Confusing set up when you walk in the door. Completely self-serve at nearly $ 15 a person for LUNCH. Horrible experience. Fatty meat, watery tasteless sauce. NEVERAGAIN! YUCK!

Honestly, I’ve had far better BBQ on the side of the road in FL in front of a Baptist Church or even in Long Island, NY at Smokin Al’s. We didn’t realize when we went to eat here that it is a chain restaurant with a drive-thru window & the food is sub par. When we asked people in town, not that there are actually very many people around town, they all said Papas; it was disappointing to be honest. The mac & cheese was good, the yams were way too sweet, the meat was ok, not too tender at all & the sauce was incredibly too sweet. I would never go back & can’t understand why there is literally a line out the door.

Walked with a few co-workers a couple of blocks down the street for lunch yesterday. .. I had NOIDEA there was a Pappa’s BBQ in the vicinity, probably because there is a 6-inch sign hanging from above, right as you approach the door from outside. I am not a huge BBQ fan but everyone else seems to LOVE this place! I ordered the Turkey and sausage po-boy. The turkey never disappoints here, always moist and so flavorful. The sausage is pretty average and I am not a big fan of their sweet, smokey bbq sauce. It is the best BBQ place within walking distance from the office downtown so I’m sure we’ll be back. Texans and their BBQ. .. ;)
