My Unilocal coupons were not accept on October 15, 2014. They said voucher is old. I always get the chicken salad on white, toasted. Can’t go wrong with that.

You have to ignore the previous reviews. This restaurant is under new ownership which has really allowed the quality to go down hill. I work nearby and my coworkers and I have eaten here for many years, at least twice a week. We don’t anymore! The food is not as good, the portions are smaller and the kitchen is disorganized and slow. I hate to say this… but I have been to Lacey’s for the last time and that is the general consensus of my office.

Good sandwiches, quick service, and the best peach tea. I tried the Super Original which had double the meat of the Original. It wasn’t a lot of meat, but I was satisfied. I’m just curious how light the meat is on the Original. I’m just glad to know that this place is here because there is not much within walking distance in this area.

The Italian stallion is a great sandwich but ask to add pepperoncinis. Great service and friendly staff. Only wish is that they had more Italian meats available to build your own sandwich.

I have been going to this place since it’s original owners and have seen it turn over 2 times since. I work very near by and used to consider this a friendly, good, and convenient lunch spot. With every change in hands came another decline. This last change was the WORST. I am not a fan of writing bad reviews and I believe in 2nd and even 3rd chances at redemption before I cast an obvious shadow to the unsuspecting. Every time I give this place another shot(out of sheer desperation when I can’t leave my desk), I end up regretting it. The owner and employees are always shockingly RUDE and unapologetic. I am always more than friendly, so I know their attitude isn’t a reflection of me. I almost feel like I am walking on egg shells when I go in there. As if I am inconveniencing them when I hand them my money. Like their generic pasta and stale sandwich make up for the lack of ambiance and cold atmosphere. I am puzzled that they have stayed a float this long. I can only assume group juror orders, unknowing after court crowds and my fellow desperate 9 – 5’ers are the only reason they haven’t closed their doors yet. Aside from my rant on their attitude, my order suffered as well. I ordered a sandwich all the way. I got it plain, dry, and completely wrong down to the meat. This was not the first time btw. I can admit to one positive, the delivery guy. He was very nice and seemingly apologetic. He expressed a genuine concern and drive to fix my order. I can only assume he is new and not yet tainted by the plague of bad attitudes.

Quick delivery and really good sandwich. I got the poboy special(turkey) and was very satisfied. Friendly delivery guy and can’t beat the price downtown.

Great spot close to work for some lunch! Decided to check it out today. and I built my own sammich! Chicken salad on wheat, toasted. very tasty and sweet too. But not so much you’re like WTF?!? They are priced well for downtown and have specials each day for PoBoys! Look forward to coming again and trying maybe some pasta!

Our jury duty group wanders in off the street and Lacey greets us with her friendly vocal fry. She sounds as if she’s been yelling orders into the kitchen all day, but is absolutely thrilled to see us(the former is definitely true, and I actually believe the latter). She describes the menu, the homemade bread and dressings. She greets the regulars despite the crowd. The service is lightning fast. The muffaletta is warm and OMG delicious. And then I realize that this place is *dangerously* close to my office… … I fear that I shall return frequently and with reckless abandon.

Perfect location for lunch during jury duty. Got there before the crowds and was able to snag a table. Had the chicken salad sandwich and it was pretty good, but basic. If I go back I would try something else. Super nice people behind the counter which is always a plus!

Lacey’s has a simple plan. Use top-of-the-line, fresh ingredients and don’t get too cute. Great sandwiches. They even catered my son’s first birthday and people were raving about the food. A great sandwich at a great value.

Lacey’s Deli has great sandwhiches. I got the Club sandwhich. It came with smoked ham and turkey layered on toasted bread with crispy bacon, American & Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, dill, pickles and mayonnaise. It came with a bag of chips as well. A drink is not included and it is extra. It is a little loud inside. They have a seated area inside and also a bar area to eat. There is free parking outside too, and its not too busy during lunch time. I will be coming back here to try out the Po-Boy sandwiches. There were a lot of jurors eating here from the downtown courthouse. They served my food within 5 minutes so the service is good. Thanks, Robert Altmiller

After leaving the downtown courthouse during lunchtime and not wanting to find and pay for a new parking spot, I wandered the streets of downtown on foot in search of food. After two or three blocks, I sight Lacey’s Deli. Naturally, I get out my iPhone to check Unilocal reviews first, and everything checks out, so I decide it’s worth trying. The woman at the counter, that I’m assuming owns the place, is as friendly as can be. I chose the«build your own sandwich» option with sourdough bread, chicken salad, lettuce, tomato, and provolone cheese. The counter lady assures me that it will be the best chicken salad I’ve ever had. Considering I try the chicken salad just about everywhere I go, that’s a difficult title to achieve. The chicken salad, which was Tuscan flavored and had a orange-ish hue, was very good. I am unsure what ingredients were used, but it was definitely very different from your standard mayo-based chicken salad. I don’t know if I would call it the best I’ve ever had, but it has definitely earned a spot on my Unilocal list — Chicken Salad Connoisseur. I thought the peach tea was slightly weak, but I am overlooking that because the service was so spectacular. If you work downtown this cute little deli is a must for lunch hour.

I have been here two times and both times were great. The sandwiches taste fresh, light and just right. The first time I ordered a regular turkey sandwich on wheat bread and asked for their olive sauce? It is their special sauce that they make which makes the sandwich perfect. The second time I ordered the special of the day which was the Ham Po-Boy and of course I had to ask for the olive sauce again and this sandwich was equally as delicious. The daily lunch special consists of a different sandwich for the day, a bag of chips and a drink. Their peach tea is great, I’m not sure if they make it themselves but I’m pretty sure they do. Lastly, I feel like there is nothing better than walking into a place to be greeted with great service. The female who runs the shop, I’m assuming her name is Lacey(?) is so helpful and friendly which adds a something special to the shop.

The po boy was very good, and it was a pretty cheap as well. What’s more, this place is within walking distance of the courthouse. The atmosphere was calm, and it was brightened by the friendly service at the counter. This place is going straight into my lunch rotation.

Soooooo good! I really can’t stand the big corporate sub shops.(You know who you are.) They’ll do in a pinch, but I prefer the local shops. Lacey’s is one of the best. The sandwiches are fresh, tasty, and affordable. Once you walk in the door you’re greeted by one of the nicest smiling faces you could ever hope to encounter. Lacey is always there and she always brightens up your day. Try the Italian Stallion which has homemade meatballs and marinara with sliced beef and sausage. It’s amazing. My cold favorite is their Original. The bread has a sweet flavor that goes wonderfully with the meats and special sauce. This is going to be one of my regular downtown lunch spots.

You will not find a more pleasant hostess for your lunch downtown than Lacey. And her food matches her personality. Great selection and she whips up some off the menu specials from time to time. If your near the courts don’t miss Laceys.

This is a great lunch spot for downtowners. Basic deli menu, but always dependable quality. Lacey greets you with a smile and a friendly face daily, as well. She also does the BEST homemade chili in town!
