Welp,…here we go. I ordered the cotton candy ski jump and my gf got the vanilla yoyo. Firstly, I like the location. Its in a nice and quiet area. The store is clean and the people are friendly. The only thing that caught me off guard is that the staff seemed like they were really new. We ordered our ice cream, but they were asking us what were the ingredients, and i felt this should have been the other way around. It was kind of funny to say the least. The ice cream had good flavor, but i dont think the cold stone was as cold as it should have been. Our ice cream was a bit soggy. All in all, it was still a good trip. Once the staff gets fully trained it’ll run smoother, but overall a good experience.

Sad face :(. I had high hopes for marble slab– given that growing up I worked at a coldstone I was beyond excited for some freshly mixed Ice cream. First — the location looks like straight out of the 70s and hasn’t been touched since. There is a minimal amount of seating and no comfortable place to form a line. If a big crowd comes in after you be prepared to feel like a stuffed sardine. They only have ONE stone crowded behind the counter … You can barely see the mix in options and don’t even dream of watching the ice cream being folded. fail. Once I finally decided what I wanted the guy mixing it haphazardly threw it in a bowl– and it wasn’t a heaping scoop that we come to expect from cold stone type places. In fact there was a SIGNIFICANT amount of ice cream left on the stone that he just scratched and threw away… Really? Why wouldn’t you put that in this cup which has plenty of room left. What a waste !! To top it off they DONTHAVE A REGISTERAREA. They have to awkwardly turn their back to you and slide your card through the iPad on the back counter behind the stone? Also they had mountains and mountains of cones and waffle bowls sitting out. Gross– these are supposed to be made freshly throughout the day! You should be able to smell freshly made waffle bowls being churned out. Overall very disappointed … But hey it’s ice cream… So how can I give less than 2 stars?

This place has really gone downhill. I came in today for my favorite splurge, Strawberry Shortcake. Let me tell you what it used to be… fresh yellow cake on the bottom, three scoops of sweet cream ice cream, fresh sliced strawberries, strawberry topping(if you want it, gross) and yummy whipped cream made with real cream. It is now yellow cake, iced texture sweet cream ice cream, thawed frozen strawberries sitting in a gross red syrup(no fresh strawberries anywhere, I asked three times) and whipped topping. Whatever that white stuff on top was, it was NOT made out of cream. The topping was a gross, cheap imitation of whipped cream. With this location not having fresh strawberries(previously frozen, slimy, soft strawberries are gross!) and not using real whipped cream, I will never come back here again. These cheap mix-ins and toppings might be fine for toddlers, but not anyone who is actually paying $ 7 for an ice cream splurge.

The two guys working tonight, Wednesday, are so rude. Didn’t say a word to anyone and acted like you were bothering them to come in the door. The serving size was so small. Have never had icecream here where the icecream doesn’t stick up above cone. The ice cream itself was good as always.

This one is better than the one off Taylor. For some reason the ice cream at the Taylor location is flavorless. The customer service is great though. I like the teenage girl that works at this one. She always hooks it up on the scoops and add-ins. It always makes me laugh, because she’ll have raunchy rap playing in the background. Wished they cleaned the tables more frequently. There are always melted ice cream puddles on the tables.

owner is very rude does not treat customers or their employees with respect and cares more about making money than the safety and health of both the customers and employees. everything in that shop seems to be breaking down or falling apart and they are to cheap to fix anything. that place looks so unsanitary in the back and behind the counter i dont know how theyare still open. I have been there to witness him telling the servers to serve less because he is losing money yet he has groups of people come in with him as well as himself and his family and just order cup after cup of ice cream for free. I will not be coming back to this marble slab again

We live a block away which is way too convenient and a bit dangerous due to the calorie content of the establishment BUT hands down my favorite ice cream shop in Houston. Patient and polite staff and exceptionally clean!

Parking lot is tight and parking can be limited especially during the lunch hour. Small ice cream cup was overflowing. A small is $ 4.84, but in my opinion it serves more than enough ice cream. I am glad this location was caught for downsize sales. Meaning, selling a kids cup at a small price, basically customers were overpaying for smaller sizes compared to other locations around houston. I only come her for the birthday cake ice cream and their tropical gummy bears, but I noticed this location no longer have the tropical colored gummies, which gives my birthday cake ice cream a different taste. I have to give it a three for the inconsistency. I recommend to anyone who is an ice cream fanatic. Oftentimes this location have promos on groupon, which is cost effective because you can purchase a pint of your favorite flavors and mix ins and freeze it and eat at your leisure. A pint is $ 10, but a small is $ 5. You do the math!

With all the fancy ice cream, macaron, and other dessert places coming up, I often still go to the Marble Slab. Sweet cream is one of my favorite flavors of all time. Simple yet delicious. It mixes great with any flavor too! They recently changed their pricing structure and ice creams include unlimited mixings. Checked in with Unilocal and got a 20% off coupon. Nice!

I will say I rarely consume ice cream, but I was in the neighborhood and wanting a macaron from Macaraon by Patisse, but they are closed on Monday. Instead of looking like a fool and walking back to my car, I slyly changed direction and entered Marble Slab Creamery. I tasted coffee and birthday cake(and noticed that they have limited flavors and no sorbet). I ended up going with coffee ice cream with chocolate sprinkles in a Heath bowl. Half way through my devouring of the ice cream, I noticed that the bowl wasn’t exactly Heath crunch. I’m pretty sure it was just a chocolate waffle bowl. All in all, I felt I over paid(almost $ 7) for a small scoop of ice cream. Anyhow, my sweet tooth got what it needed, and then I took a nap while getting my dose of Netflix. All in all, a pleasant afternoon.

Nothing brightens your day like seeing your favorite ice cream beaten to a pulp on a stone cutting board! Ahhh, it can make all your day’s troubles seem trivial as they place that bludgeoned blob of cream + sugar into a pre-made dipped waffle cone. This is one franchise that never disappoints and now that they don’t charge extra for mix-ins, I love em’ even more. Marble Slab certainly knows how to win my love and affection. Between their 20% off check-in offers and the free ice cream I got for downloading their«Slab Happy» app, I can honestly say they’ve won me for life… or until Cold Stone up with something better. It might sound counter-intuitive but I stop here sometimes in the way to the gym. No protein shakes give you the energy of coffee ice cream + Heath bar.

The Ice cream here is DELICIOUS and it is nice that the mix-ins(and waffle cones!) are free(well, included in the cost of your expensive ice cream anyways.) I personally love ice cream, and love the ice cream at marble slab. I do sometimes have a problem with spending a minimum of $ 5 on ice cream, but to be fair, it is a lot and it is very good.

Walked out after me and several customer spotted roaches on the ice cream refridgeration units while the workers behind the counter were busy, scooping ice cream and getting there bare knuckles in the ice cream! This place is a ticking time bomb of food poisoning!

I went here not too long ago and had a horrible service experience. Ice cream is good but service, dirty store, and high price definitely doesn’t make it worth it.

Like many other of the Marble Slab locations, the ice cream here fails to disappoint me. The quality is very good– they claim to make the ice cream in the back of their shops. Whatever it might be, I find that this ice cream tastes better than most. The taste is sweet but not too sweet, fresh, and just flavorful. I had butter pecan with chocolate swirl, and both flavors were wonderful. It was really soft as well(how on earth do I describe ice cream? They’re all good. What else can I say?) However, a weak point may be that there are very high prices and poor customer service, as others have mentioned. I did receive a free sample without having to ask personally, so that was pretty good. I came in about 10 minutes until closing time so I didn’t really expect much from them. I got what I wanted, so I’m happy.

I am a fan of Marble Slab ice cream. On the quality of the ice cream and toppings, I give them 4−½ stars. What is not good is the operations of this place. It seems like every time it is either completely dead and it takes someone awhile to come from the back or it is slammed and they have one person working there. The cleanliness/maintenace of this place is not great. It appears that this location needs a major rennovation. Also, this location is sometimes difficult to park in.

The ice cream is good, the staff is helpful and quick, but this place does need some improvement. I was especially grossed out by the sample waffle cones on display which had fuzz growing out of them. They are always busy, but it’s quick to get through the line. I like the patio much more than inside. Inside just feels old and outdated. Their portions aren’t consistent and I was surprised by how shallow their waffle bowl was. The waffle bowl was good though — especially with the white chocolate and sprinkle edge.

Checking the reviews of this place after my wife and I’s most recent experience does not surprise me. About a week ago she went there with a friend and bought some ice cream for herself and her friend. She came home and commented about how the guy who served them seemed like he had no idea what he was doing and didn’t say one word to them the entire time. But whatever, right? Ice cream! Anyways, the next day we check our bank account and see we have two pending charges for the same amount. No big deal, we assume the second pending charge will probably disappear. A few days go by and both charges go through which was slightly annoying but we both agree it’s probably a mistake by a new employee who didn’t know what he was doing. So tonight we drive by and we decide to stop by real quick to try to get the issue resolved. We explained the situation to the nice girl behind the counter and she said she would need to call her manager. The girl and the manager talk and I guess the manager asks to talk to my wife. My wife, very pleasantly says, «hello, I was here on XXX and I was charged twice on my credit card, I’m sure it was a mista… when the women cuts her off and asks her«Who was working?» «It was some young kid» «No i’m sorry your wrong, the girl who is working here now was the working that night.» My wife replies, «look, I love this place, I don’t even want my money back can I just get a gift card.» «No» the manager replied, «this was the banks error you will have to take it up with your bank» «That will take a long time, the guy who was working here didn’t seem to know what he…» «He was not working that night» She continued to rudely speak over my wife, interrupt her, tell her that the person who she remembered working there was not that person and refuse to offer any sort of compensation while my wife was being cordial the entire time. At this point we just hand the phone back to the girl behind the counter because we could not get a single word in without being told we were wrong. I don’t blame either of the employees working there but the management of this place needs a reality check on how to treat their customers. We will certainly never be returning and make sure to only use cash!

I have been going to this location for about 15 years. It used to be great(even though a little pricey). I went there on Saturday and had the worst experience ever. I will never go back to this location. Poor customer service. They raised the prices a dollar for each size. They didn’t ask the size and gave my 16 year old son a small — we were going to celebrate an event for him. They put it in a dish without asking. I had a slab card for a free cone, but they still charged me a dollar plus tax for the free cone. I will try the location on Taylor next time.
