I’ve been coming to Lockwood since I was 16 and at 25 I continuously bring my children to skate. I also bring my teen and pre-teens to join the party Saturday night. I cannot guarantee that this place is not off the chain, the area is so-so but the place itself is family owned and definitely down with the younger generation. The music selection will forever be hip-hop they do play the«olé(not old) school music» and the old heads get on the skate floor and show off their skills. The skates are 4 wheels and kind of old but they work and I get an excellent work out when trying to show my 7 year old what I can do out there myself. I do agree with the reviewer before me in regards to radio edit but it seems they try to keep up with the teens and forget they have kids of all ages coming in to skate. On Saturday night after 10 or 11pm they shut down the skates and turn it into somewhat of a dance floor for the teens to enjoy. now parents brace yourself because I do bring my cousins and their friends and the kids these days are fast and I am not just talking teenagers we have got to teach them better than grinding their hips and thrusting on boys so with this being said when the lights go off I chaperone my crew like a thief in the night and have no problem with embarrassing them when I find them dancing less than lady like. The place all in all in super fun but be prepared for our generation of twerkers when the lights go off! My cousins and their friends are always calling me asking when can they go again which I’ll allow if report cards are looking great which is a good way to keep them motivated in school. So kudos to you Lockwood for keeping the teens interested after all these years!

don’t let the neighborhood fool ya! We attended a birthday party here for our friend’s daughter, and I was very impressed with many things @ Lockwood Skating Palace. Upon entry you have to acknowledge the cleanliness of the place. We have frequented two local skating rinks in our area, even having our own daughters at one. and it has to be said they don’t compare to the cleanliness of Lockwood Skating Palace. The concession area was not too shabby either. Nachos, Pizza, Hot Dogs, Chili Dogs, Pickles… even STRAWBERRY Soda!(for those that know .that’s what’s up!” The hot dogs were not the«brand» i’d buy, but that chili sauce they slather on it sure did make up for it. That was some good chili! The floor was in pretty decent condition, but i think LSP needs to go ahead and invest in some new roller skates. The current skates are RIDONKULOUS! Also while we loved the musical selection of the DJ, it has to be considered that the majority of the guests during the time of day we were in are CHILDREN. Please use the«radio edit» version of songs. #imjussayin«That one» asked me more than once«What did that song just say»? all in all… super fun time and very clean!
