This place sucks big fat gooch. I was not greeted at the door as I am accustomed to, the waiters were too busy taking other orders. They didn’t even recognize me! I ordered 5 dishes, All of which did not come with the triple cheese I ordered, but rather came with only double and a half(I weighed them). But what really grinds my gears, is that the Croque Monsieur was not up to par with my cholesterol consumption needs(and the bechamel sauce got all smeared in my beard). In addition the restrooms did not offer an extra large toilet option and I was forced to drop my steaming load on the ground. I soon realized that I was not able to exit the restroom because of my fecal calamity. I began to scream at the top of my lungs for help and about thirty minutes later I was heard by a kitchen worker who dragged me under the stall door to escape the restroom. I returned to my booth and began stuffing my face again and then I ran out of food. I attempted to communicate that I would like more food to try. The waiter did not understand my facial and physical indications that I would like more food(for using verbal communication was too tiring). I was finally forced to slap my bare belly and yell«MORE!» to receive additional food. After this little stunt I was briskly escorted out of the building and told never to come back again. I give it 3 stars because I love the chicken friand and I have probably had that several dozen times. However at this location the service quality and the general rudeness of staff is quite a bother. I give this place 4 stars for the food and 1 star for the service.

Our first visit here was perfectly fine so I took my mom here Sunday and they were totally off their game. It wasn’t that busy and they didn’t seem understaffed. The guy manning the salad station was missing for a long time with numerous people walking by, seeing us waiting, and passing without helping. Guy took 5 – 10 minutes with no apology. Get to register, the girl manning it was gone too for a while. Again, no apology. We paid and asked one of the servers if the chicken friand(reason we were there) would be brought out with the shrimp crêpe. She said«oh! That’s going to take 25 minutes to come out. I hope that’s okay.» That was after we paid. So we waited, the crêpe was nowhere as good as last time and they took our identifier when they brought it. When I asked if the friand wild still be brought, everyone just seemed confused. It was a giant cluster the whole time. Probably won’t be back after that time. No apology was given for any of this. Only get three stars for first time being good. One star for the last.

I ordered breakfast for the office from here and I have to admit that it was very delicious. The fruit was wonderful and the pastries very unique and fresh. However I do feel that I could have gotten a little bit more for the amount of money that I was spending there.

Considering the amount of times I’ve been here you’d think I’d rate this La Mad’s better than 3 stars. Keep reading to see why. I really enjoy La Madeleine, and I really enjoy it for a quick lunch during the week or a late breakfast on the weekend. Sadly, I work too far from any franchise to make it Mon-Fri. I’ve NEVER had a problem with the quality of their food. The tomato basil soup was my first introduction to this nectar of the gods. The chicken(either in a sandwich or on a salad) has always been delicious. The pastries — always heaven. I’m also not a salad dude, but I will eat their chicken caesar salad all day, err day. Now, this particular location gets a couple of knocks. Parking at Rice Village can be tough. The whole area gets busy depending on the time of day and season. There are a couple of parking garages if you don’t mind a walk, but usually in Houston, you want to just pull up to where you’re going and not park a block away.(Lazy, we are.) Secondly, the tables in a couple of the areas are tightly packed. You get pretty intimate squeezing past people. And you have a tough time tuning out everyone else’s conversation since it gets loud and rowdy with everyone trying to be heard. Thirdly, the bird situation outside needs to be addressed. I don’t know the answer, but birds while I’m eating are gross.

I just love this place, you can come check their soup, lunch menu, and their dessert. All the people here are classy and just a suitable place to go with your friends. I love their Tuna and chicken croissant(Chicken Friand is the best)

The latte was good but the caramel machiatto just average. Outdoor sitting is messy because alot of birds flying around in that area looking for food. Service was slow and not friendly.

French toast came cold, with corn syrup instead of maple as the menu said and garlic cream cheese on the side, hopefully by mistake. Canned mandarins on top, worst French toast ever.

This location is nice! Came here twice. Once in April 2015 early in the morning, it was quiet and you could see locals walking their dogs and greeting friendly. I had the Eggs Benedict on a croissant with some fresh orange juice, super yummy! Again in Winter 2015 I visited this same location, staff is friendly and wait was reasonable as it was extremely packed! I got a sandwich and potato soup!

I had the roasted veggie sandwich which was amazing! The ambience was nice and the service okay. Would go again and try what my friend had, the chicken(p). She can’t remember the name, lol.

Service sucks… We were in line and I placed my order, a guy jumps the line and the girl helping us stops to take his order midway thru us ordering. On top of that… Salad was soggy, with brown leaves… Food wasn’t good at all. Never coming to this location again. Will stick to the one on Shepherd/Grey.

Great place for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert. Ambience is comfy and relaxed and the service is spot on! The strawberry rhubarb jam is delicious perfectly pairs with the complimentary French bread. Favorite menu items have to be croque monsieur sandwich or crêpe romanoff — they are outstanding! Will be coming back again and again!

Coffee place it is my spot, and maybe dessert as well. but when it comes to food it is pretty pricy. this morning my girlfriend and I came here for Breakfast, we got one black coffee: nothing Fancy: I order a custom Omelette with 2 extra eegs, my girlfriend ordered a Strawberries Romanoff. and a small pâté of fruits the total was 39.42. plus i left 5 bucks for the lady brought the food! almost $ 50 for breakfast, I would think again if I am gonna come eat breakfast here!

Food is always amazing but the to go department really needs to step it up a notch. I work down the street from here and in the past 5 years I don’t think my office has ever received a correct order from to go. They will take your order and repeat it perfectly but that’s where things go south. Today we order 2 to go meals and one of the office staff volunteered to pick it up. After she paid and as she was leaving she looked in the bag and saw only 1 boxed lunch. Not knowing what we had ordered she went back to the register and asked because she didn’t think we would be sharing one item. Turns out the forgot an entrée sized chicken Cesar salad with extra chicken no crutons. Back the office the lunches are dulled out and the salad has crutons and is the smaller side salad. $ 13 for a salad with a handful of green and tons of crutons! La Madeleine please get it together!!! Now to be fair, when we go to eat in everything is usually perfect. I just don’t recommend ordering to go from this location.

La Mad is one of my favorites for some light French style eats. I love the Chicken Friand as well as the Tomato Basil Soup. Their salads are fresh and their pasta dishes are also delicious. To finish things off, stop by the pastry counter and enjoy any one of their tasty desserts, they’re ALL good! Or swing by for coffee and pastries anytime of day. Don’t forget to sign up for their rewards program to get a free pastry on your birthday.

This is kind of like a dressed up cafeteria. Don’t be fooled by the name — it’s no french café. They have pre-prepared salads and sandwiches and pasta salads. A few hot dishes. But really it’s about picking up a tray and getting in line for some quick(albeit mediocre) food. Salads are sopping in dressing, but they do the trick. Tomato soup is a bit salty, but then again I wasn’t expecting fantastic cuisine. Service is hit or miss. But the price is right. It’s family friendly and there’s a changing table in the women’s restroom(not sure about the men’s).

La Madeline has always been a place for my family to go to simply share a meal and a few conversations together. It has a really homey atmosphere with many small conversations circling around the perimeter of the restaurant. Each time I come, I order the same things. For some reason, their creamy tomato soup never gets old. Since I don’t eat much, I sometimes order the kids menu pasta which also comes with a cookie! But from time to time I would get their sandwich, soup, and salad combo with the chicken croissant sandwich or the tuna sandwich, tomato soup, and the caesar salad. The portion sizes are quite normal and fill you up pretty well. They also have many different types of desserts and bakery items that will cause you to drool over them. Their bakery items always look so fresh and taste like they just came out of the oven. I love to share a chocolate croissant with my mom each time we go over a cup of tea and coffee. Their cakes are simply divine as each one will satisfy your sweet tooth. My all time favorite would have to be the Sacher Torte as it is a delectable chocolate cake. All in all, this is a good place to just share conversations over good food. Though a bit pricy, the authentic french taste is worth every penny.

This place is awesome! Stopped in for an early breakfast and ordered the French Country dish. It comes with delicious potato side, a freshly baked(on location) croissant and two eggs. Everything was perfect! They play classical music and the atmosphere is perfect. If you are looking for a casual meal this is the place.

I love this chain restaurant, and I’m not a chain restaurant fan. I ordered the strawberry bacon salad with chicken. They add all the ingredients and toss them in front of you in a bowl. I ordered a side of pasta salad Served at room temperature, and the flavors were so great. The Lorraine Quiche is my fav! Salty goodness in a pie shell is so satisfying! Order it and you won’t regret it!
