Good packed street tacos! 5 came out to $ 7. Lots of dessert drinks, raspas, etc too. Small space for seating and parking.

This place surprised the hell out of me. Don’t be discouraged by the area this is located. With all of houston’s strict zoning laws you’d think that this place wouldn’t be located in what seems to be chop-shop central in Houston. But being how the zoning laws actually are, I guess it’s okay. You walk inside to a glimpse into little Mexico. It’s simple, the menu is laid out in the best way, and you have a picture of just about everything they have to offer. I had breakfast tacos and an horchata(milk rice and cinnamon drink that is very common in mexican cuisine). The tacos were good. The eggs were cooked perfectly as was the bacon it just lacked seasoning and I really wish they had bigger portions. The horchata gets a whole paragraph to itself. The drink comes in a transparent, plastic to-go cup and is dressed to the T with just enough ice, a few fresh strawberries, and cinnamon sprinkled along the rim and over the top of the drink. This was just enough cinnamon to bring out the best taste in the drink and not enough to overpower it. Perfection-hands down the best horchata I have ever had. If I had my way and money I would try just about everything on their menu and give better feedback but I would be lying if I didn’t say that it made me want it all. I can’t even argue a high price. Even though there’s probably cheaper alternatives parked in gas stations along main roads scattered across town, I don’t think they match this place. It’s just not fathomable. Tl;dr Missing a star for basic/small breakfast tacos. Definitely a recommendation for refreshments and any other snack you could ever dream of having. Yes, even Frito Pies and Hot Cheetos and cheese.

The food is 5 stars. There is nothing I have tried at El Quijote that I do not like, especially with the reasonable prices. However, many times, I have pre-ordered take-out with an estimated wait of 15 minutes, and when I have gotten there, I have had to wait like 15 minutes more. They can take ridiculously long sometimes, but when it comes down to it, it’s pretty worth it.

So many times have I passed by this place and never stopped, glad I finally did. This place has great typical Mexican street style food. You can bring your own beer and try the various different michelada mixes they offer. I will definitely become a regular at this place.
