First thing to be aware of is that I issue a Hairdresser Challenge to each stylist I meet. This Challenge is simple in theory, but difficult in practice. I literally ask the Stylist to do whatever they want: cut, color, tease, highlight, etc. My only stipulation today was no extensions (it’s summer and I am frankly too lazy to deal with them).
Cue, Angel!
She not only took my challenge but gave me the impression that she had dun playing, too! That was by far the best reaction I have had to my Challenge since moving to Texas 4 years ago.

Before I forget, everything was reasonably priced and they accommodated us as walk-​ins. They were upfront about scheduling and we were more than pleased to split our appointments and come back — not only because of how we were handled, but also because of the genuine friendship we witnessed all around us.

Melanie did my cut & color. I am beyond happy with how it turned out. I had stopped by other salons and they all said what I wanted was imposible fr previously having black dye put in, but, Melanie did it. I’m so in love with the purple & pink she put in. Will definitely be going back for my touch up and trim.

I have been going to Bob the owner of Layers for about 10 years now, if you want someone who really knows about color then he is your man. I always have people ask me where I get my cut and color done. Bob does the color and Stella does the cuts she always gives me the best cuts, I never have a bad hair day because of these two very talented and gifted people. Beware book ahead of time as they book up fast I book 6 months of appointments in advance.

Layers Hair Salon has excellent Hair Stylists. My family and I use Michael King (he has been our Hair Stylist for the last 12 years). He is awesome! Mr. Bob owns Layers and makes it a welcoming environment and makes you feel welcome. If you want to look great everyday, give them a call!

Larra is an amazing stylist. I’ve been going to her for years and have followed her from another salon. Since I have curly hair, when you find someone that treats your hair right, you keep them! She makes me feel like my hair is important to her every time. Everyone I’ve sent to her have become regular customers!
The salon itself is clean and modern, without the stink or pretentious stylists like a visable changes. This is not a spa oriented place, rather with individual booths that are specific to each stylist. It’d be nice if they did have nails, facials, and whatnot, but there is a nail salon next door anyways, so it’s impractical to them to persue that.
As long as Larra is there, I will be there every 6 weeks!

Nathan has been cutting my hair for 8 years. He is a great stylist. I have missed appointments — my fault — and missed texts from him saying he was sick over the years. Stll he gives a haircut with great shape that lasts for for weeks
