When you’re in chinatown for dinner but know you’ll be going out that night and it’s already 8:30 pm, and stupid laws in Texas say you gotta get your liquor before 9 pm, well this might be your stop. We were faced with that scenario recently so we made a quick stop in here. They have LOTS of the higher end stuff, $ 100+ per bottle, but they were missing a lot of the classics. I guess they have a certain clientele and they cater to them.

Lam’s Liquor is conveniently located in the Hong Kong 4 shopping mall. It’s nearly impossible to find from inside the mall, so you’ll want to drive to the front of the center (it’s to the left of Ocean Palace).
They have a pretty decent selection, and the prices are cheap. They’ll have lots of asian beers /​liquors as well. There aren’t any shopping carts so you’ll want to bring a bag to help you shop. When you know it’s going to be crowded at Specs, come on over to Lam’s where there’s no wait to checkout.
My friend told me about this little gem, and I’ll be back when I need to restock my collection.
