One of the worst hotdogs that I have ever eaten in my life. The skin was so tough that I could hardly bite into it. Then, I had to spit out said skin as I couldn’t chew it. I only give it one star as the chili cheese fries were fair(but they give you a flimsy, two-pronged miniature fork to eat them with… which kinda sucked).

I am originally from New York and this Nathan is just like the ones in New York. It has the best hot dogs, not the skinless ones found in grocery stores, and the best french fries by far. No other fast food chain can come close to their fries.

I have made it over there a few times. I have never eaten at any other Nathan’s so I can’t compare it to any of the others but I am told that this location is one of only a few outside of New York that actually uses the same hot dog that you get at their first location in Coney Island. There are only a few hot dog places in town and the majority are the fancy type, this is not. No pretzel roll bun or crazy Sriracha infused mustard, just and American made hot dog At first I would get the Chili Cheese dogs since like most Houstonians that is what I grew up eating but now I only get them plain and add their Deli Mustard with chopped onions. Each bun is toasted to order and the dogs come off of a flat grill. As said before the dog gives you a nice snap when you bite down on it and I can say that it is the best tasting hot dog, not a rolled up piece of bologna like others. The fries are very nice, thick crinkle cut that if you get them when they just come out of the fryer they are not and crispy on the out side and creamy in the middle. Overall I think its a great choice when at the food court. Great lemonade They also have an orangade but never tried it My mother loves the corn dog nuggets They also have some seafood items New York people can get their sauerkraut fix

So my coworker and I decided to trek it to the mall for lunch because there were more options. For some reason I had been craving some good junk food and Nathans caught my attention. I was really willing to accept an oil-slicked faced for the rest of the day just to enjoy some hot crunchy fries and a Nathans corn dog. Bad decision! Now I’m not sure what elevated meal I was expecting, but I got tasteless fries and a corndog that was no competition to the frozen non-name brand cousin at your local grocery. Maybe I have just outgrown certain nostalgic food items that impressed me so much a few years. Naw… that’s not it. Just didn’t care for this place.

Heard there was an authentic Nathan’s at Memorial City Mall… I am not from New York, but wanted to try it out, so we went today. Very tasty Hot Dog that pops when you bite it. Yum !
