Hands down the best BBQ I’ve ever had. Tried the chicken and pulled pork. Ate the brisket and sausage. All four were the best I’ve had. The sauce was perfection. The beans had bacon in them. They were delicious. The potato salad… 10⁄10. 5 stars. Hands down the best. Highly recommended. Get there early, though! They will sell out.

These folks are at the West Alabama Ice House on Saturdays — it is some of the best bbq that I have ever had — simply delicious. It comes straight from the pit and they make your plate right in front of you. The folks that run this operation are always super friendly!

Absolutely without question the best BBQ in Houston! So worth it — an outdoor grill with nothing but meat straight Heaven. Eat there outside or take it home… when I take it to go though I can never make it home without eating at least half of it…

Great bbq in East Texas. Great atmosphere when you combine their smoker with the Alabama Ice House. The meat was tender and flavorful, correctly seasoned, and the sides were great too. Nice folks, good place, good meat.

This place has every bit earned the title! In a fit of craving, I stalked down OMGBBQ’s Brian on Twitter to find out where and when he might have a beef rib. Next day as indicated I brought a friend to Fitzgerald, and he even remembered me! I have to tell you, he sliced me off a beef rib, beans and potato salad and you would have thought I was in heaven! Came apart easily with a plastic fork and just enough crispy edges to treat it like jerky. I am seriously already drooling for another one. This is no-frills at its absolute finest! Screw the 30m drive for the 45m wait for Killien’s(although he would have been the one to beat for my taste), unless you want his banana pudding. You won’t even want to put BBQ sauce on the crust of this pecan-smoked goodness. I am rooting for him getting a brick and mortar in the Heights. HUGE fan now! Thanks for feeding me, Brian! Rooting for your success.

These guys come to West Alabama Ice House ever Tuesday and Saturday. Goooood eats! Ask for extra bbq sauce on the side. Only thing they could use is some pickles and onions

Met up with a friend at West Alabama Ice House. Looks like this place replaced the old(blechh) food truck. Bad ass bbq. Check it out. A little higher in price, but definitely worth it. Owner is a real cool guy.

So I rarely ever eat out on my own. But one food I will spend money for is quality barbecue. I was at Fitzgerald’s for a show until midnight and was already starved by 9:00, so I would no doubt faint without some food. But I saw there was BBQ out underneath that tent and figured I might as well make the most of this trip. First good sign is that the meat is still on the grills and smokers, with smoke billowing out. Next is that the guy running the pits was very friendly and appreciative of your business, passionate about what he does, knowledgeable about barbecue, and knows what his favorite selections are and why. He knows good BBQ doesn’t need sauce. And he will prove it by letting you taste it. There is so much smoke and crust on the brisket that the name«OMG» is right. And when cut up into a sliced brisket sandwich(his favorite), it loses nothing at all. The sauce, even though he doesn’t put much on, complements the meat perfectly by not taking over the smoky flavor. Reportedly, the ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, but when I eat out, I get something I don’t get at home very often or at all. Especially if I’m paying extra for it. Because that is the one issue here. Despite the complete absence of any ambience or frills, a sandwich on a regular sesame seed bun costs $ 8(and a plate $ 14). This edges on Goode Co. BBQ prices, which have become too unreasonable for me to return there. Consider the rapid service without tax or tip to accustom to spending $ 8 in a city where one can obtain this same size sandwich for $ 5. And realize that the outstanding food quality justifies some of the premium. Still, if it cost even a little less, I would say OMG more, and would award 5 stars much more quickly. It barely made 5 stars because the food was just so spectacular.

OK, instead of writing a long-winded paragraph extolling the ambrosia that is Boogie’s OMGBBQ, I’ll just cut to the chase and say that this is some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had in Houston. I understand that«best» can be highly subjective and sounds hyperbolic, but their BBQ is the real deal. Their meats are tender and flavorful, and the sides tasty. Give it a try the next time you’re in the mood for BBQ. You will not be disappointed.

Boogie hits the spot when I have a hankering for BBQ and am too lazy to get in the car to go anywhere else. I probably would not frequent as often as I do if I couldn’t walk to his corner, but I am always satisfied after I have finished gorging myself. Everything is pretty tasty but be careful of biting through the bones in the ribs. I know Texas BBQ is all about low and slow, but his rib are often so «tender» that you can bite right through the bone in the middle.

Boogie cooks up some pretty fantastic RIBS and BOUDIN!!! You can usually find him at the corner across from Big Woodrows and Fitzgerald on White Oak. My friends and I actually met Boogie at a Westchase Bar called the King’s Head. He cooked their STEAKS for them on Wednesday nights. We never had the opportunity to try them, but they smelled ahhhmazing! Boogie uses a dry rub on his ribs and he serves it up with a heaping of potato salad and baked beans. It was pretty tasty stuff! You should catch Boogie if you can, his BBQ won’t disappoint :)
