I have been going to this doctor since I was 23 years old, I am nearing 58. And even though I now live in Fort Worth, TX, I still make the drive to Houston for my yearly with Doc. He is as good as it gets. He performed my hysterectomy on me over 30 years ago and his stitching was so good you can’t see it. Great doctor, great friend, great family man and as long as he is going to stay in practice, I will continue the drive to Houston to see him. His nurse, Rosa, is absolutely amazing. She goes above and beyond for the patients. I’ve told Doc many times how lucky he and we are to have her.

I visited Dr. Lucci’s office yesterday for a well-woman exam and bloodwork for STD’s — better safe than sorry! They give you an extensive questionnaire to fill out online prior to the appointment. I appreciated this because they didn’t ask me any of those uncomfortable questions during my appointment: how many of this, how many of that… Yikes! I even left some of those answers blank because really who’s keeping count, but Dr. Lucci was very professional and didn’t try to torture me any more than was needed. As it has been mentioned, he is an older gentleman and you can see the experience in his face. He made me feel very comfortable during a brief interview prior to the examination. His nurse was very kind too, the Hispanic one, I didn’t catch her name. The ladies at the front desk were ok, but I wish they were more attentive. They did not notice when I came in, they didn’t greet me, the window to the reception remained semi-closed unless you did away with your manners and slid it open yourself. My exam was as pleasant as any pelvic exam can be. As I mentioned, Dr. Lucci was very professional and brief. Not very talkative but given the circumstances I prefer it that way. Now, after the exam I was guided to another nurse who drew my blood for the lab tests. I’m terrible with names, but she was an AA lady about 5’5″. I happen to like needles and give blood often so I am pretty tolerant to these things, but my experience was just a bit peculiar. She inserted the needle in my artery(which is not hard to find, you can see it through my skin), but somehow her hand was just not very steady and I felt like the needle kept going deeper as she did things with her hands(change the blood containers, etc). It wasn’t incredibly painful, but later that night I looked at my arm and realize a huge bruise had formed. It just looks wrong(see pic). As I mentioned, I give blood often and I have never had anything like this before. Oh well, it will heal eventually. In the meantime I’ll just look like a junky.. Because of this I will rate the office 3 stars. I probably won’t visit again because I’m moving. If I weren’t moving I would visit again because I liked Dr. Lucci very much. I’m sure his nurse will improve with practice.

I really enjoyed meeting Dr. Lucci. He is an older gentleman with real care and concern for his patients. He took time to talk to me and get to know me before ever going into the exam room. His office is very nice, and his nurse, Rosa, was very friendly and down to earth. I felt welcomed. I’d give my experience 5 stars, except getting to his office on the 10th floor was a little bit confusing(no visible signs in the lobby), and the appointment was a long one. My appointment was at 10:15, I arrived at 10 but didn’t get taken to the back until 10:35. I was there until 11:45. On another note, the lobby was filled with pregnant women. I think I was the only one that wasn’t pregnant.

I recently relocated to Houston and needed to find a new doctor for the dreaded ‘annual’ stuff that women need to have and to refill a prescription. I contacted Dr. Lucci’s office and was able to be seen the next day. In walks Dr. Lucci… with the quintessential look of the kindly country doctor… or the grandpa I never had. Before getting down to business, he meets his patients in his office, rather than the exam room. He talks to his patients and gets to know them. He listened to my concerns and within minutes, I was totally comfortable with him. I was even able to get a blood workup done at this appointment(thank goodness I had inadvertently fasted!) rather than wait until I found a primary care physician. His staff is super friendly and efficient. If you are looking for a doctor who is caring and takes the time to get to know you, Dr. Lucci is the one for you.
