Mr Guillory’s Master Barber Shop

Like many, I checked reviews & pics & was confident I’d be happy w/​the end results. Overall the look of the hair cut was good. Only 2 barber’s in the shop very suspect, both barber’s have a beer can on their counter obviously suspect, my barber was friendly & paid attention to what I wanted. Notice I mentioned that this was in the evening however my barber was on 4:20 time… at that point I should a ran! But nope, I had a unexpected date night w/​the Misses & needed a fresh cut fast. It’s a miracle my ears were still attached at the end of the cut. While fading me up he was holding the comb underneath the clippers, constantly scrapping my ears up & down… I would think the flaming red skin would be a sign ur causing me great discomfort. The one thing I clearly stressed was my facial hair. I did not want a straight or thin mustache. When I was handed the mirror the thick slightly tapered stache I was expecting was not there. Instead I got a straight not so thick stache… thanks bro! I paid the man & ran, won’t be back. No need to offer a free cut. Mr. G I doubt the other barber’s are colder w/​the clippers.

Went today to get my haircut at noon, shop was closed hours clearly posted 7am-​9pm open today.

Wanted a Mohawk fade style haircut. I could have been a little more specific because I wasn’t too thrilled about it. But he did a good job in a way. Forgot what his name was. I’ll give this place another chance in the coming months. Not bad though.

The search for a decent barbershop is twice as hard when you’re on the road. Being a good Unilocaler, I checked reviews, distance, and price which led me to Mr. Guillory’s shop. From what I read I expected an old-​school barbershop that was loved by the community.
The joint only had one barber working, which I thought was odd, but it wasn’t a high traffic area so I disregarded the situation. Should have listened to my gut. The guy was friendly enough and I showed him pictures from my last good haircut, so he would know exactly what I was looking for. Upon reviewing the photos his first comment was «I can style your hair if you like, but that’ll be 5 bucks extra.»
«Style my hair as in use gel?» I asked. He replied «Yes.» This was new territory for me because I’d never had an upsell on gel at the end of a haircut. It was always part of the service. That was red flag #1. I declined and he started cutting.
Then he dropped his scissors. Thankfully, he got a new pair from his drawer. Then he dropped his comb. Thankfully, it wasn’t needed for the rest of the cut. Those were red flags #2.
At the end of the cut I looked into the hand mirror and saw a «not quite» flattop and a skinny mustache, neither of which had been in the photo I showed him. I had given up at that point and just paid the man even though it ended up being more than I expected because of upsells like «a razor» (3 dollars) and «a beard trim» (15 dollars) — Red Flag #3. I could have gone to the better barbershops for those prices.
When I got into the car and looked closer in the rear view mirror it just added insult to injury, the thin mustache was crooked. Oy vey.
I’ll give Mr. Guillory the benefit of the doubt and assume I got the one barber who needed more training, but I won’t be returning to his shop to see if I’m right.

I just moved to this area and was looking for a decent haircut place. I stumbled upon this diamond in the ruff, and I have to say that they gave me The best haircut I’ve ever had! They take care of their clients, and don’t cut corners. I will always be coming back here for as long as it is open. Dee Williams cut my hair, and I recommend everyone to use him. I have not tried the other barbers, but when I find something good, I stick to it.

Jazzy is fantastic, I’m very particular about my haircut and not only did she nail the perfect swing bob she also gave me tips on some really fantastic products that will help my hair to look salon perfect every day! Highly recommend!

Not just a barber shop, Jasmine is the resident beautician and her work is on point. Recently she did my Marley twist and I’m getting nothing but compliments. Normally we wash, blow dry and flat iron, with a trim now and then. Jasmine does quality work and she’s honest about your hair and what’s best for it.

I absolutely love this barber shop for my son! I have been going to a few different places and had not found the right guy to cut his hair. We finally found Russ at Mr. Guillory’s Master Barber shop. I am always happy with the way my sons hair looks after a cut from him! He takes his time and makes sure his edge up is perfect!

Best haircut my son has ever had! (he’s 9) Tony did an awesome job and was meticulous in his work. We found our new home for my son’s hair!

Best haircut my husband has had in years! My husband is retired, so you know he’s had many haircuts! He’s been going to a local chain where you never find the same person to cut your hair. This is the real thing. Tony is a genuine Master Barber.
