday. This is unacceptable!!!

This place is my to go place for dinner when I’m in Houston, and I don’t have time to cook dinner. I usually use the drive thru for their brisket, which is pretty good. You can order it by the pound. I normally order the fatty brisket, the lean brisket is too dry for my taste. If you ask, they’ll give you onions and pickles for free, depends on the size of your order. Another of my favorites is their smoked chicken. I was surprised the first time I ordered it. It was very seasoned and moist, not dry at all. For carb lovers, they have these massive baked potatoes, that come fully loaded, you can also order a protein to top off your potato. Then you have a complete meal. I’ve recently tried their burgers, and they were quite good and very filling. I ended up sharing it with my mother. So now when I order one, I ask if it can be cut in half, and they have been very nice about honoring my request. Half a burger is just perfect! One word of advice, don’t order the burgers to go. You will end us with a mess when you get home. Enjoy them there. They also have several different sides, but I personally haven’t tried them so I can’t vouch for them. Service has always been good. It can get crowded on Friday evenings and on weekends. So watch out. Parking can be a challenge if its crowded.

Great food! Terrible service at this location. I have been standing at the counter for approximately 10 minutes and only one person has even acknowledged my existence. I called in a large to-go order and was instructed to come inside to pay/pick up. Absolutely ridiculous. Extremely slow. No sense of urgency whatsoever. I will NOT be coming back here. Go 3 miles down the road to the other location if you can, avoid this location like the plague.

The absolute, slowest, worst drive thru in city! The food isn’t that good to wait this long. Moving backward when they tore down the secondary drive thru building!

The service isn’t always great. Food is good. The burgers are great, as well as their salads, and of course baked potatoes. This location needs some updating, the décor is getting old and it’s always dark in there. Did see a giant roach under our table while we were eating.

Had the pulled pork sandwich… The honey had the regular sliced brisket sandwich… We shared the fries… Tasy sandwiches and plenty of meat on them… Nice selection of jalapeños, pico de gallo and all the trimmings !!

This place always has good food. The potato that I posted was very good and it was more than enough to the point where I had to share it with my mom. And the prices are just right.

Way to keep it consistent in the morning drive thru, at least consistent with my last review. The FIRST time I stopped by this morning 8−25−15, I ordered a bacon and egg taco with no cheese and a coffee and hash brown combo(not too challenging, right? wrong!) So, I pay and drive off. I end up having to go back because i ordered a bacon and egg taco. The SECOND time i have to wait a little longer and get back to the window and another bag and drive off. This time i look at my order and the hashbrown is not in there and I have this sad taco way less egg than the first one(like 1⁄3) and some bacon. This thing looked sad The only reason I went back the THIRD time is because I just want what I paid for, i’m just tired of these places that forget your order or get it incomplete but still nickel and dime you taking for granted that you wont come back because it’s just 50, 60 or 70 cents even after they get your order wrong. Oh and by the way, they just skipped the hashbrown this time…:( I felt like i was being punished for wanting my correct order. This sucks, once again because i really like Pappas. I frequent all of the restaurants. It’s usually an easy choice. DRIVETHRU at The Gulfgate Woodridge location cannot get it together. Meanwhile i have to sit there and wait for the cashier to finish her bullshit session with her manager before i get my sad, ass, 1⁄3 the normal serving sized taco. I showed up late for work, but i left with time to spare. I just had to go to Pappas 3 times and that kinda screwed me over. Thanks again!

This is like my OG location or grandfather have you for me at least. Love the services here and plates are always on point. I will say parking is a pain and don’t let it be busy. Forget it! Love the brisket and chili cheese fries!!! Salads are fresh and crisp definitely worth $ 3.95!

Whenever my husband and I are craving some BBQ, this is where we’re at! The baked potato is great! I’m incredibly picky about mac’n’cheese and especially at BBQ restaurants, I like theirs here. I’ve heard bad things about other Papa’s locations, don’t let those give this* one a bad name. The food’s good here!

My boyfriend and I decided that we wanted some BBQ. So this place came into mind. When we came in the restaurant, everyone was enjoying their meal and enjoying themselves. I decided on getting the Chopped Beef Po Boy and my boyfriend decided to get the Pulled Pork Po Boy. We decided to get our meal to go. The food came out really fast, which we like very much. We came home and we loved it. My Chopped Beef was amazing and my boyfriend’s Pulled Pork was really good. We would definitely come back soon. Next time, I’ll get their Chopped Beef Baked Potato.

I think the enjoyment experienced when eating barbecue beef chipped over homemade fries with liquid cheese and sauce is nearly unparalleled outside of one’s bedroom.

In driving down to Kemah, we saw the sign for Pappas and decided to stop. The parking lot looked packed but we were able to easily find a spot and the inside wasn’t as crowded as we had expected. The cafeteria line style kept things moving quickly. I went for the rodeo special of brisket and sausage, with two sides. I tried the potato salad and green bean salad. I grabbed their gallon sized glass of iced tea and was set. I believe my bill was ~$ 15. My cousin went for a salad with three types of meat on it, and it was massive. The pickle bar was a nice touch and allowed up to stock up on treats. The meat was very tender and I appreciated that they offer beef only sausage. The sides were good, though the bean salad was drowning in an italian style dressing. My cousin was able to make it through about half of her salad before having to put her fork down. Overall prices were good and food was a-ok. We were able to get in and out efficiently and appreciated the friendly staff members we encountered.

Being born and raised in Texas, I am a huge fan of BBQ. Came here and tried a multiple meat plate(to go) and was not impressed at all. The meat was too chewy, and the ribs were lacking in the meat portion. I would not go back here, but was worth a shot.

I came here last night with my significant other to get something to eat. We ordered from the drive-thru because it was packed on the inside. I strictly told the guy taking my order chicken baked potato NOBACONBITS, or BACON whatsoever. I asked for a side of sour cream for extra too. My significant other asked for a chopped beef sandwich with extra chopped onions and bbq sauce. We got to the drive thru window, paid, and the strange guy there was staring into my soul(literally!). Before we left, we looked in our bags to see if they got our order of extra sour cream, chopped onions, and bbq sauce. NOPE! They didn’t put it in the bag. So we drove through the drive-thru again. Got to the window and clearly told the guy again what we needed. He got it for us and we left. As I got home and was eating my potato, I noticed a lot of little red bits in my potato mixed in with the cheese. It was that dang BACONBITS, I didn’t ask for. I specifically said no bacon of no such that’s why I ordered a chicken potato. That pissed me off because I am allergic to pork and plus I paid for this ridiculous service. I mean, it isn’t hard to pay attention nor listen when someone is talking to you. No means No!!! Oh, it was that guy with blond tips on his hair. At the drive-thru window. I probably will not be back.

This is only my second time eating at a Pappas Bbq and it was great. It took me a few minutes to find the entrance however… There is a parking lot on both sides of the restaurant but you can only enter on one of the sides. So pay attention when pulling into the parking lot. I can’t say which side to pull in on because you can come from either direction to get into the parking lots. Once you get into the restaurant it has the feel of a real Texas barbecue place. Lots of interesting things hanging all over the place. There is one line to order your food then pay at the end of the line. Then you can pick any table you want to sit at to eat. For about 12 or $ 13 I decided to try the pork barbecue plate that had ribs, pulled pork, and sausage. You also had a choice of two side dishes. Because I was with my cousin I decided to try the macaroni salad and potato salad and he got the dirty rice and the baked beans and we shared all the sides. We both thought the baked beans and the dirty rice were two of the best sides. After I sat down to eat my meal I looked around the restaurant and noticed everybody seemed it order The fries that had what looked like cheese and chili another stuff on it maybe it was bacon bits but they looked really good and I think I’m going to try that next time I am here! They had a very nice condiment bar that included onions pickles all the normal stuff you expect to find at a barbecue place plus more. They seem to have a lot of fixings for baked potatoes because I saw sour cream and chives and a couple of other things I don’t recall as well. Out of the three pork meats I had I particularly enjoyed the sausage which was very good and tasty and went well together with the barbecue sauce. The ribs had a few hard pieces on it which is why did not give the place five stars but nevertheless I enjoyed them very much as I had barbecue sauce all over my hands and face. If you’re in the mood for brisket I don’t think this is the right place for you since I didn’t notice it on the menu. But if you like ribs and sausage and any other type of barbecue including baked potatoes then this might be the right spot for you and I would highly recommend giving it a try if you haven’t already.

This past Sunday was my first time to ever visit a Pappas BBQ, and I did so on a third and last date… First the food, the brisket was great. It was seasoned well and marbled just enough. I was a bit surprised to hear that a BBQ chain was out of pork ribs and pickles!!! However, the staff was quite nice and accommodating to my dry humor. As I began my sandwich, it quickly ended as I stormed out once my date shared the fact that he has been married for 26 years!!! I’ll probably be back, but hopefully with a new boo…
