Have been here before and food was good. Must be new cook or management. Food was bland and lemonade sour. Service from the manager was terrible. We wanted to pay separate checks for a party of 9 and were told can’t on the weekends. first of all we should have been told from start. Second it is not written anywhere.

Worst service ever! My husband asked for a Michelada and got it in a broken glass. They took too long to serve our food and they forgot one order. When time came to pay, they took the liberty of assuming everything would be on one ticket. In a party of nine they refused to separate our tickets because it’s weekend policy. The manager snared and gave us a bad attitude denying the ability to separate the orders. The owner had to approve first. The lemonade was too sour and the food was not that great for the price. Would have returned had food been good at the very least, but that along with the customer service, just not worth the trip. My opinion — go elsewhere!

This place has probably become my favorite restaurant… in the whole country lol. I had my first Michelada here and I’ll never forget it. We opted for the Steak and Shrimp Fajitas. It was delicious and very filling for 2 people. It was actually pretty cheap as well. The décor make you feel like you’re in a shack off the beach and the food taste like my friends Mexican grandmother is the chef. There’s is a very homey feel and you can tell all of the people in the restaurant are regulars. It’s truly authentic food that I’ve never had anywhere else.

All in all it wasn’t terrible. I’ve had much worse but I’ve had much better. I had the octopus cocktail to start. I thought it would be somewhere along the lines of a ceviche with octopus but it was pretty much octopus in a cup served with crackers. Luckily, I like octopus. I had fajitas for my entrée which was very tasty and was filling for one person. The service was probably the worst part. We were constantly without drinks, napkins, plates, and many other essential things. The environment of the place was interesting. At the beginning there was a mariachi band. They retired after a bit and a DJ from a local Spanish radio station took over and began singing karaōke. I thought it was a karaōke night but he was the only one singing so I have no idea what was really going on. It was worth a shot but I wouldn’t go back!

This place is spacious, clean and affordable. They have a wide variety of dishes and beverages to choose from. Its well worth trying if you’ve never been.

Service was fast and good. Received our fish with in 20 min of ordering. This lead us to believe it was precooked. It was still tasty and the rice is Chinese fried rice. The bread is buttered and soft but crunchy on the out side. There is plenty of authentic Mexican seafood and lots of choices. The drinks are large. No refills necessary. We went at 4pm and it wasn’t packed inside. Parking is limited so we parked near the hotel. Word of advise hide all valuables and if you can take your valuables inside. There are cameras and warning signs posted. We were not so lucky.

NEVERCOMINGBACKHEREEVERAGAIN! They are very dirty and the food was raw. The cups were very dirty that you can still see they didn’t clean it. And then the plates had dirty stains. We asked to get another plate and a cup cause it was dirty. Then she went back and brought some clean ones. But then it was still dirty and the cup had rice floating in it. And there was a hole on the floor which someone can easily fall which is dangerous!!! I can’t even think coming here again. Is disgusting!!! I give them 1star!!! Poor!

First off this place is hard to get to going north on the 1 – 45. You have to exit the exit before you even come close to the beltway or you’ll overshoot your exit and drive around under the spaghetti looking freeway mess above and out of your way unless there is a secret backstreet I’m unaware of. Upon entering I was pleasantly greeted by a hostess. The interior is very outdated but I didn’t care because I was getting my food to go. BTW they are open till 1 am on the weekdays. I was given an extensive menu with some pictures of the food. This is mainly a Mexican seafood restaurant but you don’t have to order seafood. I love yummy Mexican seafood especially whole fried fish. I ordered a whole fried fish(forgot what kind-pic attached) which came topped with shrimp, calamari and a couple other fresh chopped types of seafood and fresh green onions. It was late at night so sorry about forgetting all the details. It also came with a rice that complimented the fish and I asked for refried beans. It took about 20 minutes to cook and I left. Well the fresh smelling food overcame my sense of smell and I had to open up my to go platter and immediately dig in. Oh everything was so fresh, hot, seasoned well and absolutely delicious! I ate like a starved person. My taste buds definitely say FAN! I’ll be back for sure. They have different kinds of whole fish available also. Just ask them for your preference. If you eat inside I would suggest sitting by the huge aquarium. It’s the most attractive décor inside the restaurant and separates the restaurant from the dimly lit bar.

This was my first time here. The food was good, the problem was that the menu was so big it was hard to choose.

The hostess didn’t even greet us! The food was just«edible» you are better off eating at a food truck! The quality of the food is definitely overpriced, everything tastes as if it was reheated.

This is the real deal! 5 stars for legit coastal Mexican food. Traditional recipes, loads of fresh food, fresh tortillas and chips served fast and sizzling, no frills no fuss. Must come back here– finally a reason to look forward to business meetings out at Greenspoint!

Despite not getting ostiones(oysters) at Ostioneria Michoacan, I still had a great meal and got in some Spanish practice. Thanks to the waitstaff for humoring the chinito speaking espanol with a bad accent. I know I nailed«hola» and«gracias» but not sure if anything else I said was correct. But I was there with a couple of Spanish speakers who probably told them to just humor me. What I lack in Spanish fluency, I make up for in a knowledge of good food, and this place serves it. Not the fanciest, not gourmet, but good food I could eat on a regular basis. The prices were a tad higher than I expected, because I was envisioning dirt cheap. But it is not expensive either for seafood — reasonable. We started with una botana de camarones. The shrimp were decent sized and fresh. They came in a slightly salty slightly spicy brown sauce that was delicious. Peel the shrimp, dip it in the sauce, and enjoy. It took a little longer than I expected for the entrees to come out, so the sauce made it onto some chips and crackers too and was still tasty. I ordered the blackened Tilapia with a few shrimps on top. It came out flavorful and tender, very good. The rice that came with it was plentiful and tasty. A vegetable medley managed to tag along for the ride too and added some nutrients to my meal after loading up on chips earlier. There was a mariachi band there for evening entertainment as well. The bar area looked fun and open late. It’s a little far from my house, but I like this place. Me gusta mucho.

This place is legit! The oysters are fresh. I love the boiled cajun shrimp. It was like eating crawfish!(I LOOOOOOVE crawfish) I would say it’s pretty authentic. Took some of my Mexican customers here and they loved it. They have a trio band and a mariachi as well. We payed the Mariachi band $ 200 to sit at our table and sing to us for the evening. Got bottles of Don Julio and 1800 Tequila. It was a very good evening and my clients were very happy.

A nice large Mexican seafood restaurant with a separate full bar area off the the side. Both the eating and bar areas are connected to an outdoor covered patio. The seafood plates I have tried so far have been great, yet their chicken fajitas are only so-so. The wait staff has always been great, and the managers at least once every time I have been there has made sure to stop and check on my table. The bar area can get a little crowded at times.

I love it. Fresh seafood creatively prepared. I was at a business meeting and we enjoyed the food so much, we ate here three times in a week. Good margaritas, fantastic oysters and excellent fried Red Snapper and shrimp(not to mention their signature baby octopus) make this the restaurant of choice for me in the Greenspoint area. Very reasonable prices too. All opposites of my review of Pappa’s Seafood which was poorly prepared, tasteless, and expensive. Do yourself a favor and, should you find yourself at Pappa’s, just cross the freeway.

Picked up my colleague who was coming into town but it was late and there were not too many options around. Someone suggested Ostioneria Michoacan because they were opened late. Place looked typical nothing fancy waiter and staff were friendly. I have to say I was very surprised, the food was great their Michelada was good. We ordered a few appetizers, amongst the appetizer was their fish ceviche, great flavor! I look forward to trying more items on the menu.

I’d passed this place for years, always saying, «I need to check that place out some time.» I wish I’d done so sooner; Ostioneria Michoacan is AWESOME! First off, they have the plumpest, tastiest oysters I’ve found in Houston in years. At first, I was a little miffed they don’t have horseradish, but the quality of the oysters and my discovery that mixing their cocktail sauce with the habanero hot sauce and a squeeze of lime soon had me changing my feelings about the«need» for horseradish. Second, the micheladas are freaking AWESOME! I am officially addicted. Third, the Parrillada de Huachinango was out of this world. The red snapper was perfectly cooked(as was everything else), and the seafood mix of shrimp, mussels, and calamari(they kindly omitted the pulpo at our request) was absolutely delicious. Finally, the portion sizes are very generous. My friend and I were both too full to finish our plates, and we do not have small stomachs. If you live on the north side and like Mex-style seafood, you MUST check Michoacan out!

This is my go-to place for reasonably priced, fresh Mex-style seafood on da Northside. Conveniently located, it’s a zip around the corner from my office, off a not-too scary section of the of I-45 North feeder(see my Taco Cabana review). The speciality here is seafood. Ostioneria Michoacan offers lunch, dinner, and late night – sometimes with a live band, but no desayunos. So far, my favorite dish to order here has been the Empanadas de Mariscos off the Hot Appetizer menu. For about $ 5.50, you get three sizable, deep-fried corn tortillas wrapped turnover style around a mixture of crab meat, shrimp, onions and spices. The empanadas are accompanied by shredded lettuce and tomato slices, a lime wedge and an orange slice. I douse the empanadas with limon and salsa verde and gobble them up with the tomato slices. Perfecto. I’ve tried the enchiladas verdes de camaron(shrimp) and the fried crawfish tails too, but nothing hits the spot like those empanadas. I plan on returning because it’s close to work, but it’s also a better bargain than the Pappas Seafood just on the other side of the freeway and its atmosphere is more subdued than Mambo’s up the street. The only drawback for me so far is the language barrier. I speak functional foodie Espanol. Perhaps my accent is just off the chain bad or we had a jacked up connection, but I could not for the life of me call in a simple order para llevar(to go, por favor). When I arrive and place the order in person, all is bien. Also, you have to ask for salsa, they don’t just automatically throw some in with your order. I had to find out the hard way the first time. Very upsetting to eat Mexican food salsa-less. Maybe next time will be mejor.

When they said«jalapeño salsa» they meant burn your tongue to your tummy kind of spice! My favorite dish(s) here is Clams in Jalapeño Salsa(it’s really mussels) or Shrimp, or Octopus, all drowning in what I believe is the hottest green peppers on earth blended with lemon and cilantro. The bartender gave me the tip yesterday of eating it with crackers which helped the burn a little bit. It’s a perfect appetizer for downing some good cold beer with! The place is very large, with a restaurant and bar section. They usually have live music going on at the bar area. Which is dimly lit and separated from the brighter restaurant section by a big beautiful fish tank. The whole area is usually very well air conditioned, so make sure to bring a jacket if you go here. They have a very extensive menu of seafood including red snapper, talapia, and catfish. I don’t eat fish but my friends usually order them and it comes with the whole fish, head and all. They have fried, or grilled so you can kind of be a little bit healthier of you want. The service is very professional and quick. I’ve always had a good time here but I think they’ve been out-shined by other well known places close by like Lupe Tortilla and Tokyohana(to name a few). If you’re around this area, bypass all the brighter shinier places along the road and give this place a spin.
