Very Rude! Horrible customer service. I tried resolving a simple issue with a phone call about a pick up order that was wrong(overcharged). And the«manager» didn’t even have a listening ear, I was hung up on. Called back and no answer. This place will never get my service again!

Grabbed Sunday brunch this morning with a friend and this place did not disappoint. If you can get past the loud setting, cramped parking lot and close inside quarters, it is worth the experience of the food, service and atmosphere. Reservations is a must here as it is popular and busy on weekends. Ordered the Crème brûlée sourdough Texas French toast, chicken, collards and potatoes. My favorite were the three Cs… Crème brûlée sourdough French toast– Doused It with the warm hot syrup, to the point that the half loaf size sourdough was good and soggy when it hit my fork. Tried without the syrup and was just as good. Chicken– nicely lightly fried and seasoned well. Breast were boneless. The chipotle honey dipping sauce with the chicken did not arrive at the table until late but was worth dipping the last remaining parts(including fingers) to enjoy. Sauce has some bite but goes nice with the chicken. Collard greens-Ike spicy and not bitter as often found with restraints who attempt. Home cooked flavor. Compliments the chicken and French toast. Observation: I found it comical to hear Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash music playing in the backdrop considering the progressive crowd there chowing away.

I forgot how sad it is to have a disappointing food experience. I have been craving shrimpandgrits for a few days now and was waiting to cash a check so I could splurg on this experience. I wish I had just gone to bb’s… which is sad. I will say our server was very knowledgeable in wine and made some great suggestions, but the wine was overpriced. That’s probably the last positive thing to say. The shrimp were small, unimpressive and weak in flavor. The grits were hidden by the«broth» which unfortunately had no other flavor other than butter. It was impossible to eat anything on the plate without this overwhelming butter sauce. — This literally made me sick, I hurled before we left the restaurant and still feel sick. My friend got the fried chicken, it wasn’t crispy(so disappointing!) the mashed potatoes and collard greens were reminiscent of KFC– hardly any flavor other than salt and butter. The collard greens seemed canned and lacked any lively color or taste. We ended up taking the fried chicken home– hoping we can put it in the oven and make it a little crispy and whip up some edible sides. We paid 90 $ when the only thing we liked was the wine($ 18). I highly recommend finding some place else to grub and spend your money.

I’ve only eaten here once, but the Red Velvet pancakes are worth a serious 20 stars. Red velvet is one of those flavors that some restaurants really get right and some restaurants fail at… the red velvet flavor of these pancakes at Max’s is spot on and the cream cheese frosting takes it to the next level. These are completely worth using as your one cheat meal!!! I removed one star because parking situation isn’t the greatest and the restaurant is kind of small so always busy unless at an off time. Also, there really isn’t a huge menu and hardly any healthy options. Overall though, this place is great! :)

The service is great, however, the space in the facility is not. It is very small and cramped. Think of fitting a sold out movie theater crowd, into a place as small as a Starbucks location. The place is very, very small and over packed. Funny, because I think it use to be a Starbucks. It is nearly impossible to sit a group, yet alone, sit with someone else. The food is average at best, but not worth the cost. I have had much better elsewhere, but also, I have had much worse as well. In short, I give this place 2 stars for the fact that it is very small and cramped and hardly room to move and the food is average and over priced. The food is similar to Chili’s or Applebees but has the prices of a 4 – 5 star restaurant. If you wan’t better food at cheaper prices, go next door to the restaurant beside this establishment. If you want just wine, you found your place here.

I tried the Max’s famous fried chicken, it was quite underwhelming. The fried chicken was quite bland and a little too oily, perhaps the fried it at too low of a temp causing the chicken to soak in the oil more. I personally would not return.

They never disappoint! ! Everything on there menu will leave you with a food orgasm in your mouth! The fried egg sandwich is definitely the bomb, but come hungry because the portions are large, which is a total plus since the food is so delicious! The staff is always super friendly and knowledgeable regarding the items on the menu. Will always be one of my favorites!

Besides the outdoor dumpster smell the chicken was great the collard greens was dreamy the wine was on point! I’m glad I tried it thanks to one of my loyal customers at work! Make sure you bring a good $ 40 with you if its just for one and a good $ 80 for 2. I like the swing and country music! It’s worth it trust me…/

Came here for the second time for brunch on a Saturday. Man, their fried chicken and Max and cheese aren’t the only delicious items on the menu. Check out their Shrimp and Grits with a poached egg… mmmmm so tasty!

Only downside about this place is that it’s so teeny tiny! One thing they do offer in order to compensate is complimentary valet. So kudos on that. Favorite item on the menu is there egg sandwich. Definitely should try that out! And also their truffle fries. Yum.

Let me just say that I’d been dieing to eat here. Now I can say I have. I just won’t go out of my way to drive that far for chicken again! While the server was informative he kept reaching over my plate… so rude! Isn’t that part of server rules 101? The French Toast Was extra sweet but great. The chicken wing batter was seasoned well but I still needed a little hot sauce. Glad I only ordered two wings! The mimosas are strong but flat(tasted like they used cheap OJ). The sangria tasted like mango juice without alcohol. Overall. I went, I conquered, I’m done.

Disappointing! They may have some food hits but overall I would not go again for the price and experience. Server was very friendly but with every question we heard«i’ll have to check with my manager». Urgh! Do they not empower their employees to make any decision on their own? That wasted a lot of time. Food: Jake & Cakes were a hard fall. There was barely any meat on the bones they served and most of my time was spent picking the chicken off. The pancakes were packed with flavor but would’ve been awesome if paired with proper chicken that met the price of $ 17

My husband and I visited here for lunch and let me tell you our experience as first timers was awesome! Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful in suggesting meals. He also saw how indecisive my husband was and brought him out samples to try. As soon as we set down glasses of water was being handed to us at our table. I got the Jack Cakes and Wings and they were so delish. The wings has a subtle taste of sweetness that pairs perfectly with the syrup from the Jack cakes that are sprinkled with corn and peppers. I’m so happy I finally made it here and I will definitely be back.

The first time I came here, I remembered a good experience, however, my second visit for HRW was not as great as I remembered. We came around 9 on a Saturday night and it was not super busy. We got our water and then we ordered our wine. The wine I order«Bosio moscato» was really good. The server took a really long time to come back and take our order. Two of us ordered from the HRW and two of us from the regular menu. My boyfriend got the fried oysters nachos which were really good! My sister got the truffle mac and cheese was good as well. She also got the burger as her entrée and it was not relly good. She barely ate it. My boyfriend got the fried chicken. It was not as great as I remembered. The honey that we got to wasn’t as good as I remembered. It tasted like regular honey… I also got the calamari for $ 18 and it looked so sad… I was extremely disappointed. We were also very upset at our waiter. The food took forever to come out. He was never to be seen, and if we saw him, he never came by our table. When it came to getting the bill, one of my friend was so angry he got up and went to someone that worked there and asked for the bill. He also went up to give our credit card to pay. I’m not sure if I’ll be returning here anytime soon.

Maxs is an old staple of mine. They’re owned by the same person who owns the Tasting Room chain as well. You can never go wrong with their home style comfort foods. I met my guy for brunch today and he had an omelet with French toast and I had the gluten free chicken wings and Jake cakes. This was my first time trying the pancakes and they were so delicious and different because of the bell peppers inside of them. The chicken wings were sooooo good as always and flavorful! Because of the gluten free batter, I didn’t feel stuffed at all. The orange juice and grapefruit mimosas is a great way to wash it all down! I’ll always continue to come here whenever I crave their gluten free chicken! :)

Can you say Busy, busy, busy! Came here on a Sunday morning for brunch and it was packed and poppin, with only bar and outside seating available. Only seating available was at the tail-end of the bar.(Side note: This is not a good place for anyone to sit) After Flagging down the bartender I ordered the crème brûlée french toast with 2 of their infamous chicken wings, boy oh boy! Sooo good. The french toast tasted like cake. Light, Fluffy and Soft. Delectable. The chicken was fried to perfection, with a nice season in the batter. The food here is great, the service i presume is probably better if you actually reserve seating through open table, or if you get a good seat at the bar.

This place is furnished with dark wood & low lighting. The staff were sociable & hilarious. A friend of mine has been raving about 2 dishes for a while so on the odd night a friend wanted to try a different place I suggested we go here. Parking is limited & a problem so I just used the free valet. Lucky we were only 2& they had a small table available in the back of the restaurant. We started off with a great bottle of red wine(although the mark-up was about 50%), we continued our food adventure with the famous lobster fries. Now when my friend told me about this dish I had this mental image of 4 – 5 pieces of lobster in a long rectangular shape just like a huge french fries in a cute metal container(european style). Please be aware that this dish is not on the menu but is always available(according to our waiter). However what I received was french fries, with gravy, loads of mouthwatering lobster chunks & I think there was some cheese too. I just about lost my mind when I had the first bite, MAJORMOUTHGASM, it blew my mind & my friend’s too!!! I felt like I was having a spiritual experience. We have a similar dish back home in Quebec called poutine, it felt like comfort food to me. We decided at that moment that we would keep up with our lobster themed evening. We prolonged our escapade with the lobster mac and cheese, it was delectable. Again they didn’t skimp on the lobster & don’t regret ordering it for a second. It was creamy & cheesy, just like velvet in your mouth. We concluded this feast with the El Diablo po’boy, a spicy lobster tail(it really was) topped with coleslaw and lime aioli on a pretzel hoagie served with garlic-parmesan fries. The pretzel bun was perfect with this dish, it complimented the flavors beautifully. Needless to say at that point we were too stuffed to try any dessert, maybe next time. In the future I would get 2 orders of the lobster fries & ditch the mac and cheese! I want to try the fried chicken because I heard it was finger licking good. To be continued…

I visited this place for brunch, and it was amazing! I’ll have to go back and try the full menu, but I’m ultra impressed with the brunch menu. Let’s start with the reason they lost a star on my review — the hostess was quite snippy or maybe just overwhelmed. Regardless, she should have toned it down a bit. We didn’t have a reservation so there was a wait, they had a text system so that was nice; however, when we got our table we were informed that we only have the table for 1 hour. The hostess stated there was a reservation coming for that table, but we could eat there… Just hurry! I’m not sure about anyone else, but I don’t like to hurry on my Sunday brunch. I’d like to sit and visit for a while, especially in a wine bar. That’s my only negatives. The food was amazing and our service was really good. It was crowded so I’d recommend making a reservation. My friend ordered the French toast and added fried chicken. The French toast was very good some of the best I’ve had in a while. I had the famous fried egg sandwich and I added fried chicken to it. It was huge!!! Do yourself a favor and share this massive mound of food. It was great, but I have enough to eat two more times. It comes with house made chips that were just ok. I also ordered the sangria which was pretty good too. All in all a great place with a great experience. I’ll be back soon!
