The food is actually pretty good here. The atmosphere is decent as well. The menu is a little cookie cutter for a Japanese restaraunt with a bunch or rolls. It was very pricey for what we got. But I will be returning!

Have had a good experience both times I have gone. Sushi is very good as are the small plates. Service was good, too.

That was the smallest sashimi pieces I have ever seen. I felt robbed afterwards. I ordered 2 orders of salmon that cost $ 25.60. I told them this is baby salmon you are supposed to throw them back and let them grow. There are so many better sushi places out there. I will never go back.

Food was fresh, portions(other than the salad) were enormous, tasty and paced well in being served. Great value for lunch, too! I’ll definitely be back as it is such a convenient location for shopping, my kids schools and home. :)

Friendly servers Sushi is very good and the fish is very fresh. I recommend the caterpillar rolls, eel rolls, avocado rolls. Very coxnsitent and reasonably priced. Have been for lunch and dinner. Lunch service is quick like you would want/expect lunch service to be. Takeout service is also prepared very quickly.

It wasn’t the worst experience but very unimpressed. The service is slow and inattentive, the sushi tasted like 2 day old grocery store sushi. The fried rice was pretty good. We won’t be coming back here. I even saw some of the bad reviews on here and my hubby and I decided to give it a try anyways. At least we know now!

Poor service. Wife ordered Prosecco. Seemed that they tried to give her the last glass from yesterday’s bottle, in a brandy glass. Skip the sunomono. Expensive for the quality, at least in regards to sashimi/rolls.

This place is gross. Service was slow and inattentive. Food was mediocre. Would rather go to higher end sushi restaurant for much better quality and service for same price.

Saturday lunch time. Not a single empty parking spot around. The restaurant is half empty. Nice friendly waitress. Sushi and sashimi platter — one of the most expensive options on the menu, which we decided to split between the two of us. Limited assortment, tiny pieces. Totally unimpressed. We both agreed to never visit again.

Delicious and great service! The sushi was super fresh and for a great price, and it’s a great place for sushi newbies! It does get packed during lunch hour, but it’s worth it, especially if you come near the end.

Good service and our local go-to for sushi. Always fresh and full of flavor. Lots of interesting combinations for the rolls and the servers have always recommended excellent rolls when we couldn’t decide. It’s our favorite restaurant and we dine here regularly.

Nice family owned place. Noodles were great, might be made in house. Sushi was good but not the best ever. Service was kind and attentive. Price was fair for the area and quality. I’ll go back.

I love this place — its not your usual sushi place, but it IS awesome. The food here is very good — fresh and presented to you in a most appealing fashion. The selection of fresh fish is very good and so are the appetizers. If you can eat pork, get the wasabi shumai. Yes, shumai is Chinese for dumpling, but the wasabi shumai here are awesome!!! I highly recommend that you order these :) VERY tasty! Some negatives: the service is hit or miss. I’ve been here when you’re wondering if they are off catching your tuna off the coast of Japan, or if they are busy doing something else. Everything else is good — never had bad food here — its just the service that is slow. If you are in the area, stop here. You won’t be sorry.

Grocery store sushi. We have been here before and really liked it, this time nothing tasted fresh. The soy sauce tasted watered down. Nothing tasted good, just bland except for the Japanese Nachos. They tasted great but were very sloppy and impossible to eat in one bite. The ambiance is fun, young, décor is nice, the food is blah. We will go back to Sushi Jin next time and not here.

My husband and I stop here weekly for a quick roll and a drink before heading home. It is usually packed on the weekend with Memorialites, but is walk in ready Monday through Thursday. Would also tell you their Miso Soup is devine and perfect during months Novemeber-Feb.

I love the sushi here. Fish is fresh and lots of specialty rolls to choose from. Service can be a little slow during busy peak hours which is a con. I also think it maybe a Japanese owner which isn’t common.

Houston economy is booming. That’s how I ended up here. The 2 places I stopped at had hour waits for a table, so this was close by, and no wait. First bad sign: all the sushi chefs are Mexican. I don’t have anything against Mexicans, but, I have found a correlation between poor quality sushi and Mexican sushi chefs. I skipped the sushi and had the seafood tempura. They must use the same batter as Krispy Cream donuts Served cold. And with a fork. There does seem to be a following, so I guess a large number of houstonites think this is really Japanese cuisine. Service was poor. I rarely rate any restaurant a 1. This is a one.

I guess this is my first and also last time eating at this place. Totally wasted about $ 7 bucks on a couple pieces of frozen pale-colored tuna!!! The tartar was as sour as lemon. where was the wasabi ponzu sauce stated on the description??? Moreover, the dish size was extremely small.

My family and I have been coming here for years now. We live in the area and it is consistent in several areas: parking, available seating(I know I wil not be waiting in line on a Friday night), and the menu does not change at all. Here are the big variables: service Since we are considered regulars and eat relatively an early dinner; service can be excellent. Sometimes it can be extremely slow! There was a time there seem to be a revolving door with the wait staff; however, that seems to be changing. If you do happen to come in when they are busy, the wait time can be long. The rolls are lackluster. I think I tried majority of the rolls and I still can’t find one to write about. I would say this is the biggest bummer regarding this restaurant. We love the tuna tartare and the agadashi tofu. The Udon noodles are great. Sashimi is yummy, and I would recommend the peppered tuna.

Get the Rodeo roll! The Alaska and Vegas rolls were also recommended — i would say pass on the Alaska, and the Vegas was ok We got the Escolar sashimi plate to start and the tostadas — both excellent
