Less than zero stars for me. It is really a shame that they care so little. At one point this company was one of the best in Houston. Now they are beyond incompetant and I would never use them or recommend them. They left my pool so out of balance in the PH that it deteriorated my plaster and all of my equipment beyond repair. I am shocked by their lack of professionalism and integrity. I would not trust them with anything. They have a different person every week that is employed by them for maintenance and they never know what they are doing. There are many other choices for maintenance and construction of pools and I will never use Monarch again.

As others have stated, if zero stars were an option, that would be my choice! The quality of service at this place is a joke! We have been using them for years and I don’t know if there has been a change in management or what, but the service has gone from mediocre to complete crap. Our pool is supposed to be cleaned 3 times a week and yet I have to call repeatedly to have them come back out after the guys have left because the pool is turning green. They have replaced equipment only to have it break a few months later. The girls in the service department, specifically Elsa are rude an not helpful. I would stay as far away from this sham of a business as possible.

I had the unfortunate experience of speaking with the owner of Monarch pools. He was one of the rudest people I have ever spoken with in regards to a problem with a product or service from a company. Monarch finished an installation of a pool(originally started by Monarch) that had been started and never finished many years earlier by a different home owner. Within the first year of the finished pool, the plaster had started to stain because of improper treatment of the existing material already there. Now, almost 6 years later the pool is full of stains and needs to be re-plastered and the owner refuses to acknowledge that it is their problem or mistake. I also had to replace the pipe for the polaris that was installed by Monarch and was told that was impossible because Monarch pools doesn’t use that material. Well… they did. The owner was very argumentative, defensive and basically said everything I told him wasn’t possible. It will take over $ 8000 to fix the improper finishing of my pool. I am a small business owner and can’t imagine ever speaking to a customer the way this man spoke to me.

Monarch Pool tried to over charge me and get me to replace my heater when all it needed was a repair which was less than 20% of the cost of a new heater. They also made a repair and charged me for a part(over double what other companies quoted) that I never authorized repair on. Very disappointed in the«scam» and lack of integrity.

We do not recommend Monarch Pools. The clearning service was adequate, but company communications are extremely poor. Our service man refused to come into the yard while our dogs were out — that was understandable. But, rather than ring the doorbell or calling to let us know he was here, he preferred to leave notes saying he couldn’t service the pool because our pets were out. Numerous times the company performed extra work without our authorization and billed us for it. We were also billed for pool chemicals, which were supposed to be included in the contract price, as well as a «fuel surcharge» that we did not authorize. The person in the office in charge of invoicing told us she was unable to determine what some of the the mysterious extra charges were for. Needless to say, we have switched pool companies! Monarch Pools is by far the most expensive company we researched in Houston and definitely not worth it in our opinion.

They’re right around the corner, available and reliable. The PVC just upstream of my Polaris pump’s intake springs a leak — ½ day later it’s fixed and they’ve mailed me the invoice. Just this morning, I called them at 9:00 because my main circulation pump isn’t pumping and my pool is taking on a slightly distasteful greenish hue. Before noon, the technician calls me to report he’s replaced a small part(spark arrester assembly, I think) and has charged the minimum in labor. The invoice is in the mail… My kind of pool place!
