Went last week with my husband… And honestly it sucked bad. First no one greets you when you walk in… We didnt know what to do, since this was our first time, so we just sat down… Our wait for a server was about 10 min. I guess not too bad since it was a bit busy. One server came by to give us the menu. Then left, another 10 min went by, she came back to ask us for our drinks, we gave them to her. Another 10 min went by and another server came by asking what we’d like to drink. Because the other server had forgotten. Finally after 35 min we get our drinks(which was not good i got the pina drink and it taste old and almost gone bad) and ordered. Not only was the menu so plain and confusing everything was complicating. All i wanted was 3 tacos plain with beans, rice and cream. With one quesadilla. She told me that everytjing came in diffrent plates and times… We waited about 30 – 40 more mintues after that and once our food came it was pretty cold. The meat was not cooked well and the rice was awful. And to top it off i never got my quesadilla. No one came by to ask if we were fine. We got up and asked for the check. Never again will i go to this place waist of my money. And everything was so expensive.

Must try the Trompo beef! It’s just like the street tacos we used to get in Los Algodones Baja California! This is real Mexican food, not the typical Tex-Mex stuff they try to pass off as Mexican food around here. The Tripas and Menudo are great too!

Went there for breakfast with my brother on a Friday morning… my first impression was how clean and immaculate the place was… the breakfast plates started with their borracho beans with generous, fresh condiments of cilantro, onion and lime to season your food to your liking… everything was piping hot and so delicious… oh, and the red and green chilled salsas from the squeeze bottles to douse your food… yes…the service was warm and responsive… I even forgot my credit card there, and was welcomed graciously by the server when I returned… excellent on all points, will be back next time I am in the area!!! Keep up the great work!!!

UPDATE(3÷31÷16): The portions have gotten smaller and prices have gone up. Taste remains the same. The staff does not know how to deal with large families with rowdy children and allow them to interfere with other patrons. Lowering to 2 Stars. — — — — — — — - The flavor of the food is great and delicious! We love the tacos. Customer service is what brought the review from a 4 star to a 3 star. Most of the staff seems to not want to be there or look angry. They don’t acknowledge everyone at the table if there is one Hispanic(typically me) at the table. I have to translate EVERY time i go because they don’t even try to ask the others what they would like. They temporarily check on you for refills but get annoyed if you want something additional or if something brought out is incorrect.

I love the trompo meat here compared to other places I’ve tried so far. The green sauce is amazing. I love how spicy and flavorful it is. I always buy a big bowl of it to take home and eat with chips or leftover fajita meat I have left! Service is meh. That’s why I usually take to go.

Mr. Trompo is sooooo good. Ohmygaaad. First off, I thought that their michelada is decent. Not the best, but good enough. The bean soup they serve(for free) as appetizer tasted very authentic. I dont really like beans but I def would eat that soup again. For my main entrée, I ordered the Trompo Special tacos –(five MINI tacos) Yummy!!! It was delish! I very much enjoyed my meal. As far as service goes, I thought they were a little slow but I didnt mind. Nonetheless, I definitely would come back again. PS. the red sauce they serve is pretty damn spicy. Four stars because there arent any free chips & salsa to munch on.

Always great food. I’m there at least once a week. Enjoy the beans every time. Service has improved from years back. Enjoy the authenticity taste of the food.

When the owner is not here the food sucks and service is horrible. Reheated food and black avacados. Only go in morning by evening time service and food no good.

When you sit down they give you onions and limes and cilantro, this you will want to put in everything else you get. The beans everyone is served as an appetizer really set the stage for how authentic everything tastes. Best hangover cure: large horchata and a Huevos Mr. Trompo, order it with flour tortillas, mix everything on the plate, squirt a little of the green sauce and then, cured.

I ordered the barbacoa tacos and they were okay but needed seasoning(I’ve been spoiled with Laredo’s). I can’t remember what it was my boyfriend ordered but I think it had the trompo meat and they were actually really good. The limonada is also very yummy! I’m sure we’ll go back!

I love Mr. Trompo! I’ve tried Tacos del Julio and the trompo served here is way better. I am also a big fan of their enchiladas and frijoles especiales. The food tastes authentic! I can’t say the same about their bistec or fajita. I only come for the trompo, which is also known as al pastor. Their handmade maize tortillas are also really good! I come to this place maybe once every two weeks, and the service is usually really good. There’s one or two servers who aren’t that attentive, but they are all genuinely very nice. The only reason I don’t give this place 5 stars is because their bistec isn’t good. Other than that I love this place because its soo cheap!

Food: Okay, I’ve had far better Mexican food Service: all the employees look at me like I’m lost or I’m not supposed to be there O. o Price: decent for a good amount of food Place: nah. loud music(I mean LOUD) aren’t my thing, and it doesn’t look very nice inside, it looked clean though Bottom line: worth trying but I’m not planning on going back

If you’ve ever been to Tacos Del Julio then you’ll realize that the menu and the concept is just about identical. Not as good as Del Julio but its still decent and the tacos are better than anybody else in the general area of highway 6 and bellaire. Menudo was just ok and the campechana tacos were good. Barbacoa was also decent but not great.

The tacos al pastor are delicious and so far this is my favorite joint to get them at. You get 5 tacos in one order so it’s a satisfying meal. The pineapple that comes on top of it are so sweet and that’s what makes me go back to this place. The complimentary charro beans is also a +!

In my past review, I gave them three stars, and unfortunately, I have to bump it down to one. I say unfortunately, because I’ve been here several times since my review and the owners are nice and the food is good when they are present. I ate there on Monday, when the owners were not present, and the food was disgusting. The tacos were so greasy that they took the trompo meat, put oil on it, took corn tortillas, soaked them in oil, and the end result is that there was no flavor in them. The charro beans tasted horribly, much like beans, water, and something spicy without any flavor. The wait staff were not friendly, and didn’t care. They acted like it was a huge hassle for them to actually do their jobs. Not only were they rude, but they did really dumb things, such as putting a bowl of onions directly in front of a baby, or not knowing what carne asada is. Seriously, it was bad. So I won’t be going back, if you read my reviews of Mexican restaurants(if I don’t have a list set up already I’ll set one up soon) you can get other options, although in this area I’m not really a fan of any others.

This place is probably one of the better taco spots in the area, aguas frescas are very good, and the complementary charro beans are very very close to being homemade in it’s flavor. We go here about 2 or 3 times a month or whenever the taco crave hits.

This location, like all the others, offers a complimentary bowl of spicy charro beans rather than the usual chips and salsa before your meal. I love that. If you get full then at least it was beans and not chips. The tacos, while greasy, are delicious and honestly, the lard is what makes them as close to a Mexican taco stand in Mexico. This particular location has spotty service at best but dangit, their Wednesday all you can eat tacos of bistec or trompo for only $ 10 are to die for.
