What a fun place! My wife and I went for the Comedy Magic Show. There were families there with kids as well. Clean fun, good magic, lots of laughs. We can’t wait to come back and try the actual murder mystery dinners. They have created the place to look like you are walking around in a Clue game. All of the fun rooms, props, etc. The setting alone is fun to explore. There is also a coffee shop so go early and enjoy a cup of coffee or a homemade milkshake made with real ice cream vs the soft serve stuff.

We had a great time! The dinner was perfectly reasonable, but we came for the show and really enjoyed it.

Probably the best kept secret in Houston. A wonderful atmosphere with fun staff, good food, and wonderful desserts. The murder mystery was a blast, and otherwise a great place to relax or study.

Great experience! Great food! Clean, family-fun. On the fence on taking my wife here… but she LOVED it! We both loved the experience. The show was led by a great actor; he perfectly led the role of host, sleuth and comedian. He loves what he does and it shows. The remaining characters will filled by other guests. I played a small role. It was a nice format, it was easy to read the script on cue. I was given a partial costume and props! The plot was a little difficult to understand; our table was baffled on naming the«murderer». Even with the answer, my wife and I agree it would been difficult to put the clues together. But, we still enjoyed the show. The dinner; Caesar salad, pasta, vegetables and the grilled chicken was fantastic. The chicken came with an optional marcela sauce; great for me. The chicken was the best I’ve had in a long time. Grilled and seasoned just right. Tender and a generous portion.

This place is, by far, one of the neatest places I’ve ever been taken to on date-night. A friends of ours gave us two tickets for the«Whodunnit Theatre» which we thought were dinner and dessert tickets. We didn’t find out dinner wasn’t included until the very end of the show, which was severely disappointing considering we had chosen to not eat anything prior to coming to this nearly two-hour long episode. We called and made the reservation and confirmed that our gift tickets were valid and good to go. This would have been an excellent time for the reservationist to explain that dinner was not included and this show consisted of dessert only.(I take a star off for this only.) I must admit, though, the reservationist was helpful in describing the dress code and other details first time guests could definitely use. From the staircase up to the door, it’s already a mystery and a thrill for a wannabe CIA agent like myself. The room at the top of the staircase appears to not have a door, but you can hear guests on the other side of the wall. After ringing a bell, the wall flips and you are sealed on the other side. Pretty neat stuff. The reservationist checks you in, and escorts you to a waiting area which is also a coffee shop.(Note to fellow Unilocalers: Check in to get a free house coffee while you wait!!!) There are puzzles and games and brainteasers to play with while you wait. We chose a game or three of Uno before finally going in to the theatre. The host/security guard– Nat, was a blast. I was picked to be one of the suspects in our night’s mystery, so that made my experience ten times better. After dessert, I was asked to come to the front of the room with the other three suspects and given a few lines to read which add to the mystery’s clues. Shortly thereafter, you are released in your teams to explore the other rooms, gather clues, and whoever solves the mystery first– with hard evidence– wins a «quarter» of a million dollars. Very clever. Super place. I would definitely come back to another show– hopefully one with dinner included!(If it weren’t so expensive!!! The actual dinner show is more expensive than the simple dessert show, which I personally don’t think is worth it, but if you have the money to spend, go for it!) Next on my mystery list: Escape the room, Houston!!!

We had a family reunion at our Murder By Chocolate event, to celebrate the 65th birthday of my sister. It was a fantastic venue and evening! I highly recommend for any occasion. One of the tables was an office group, and one was celebrating a couple’s anniversary. But really, just go for a fun night out! Entertaining and the night flew by! Thanks to the great staff!

Did a «surprise» date and was not disappointed at all. Great interactive show(I played Judge Ty D. Knot), food was excellent(can’t go wrong with Carrabba’s catering) and all of it super organized. My date had a blast(which was most important). Our host(his real name escapes me) led the night wonderfully. It’s well worth the money… lots of laughs, great food and environment!

This was so much fun! Went there today for my Moms bday and played Out of a Time. The game was both fun and challenging. We all had a really great time. Definitely going back for another scenario. Staff was nice and venue was really cool.

We weren’t sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised by this little dinner/dessert theater. It’s located in a strip mall over a liquor store. But, once inside, it’s like being a part of a Clue game. The desserts were good and the acting just cheesy enough to be fun.

Loved it! I had bought the groupon for Outta Time and for some reason I expected it to be you just locked in a room trying to figure out how to stop a bomb. I was wrong, it was so much more. Set to the theme of clue there were several rooms that you could run back and forth to, you have a ticking sound in the background that speeds up every 5 mins so it just amps you up more to keep going and figure everything out faster. It was just a lot of fun and wasn’t too hard or too easy. You could definitely tell that the workers loved what they are doing and that really shows. When we were done we were shown around the rest of the place, and you can tell that time and effort went into everything. I love the fact that they have several other murder mystery themes to do so you will never get tired and feel like you’re doing the exact same thing over and over. They have a café and serve food and coffee, I’ll definitely have to try it out next time we go, and there will be a next time!

Brought my two boys(8 and 15) and we all had a great time. Food was pretty good, desserts were great. Only thing I think holding me back from 5 stars was the price. The prices are pretty steep for a family outing. Other than that, I think they did a great job. We will consider going back in the future.

This place is truly unique and lots of fun! In general, the Clear Lake area is pretty suburban and bland, so Murder by Chocolate definitely stands out. The staff enjoy what they do and create a lively atmosphere. Besides the mystery-solving dinner theater and all that, I would come here just to hang out as well. I liked the layout. It was fun to just look around and they’ve been careful not to let the construction they’re doing get in the way at all. The coffee was good, more of a dessert coffee but I like that. I’m going to come back and bring people that visit as well. If you’re laid back and like to have a good time, you shouldn’t wait to come check this place out. They’re on Groupon as well, which I appreciate.

I’ve been here several times for the coffee and environment and love it every time. I bring my friends here and they love it. It is cozy and creative and the drinks are delicious. Although I haven’t participated in the mystery dinner theater yet, everything else about it so far is wonderful.

My parents were in town and we took them to see Tristan the Magician on Thursday(New Year’s Eve) and had no idea what to expect… It was great! We had so much fun! Tristan was genuinely funny, engaging, and talented. The magic show is perfect for all ages. My husband and I can’t wait to come back for the café and for the murder mysteries!

A group of friends and I came here for a birthday, and we had the best time! They included the birthday girl in their act, and she loved it! Thanks for making her day that much better. Although, the food quality and portions were a bit skimpy for the price, but we came for the experience more than the food and got it! :-)
