So before, my parents would always order take out from here and it would be only so so. Some dishes that I usually like or fond of are like the fried salt and pepper egg plant or the salt pepper squid. This past sunday, my family ate there and I’ve known they’ve had a renovation of the restaurant for a while now but the food tasted a lot better than before. I think possibly change of management maybe? Anyhow, the food is definitely tasting a lot better now and we had some pretty decent dishes such as the beef pan fried noodles, sweet sour pork, black pepper chicken, and some other stuff I don’t remember. But good decent prices, and good food now. Nowhere near as greasy and oily as it used to be so would definitely be back here for some dinner or dim sum at lunch.

I may not look the part, but I’ve had dim sum all over the city, and this visit reminded me why I DON’T eat here. The wait for a table was long, but I finally got seated… and ignored. Eventually someone came by for my beverage order and dropped off a glass of water(instead of hot tea), then, left me waiting… and waiting… and waiting some more. Finally, one of the carts came by and I asked for one of the usual dishes. The man answered, «later, later!» and scurried off leaving me with an empty plate and a growling stomach. Long story short, they do not have enough servers for the hordes of people they cram in here. Other patrons were walking up to the carts scattered around the room or the steam table and just taking food. I’ve never been to a Chinese restaurant where I had to fetch my own soy sauce and nobody batted an eye, not even the owner standing guard at the register. Two stars because the food is decent, but service and atmosphere is a big fat duck egg. Next time you’re looking for dim sum, if you arrive here to a packed parking lot, drive on to someplace that can handle the traffic… only«lucky dragons» get served here.

This is a great place to eat good chinese food for a reasonable price. I went with my boyfriend and my three year old son. We each ordered a plate and were very surprised at the amount of food that came our way! We were extremly hungry and came out more than satisfied. We still have enough left for dinner tonight!!! They have people pushing carts of food that’s extra but it looks sooo good. Definatley going back again !

The dimsum is soso, but the prices are amazing. It was $ 2.99 for each dish, every dish. Pretty phenomenal if I do say myself. The service isn’t too great and the place isn’t too clean… but for the price that you’re getting everything. It’s a ridiculously good deal.

Anyone wanna dim sum? Stopped in with my bestie and her mum and sis on an early Sunday morning(10 am). There were two tables seated so it still seemed early. They have the traditional dim sum items: sui mai, ha gao, ha churn fun, .and the list goes on. It was ok dim sum. Although they had a few carts rolling around, you can actually order items from the waitstaff. Their food seemed to be larger, meaning the shrimp dumpling required two bites because of its size. Their fried taro was good and so was their potato cake. My friend said their buns with pork are yummy. My bestie paid so I am not sure about pricing but she said it’s reasonable. Would definitely hit this spot again :)

Every asian family has a «go-to» restaurant in Bellaire. You know… the one restaurant you dine at time and time again for any and every occasion despite the hundreds of other dining options in Chinatown? Yep, this is it for my family. It’s located in a strip center that’s usually pretty desolate(I’ve never seen the parking lot more than half full) and the restaurant usually never has more than a handful of tables seated even on the weekends. The service isn’t so great(come prepared to refill your own drinks and get your own to-go boxes) and the restaurant s pretty worn and shabby, but what really matters is the food. My parents love ordering off of their $ 5.50(yes, the prices haven’t increased from $ 4.95) menu of over 50+ different dishes. We usually always order the salt and pepper pork ribs, flat noodles with beef, salty fish fried rice, combination pan fried noodles, and fried calimari/squid. For delicious food with great value, you can learn to forgive their shortcomings in service.

Went here for Dim Sum on a random Tuesday for lunch. I was impressed with how quickly the carts came by and the options on them. I did have the same problem that Minnie T. mentioned about the food being room temperature… so that part wasn’t the best. However, I found the quality of the food to be quite good. Also the fact that everything at lunch for Dim Sum was $ 2 was amazing. Cheaper than most places I’ve been. So if they could just get the food to me a little warmer, this place would be a 4.

the food here is a really good value for $ 4.95 a dish, but the service is just terrible. even if the entire restaurant is filled(they can seat maybe 200), they’ll have only 2 people waiting on everybody. over christmas, they ran a ‘$ 9.99 lobster special.” well, i went with a party of 6, sat down, and ordered about 20 dim sum items before ordering the lobster. we tried to order 2 lobsters, but the waitress told us there was a limit of 1 per table(not mentioned anywhere in the ad). out of frustration, my dad asked if we split up the table, could we order 1 lobster per table per 6 tables and the waitress still said no. you’d think that with a table that’s given you so much business already, you wouldn’t fuck around with them.

I have only eaten at a dim sum place twice in my life so once again I declare myself an amateur. All I know is that it tasted really good and the prices were less expensive than the only other place I had been prior to. Until I know better this place gets 4 stars.

Based on two visits, one on a Sunday… when there were lots of customers and carts coming around. It was great. Went on Saturday for Dim Sum. The selection was poor — it was just frustrating and dissapointing. None of the«classic» dim sum dishes came by. and we half heartedly picked a few things. but it was a big let down. We finally gave up, overpaid, and left quickly. Unless it is super busy, and there are lots of carts moving around… Stick to the stir fry specials when business is slow.

I went here with my family to eat dim sum. I’ve been here before with my Grandpa and it was okay then but today it was bad. Seating was quick and we received our drinks fairly quick as well. The carts came around and we got the usual. Oh, I wish I could spell out what I got but I’m not even going to try. We usually go across the street to Kim Son but my Mom wanted to try this place out since she usually see this place crowded. Anyways, my food was room temperature warm. Blah. Eating this cold would be better than eating this room temperature warm. Every time I get dim sum, I either get egg tarts or mango pudding. This place only had egg tarts. To me, it looked so good sitting on the cart. The yolk was glistening and it was calling my name. Of course, I always listen to inanimate objects that look yummy. I ate a piece of it and boy was I disappointed. It wasn’t warm but tasted like it was sitting out for awhile. I didn’t want to eat anymore so I got it in a take out box. I figure the egg tarts being in the fridge would taste well. I haven’t tasted it yet but maybe tomorrow. The prices are decent and the décor is not that great. BTW… I’ve looked in the kitchen and it doesn’t look great. I think we’ll stick to our normal dim sum restaurant which is KIm Son.

They have a $ 4.95 menu of 80 plus items that is served all day. The normal menu is more expensive, so make sure that you get the green sheet showing the special pricing. They also serve a good dim sum every day. I particularly recommend the dim sum on the weekends which is more extensive. On the dim sum I recommend the gai lan(Chinese brocoli), the flat noodles with shrimp and the fried squid. Typically, you need to go get the squid and gai lan at a separate hot cart that is stationary. We also like the eggplant with shrimp paste. This gem has tasty food that doesn’t feel too greasy. There’s an extensive $ 5 menu where we only order from. They also have $ 2.99 lunch specials with free hot tea. This restaurant has a lot of tables so it’s great for big groups. Lucky Dragon is our family’s new regular dining destination. However, don’t expect great service or clean bathrooms…

A fairly decent place, formerly one of the best Dim Sum places in town. Fair prices, with a $ 5 stir fry menu from which you can choose everything from vegetables to tofu to fish or meat. Make sure to get their early for dim sum on the weekends.
