It’s my fault for even stoping here. I totally know that this is, far and away, the worst Kroger in the area and I passed another Kroger before I got to this one. I just needed a couple of things to make dinner and thought how easy it is to get in and out of the parking lot during rush hour. I should have just gone a couple of blocks down to the HEB.

ZEROSTARS… One of the worst Kroger’s in Houston, and that’s saying something. It’s turned into a low-class store, with untidy parking lots, floors, check out areas, produce that looks like it fell off the truck, and meats that may have been cut with a chainsaw. Also, the shelves aren’t stocked frequently enough, boxes holding the cans still on the shelves, and lots and lots of outdated groceries(check out the dips and cheeses). I used to think of Aldi as a low cost store that caters to the lower class consumer, but they are nothing compared to this store. They have a door that they choose to lock, presumable because of thefts, on weekend mornings, so you have to use just the one door at the other end. Then when you do, the baskets are at the locked doors area. They never have small carry baskets at the doors, since they are stacked up at the check yourself out lane. The kids they have for bagging are useless. In the past year, I was asked for money from someone in the store while I was shopping, and watched two guys drinking beer on the curb outside the door.

It seems like the customer service gets worse every time I come here! Some of the cashiers are very rude and will not speak to you… And the people who sack are terrible! They don’t doublesack heavy items and they constantly put wet items with dry items! The manager seriously needs to teach these people manners and how to sack groceries… And stop putting the six packs of cokes on the side of the carts because that’s really stupid!

If I could give it zero stars I would. The I guess supervisor at the front(big African American woman) with a red vest that says customer service 1st should really says customer service 2nd. Not only does she not know customer service she belittled another cashier in front of many customers. Made me angry enough to complain to corporate.

I have to agree with another reviewer about the meat. I’ve seen some pretty disgusting meat cuts out in the discount section. And there is just not a lot of meat selection here. I would go somewhere else for meat but if you are here you might find something just because you’re there. The fruit section also just seems to be lacking and by far not as good as HEB down the st. The most annoying part of this Krogers which isnt really the stores fault I guess but the parking lot sucks. Drive it and you will know. Just seems to be too small. Its better to park around the corner of the store where there seems to be a higher chance of getting mugged or robbed. The only reason I come here is when I am passing by. If there werent 100 annoying lights to drive a bit further down hwy 6 to HEB that is where I would go instead.

Kroger should be embarrassed of the produce and meat they sell. This particular Kroger has horrible customer service as well. A couple years ago I use to shop here all the time but the service and quality of food keeps getting worse and worse so I started only going when they would send me the coupons with free things. NOW I WONTEVENGOATALLEVENIFTHEYDOSENDMECOUPONSFORFREEITEMS because that’s how bad the customer service is. Numerous times I have gone there and the checker did the entire transaction without even saying 1 word or looking at me. And if you ask them a question they either ignore you or just look at you funny. Their yogurt is always out of date(well every time I have shopped there) and I tried to mention it to the checker and they didn’t care. I highly suggest someone from corporate come to this store and either shut the doors completely(because that’s where this store is headed anyway) or fix the problems fast.

I usually love this store but I have a serious complaint. I just had to check $ 230 worth of my own groceries because the only thing open after 10 o’clock were self checkouts. Riley, the employee working the area was polite, but completely swamped with lines & customers. 24 hours doesn’t mean that crappy service is acceptable after 10:00PM. During the day this store motivates customers and employees with bells at each register to show that you had good service. There are no bells at this time of night. And it’s pretty early.
