The 3 stars is for the BBQ. Check out my review for legendary Lenox Bar-​B-​Q. Anyway, Lenox now caters their wood fired barbeque at Medel’s for lunch. You can taste wood fired BBQ that has been smoked the same way for 65 years just a few blocks east of Medel’s. A great venue to pop a cold one and enjoy some primal legendary BBQ. It doesn’t get any better than this!

My friends and I stumbled upon this dive bar after the Dynamo’s opening match a couple of weeks ago. We attempted to go to a bar across the street, but it was closed so we wandered over to Medel’s instead. I felt like the music stopped when my friends and I walked in because we were not regulars or part of a motorcycle gang. However, that feeling only lasted a few moments and the other patrons were very warm and friendly towards us. Medel’s expansive juke box selection contains a lot of country music to set the stage for some two-​stepping. The beers were cheap and they sell popcorn outside (they may have sell other items, but I don’t recall what specifically). I am giving Medel’s 3 stars because my friends and I had a great time that night. Medel’s isn’t for everyone. It’s located in a sketchy area of town, so I highly recommend going in a big group of people.
