Mari Ari Hair

Just purchased new clip in hair extensions and I love them! This was my first time visiting Mari Ari and I will be returning. I received 15% off my purchase for being a first timer and the staff was so friendly and helpful.

I will never come here again. The lady Lynette was very nice but she basically tried her hardest for me not to buy the hair I believe she knew that I wouldn’t b satisfied. I spent over 600 $ on bundles that I had to settle for actually. I wanted a 14in 16in and 18in they only had 2 18’s but not in he hair I wanted so I went with 2 18inches and and a 14in. (Settling) like I said. I’ve had the hair installed for 2 days now and it sheds like CRAZY! It’s very nappy very tangly or tangled however u understand it. Poor quality, it is over priced and I am very disappointed in the money spent for the quality of hair I could have gone to some corner and got it off of a homeless person for this shit. I’ve never been so mad in my life of this turn out, never have I paid this much for hair and have been this disappointed. Never will I ever shop here again and I wouldn’t recommend for anyone to either

I purchased some of the clip in extensions a couple months ago, they were soft and smooth until I washed them … Now I can’t even run my fingers through it. Kind of disappointing because I spent 250 $ on these instead of going to Sally’s and purchasing their clip ins for only 120 $. Customer service was great they were helpful but I don’t think I will be back for my clip ins. I have used Sally’s clip ins for up to a year and washed at least once a month and they always stayed smooth as ever, unfortunately they only go up to 18 inch that’s why I went to Mari. And I did follow the proper instructions keeping them out the bathroom, I use purology shampoo so i know it’s not that. Bummed because I was in love until I washed them. They get a 3 star because I only tried the clip ins and only have been there one time.

This place is incredible. I have thin and damaged hair due to bleaching. After I went back to my natural roots (medium brown), I wanted to add length and volume with clip in extensions while my natural hair grows back. I walked in and they have EVERYTHING you could want. They have their own line of clip ins that are top notch. I bought a great set (not their line, unfortunately. They were out and ordering more of my color but I needed them that day) of Indian Remy human hair extensions and I love them. They were only $ 100 and I don’t even wear all the pieces! They look fantastic and thick and I plan on coming here for all of my extension needs. I highly recommend this shop. Customer service was excellent. They helped my choose the color and length and spent at least 30 minutes with me, all for free. Go here!

Very helpful! Make an appointment (free!) if you want expert help picking out the best color/​length. The staff can teach you how to apply clip-​ins, and if you want, they can trim and shape. Friendly, attentive. Hair appears to be good quality!

I just walked in to get some hair products for me twists. They didn’t have the brands of oil sheens I was used to, but I got other products useful for my hair. They seem to specialize in wigs. Great place for that.

10/​27/​2015 update: So my previous review was only 4 stars, but I have edited and upgraded to 5.
After a long search for the best virgin hair in Houston and worldwide (pro tip: unless you into head nests, don’t ever buy «virgin» hair directly from China — you know who you are, AliExpress…), Mari Ari is the only place to go.
In my previous review (below), I had mentioned that the quality isn’t as good as it used to be, but I have concluded that buying virgin hair can be a toss-​up sometimes. Depends whose head you got it from, feel me? (Kind of a jarring thought, but I digress…) I’m not sure if the labeling thing I mentioned in my earlier review is still an issue, but I personally have not had any problems with that in recent history… They continue to have excellent, friendly customer service and an extensive selection of extension hair. FYI — They also sell NYX cosmetics and a wide variety of false lashes FTW.

I used to only purchase my hair from here, but lately I have been looking elsewhere. I don’t know why, but the quality of virgin hair here has just gone downhill, and I have noticed this with my past couple of purchases. I think maybe they have a new supplier… Mari Ari, I miss the way things used to be :(
Be wary that they are not taking care with labeling their hair correctly nowadays. A couple of months ago, I went to purchase some of the $ 200/​bundle virgin hair, and when the sales associate pulled a few different bundles of what was supposed to be all the same quality/​length of hair, some bundles were longer than others, and some clearly look processed and had damaged ends. The saleslady even agreed with me that they had prob been labeled incorrectly. Fortunately, I know my hair weaves, but an inexperienced hair purchaser wouldn’t have known any better and would’ve dropped $ 200 for low quality hair or hair of the wrong length. I chose the best hair they had available, and here I am 2 months later with a slight nest in the back of my head. $ 200 hair should NOT tangle after a few washes. It should not tangle after SEVERAL washes, especially if you’re barely heat styling it and using very high end hair products. (I know my $ 60 shampoo is not the culprit — it’s the only thing that temporarily makes it feel smoother)… I never use hair irons on it and barely use a hair dryer bc I am used to leaving it loose and wavy. Maybe it’s just my imagination… maybe the condition of my own hair which is left out is tangling with it… I’m really not sure.
Also, for some reason, the wefts now have this blue thread in them… I noticed a long blue string hanging in my hair once and was like wtf. Not that noticeable, but I am picky. I have some leftover hair that I had purchased from Mari Ari last year, and there definitely was no blue string. This is the hair you see in my Unilocal profile pic… Those were the good ol days.
I used to drop $ 300-​$ 400 there every few months, but if my hair is going to tangle, I might as well just buy some cheaper hair from somewhere else. Come on Mari Ari — don’t let competitors steal your good customers!!!
I give them 4 stars because they do have a huge selection and also have great sales at times– make sure you sign up for their mailing list and stuff!!! Also, the sales associates are super friendly and helpful… They really do have excellent customer service — I just wish the hair was what it used to be. FYI, they do have a very extensive selection of clip-​ins, wigs, and other quality brands of weaving hair — Bohyme, Indiremi, you name it — chances are they have it… but call ahead to make sure they have your color in stock.
