It’s a good place to have breakfast. But the tamales aren’t that great. Tacos are good.

Great food with a local flair. We were initially thrown off thinking it was part of the gas station next door. We decided to give it a shot and glad we did. Very clean, good service. The cheese tamales were fantastic.

Mehhhh! I’ve heard a lot of good things about this small joint from friends and neighbors in this small part of town, and upon their suggestions I ordered a few breakfast tacos, and man did they suck! It pains me to give this business a 2 star rating because the older gentlemen behind the counter was so nice and friendly. I just wish his recipes were as nice as he is. Over all experience wasn’t bad, it’s just his breakfast tacos were extra greasy, the meat chewy and bland, the sauce given with the tacos was the best thing out of the whole ordeal. Will I try this place again? Maybe but highly unlikely.

Really good food and cheap We came this morning based on all the great reviews. The service was wonderful and its a very small yet cozy Establishment. You feel like you are in a mom and pop joint in Mexico. Food Sausage, egg, and cheese tacos-Good flavor yet a little small, so order more then your norm if you want to get full. The cheese is a larger shredded cheese which makes it melt slow so this through me off track. If they would layer the beans, then cheese this would help this problem. Chilaguiles– Great flavor but weird… I am used to mine having egg and a tomotillo sauce, these had no eggs In a red ranchero sauce. It was a good flavor just had to adjust my taste buds. It came with a side of delicious refried beans and not so great potatoes. I got extra tortillas on the side and they weren’t fresh. I am a sucker for fresh, authentic tortillas. All in all it was only 15.00 and had a solid flavor profile.

For the past three years, this has been my go to place for lunch on the go. I order food at least once a week! Mr. Juan is a very friendly gem and his cook always gets it right. I often order a special salad with corn, charro beans, pico de gallo, and avocado. Occasionally, I will order his breakfast tacos, hamburger w/fries, big beef burrito, the cheese quesadilla, or the beef or been tamales. To be honest, I have never had a complaint with any of the food. My only wish is that the tamales were a little bigger and he offered a frequent guest discount punch card or something. Oh, the Hemicha(Hibiscus?) tea is delicious!!! The eatery is small and inviting with maybe 5 – 6 small tables. There is only one bathroom, but you can take confidence in knowing it is always clean.

Had take-out pork and chicken tamales with all the fixings. The tamales are the more normal size unlike Berryhill’s whose are HUGE. The chili sauce to pour over the tamales was very good. It wasn’t salty or bland and had a good amount of chili powder for flavor. The refried beans were good in consistency but could have used a little more seasoning. The prices are comparable to most places for Mexican food and I could say they are a little bit cheaper IMO. I hope to return soon.

What a great breakfast here! My husband and I come here regularly for the eggs breakfast and pancakes. Love the food and what great service. As soon as we walk in, Juan says Good Morning and gets me a cup of fantastic coffee. Love it!

I gave this place another shot and glad I did. I had the ground beef enchilada plate which came with rice and beans. The enchiladas tasted homemade and were delicious. They are a little greasy but let’s face it, chili gravy and enchiladas are not a staple of healthy eating. The refried beans were good and the queso was better than most places. The prices are a little on the high side but the food was worth it. I would be a regular at this place if I lived in this area.

Best enchiladas with red tomato sauce, I also had their fresh delicious tacos! The owner is always so gracious and humble. Love this place, hidden gem.

$ for $, great breakfast tacos. Next to a convenience store in a so-so area. Be prepared for a Spanish lesson. Coffee is average, at best. Salsas are potent. Not for the faint of heart. Love them. Cleanliness is average, or slightly below. But the tortilla is for real. I had the chorizo y huevos and the hamone y huevos tacos on my first visit last week. Today I had the chorizo y huevos and the huevos a la mexicana. I’ll be going back again, and would get any three of those again, but will probably continue to try other things.

Haven’t actually tried the tamales, but the breakfast tortillas are delicious! Luna’s tacos made me a convert to getting corn tortillas. I brought these into work once, and people are still talking about«those tacos» months later!

Great breakfast! Tried it for the first time and the food was delicious! I have passed by this restaurant several times and was not too excited about eating at a restaurant located next door to a gas station convenience store. But once I walked in, I was very surprised. The restaurant was very clean and the owner was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food came out fast and fresh. We tried the pork tamales(very moist and tasty), the pancake breakfast(the bacon was thick, pancakes fluffy and eggs were delicious) and breakfast tacos. Their homemade salsas were great, too! All of the items were delicious! We will definitely be back. Not to mention, our kids loved the food, too. And they are normally very picky eaters, but my 7 year old loved the tamales. We can’t wait to go back!

I never eat Hispanic food, except Chipotle, but I’m sure that’s not even considered Hispanic anymore. In fact, this may be one of the only Hispanic-related reviews I will ever do, but that’s because I’d be insane to eat other tamales that aren’t Luna’s. I can’t say anything about their other selections, but Luna’s tamales are THE best. This little restaurant is hidden away next to a gas station near my house, but great tamales always have humble beginnings. And anyway, I never dine in — my family would kill me if I didn’t bring those babies home. The tamales are small, piping hot, moist, and homemade — something you can’t expect those bigshots like BerryHill(though I love BerryHill, their tamales were gross) to pull off. Make sure they give you enough salsa though; honestly, it’s nothing without drenching it in salsa!
