Average pastries with great service. If you’re unfamiliar what a kolache is, and you don’t get a chance to get one at the Czech stop in West, Texas(which is actually on the eastern side of the state), they are these awesome pastries filled with jam or meat and cheese or veggies that for some reason are only sold in Texas and west Louisiana. Kolache factory’s are good in the sense that any chain is good — but they aren’t as soft, flaky and fresh tasting as a mom and pop kolache spot or a local baker might make. Did I enjoy them a lot still? Absolutely. Go enjoy a Kolache.

The staff always greet you, on the other hand some of the employed got really bad attitude. Just over stupid question I asked if they have any salt and the employee looked at me like am an idiot or something, I ordered 8 Colotchie’s and she gave me 3 napkins 4 «tomato sauce»? And I asked for some more and all she gave me one extra. I am not complaining about the food, food is always tasty. But I still think they could do better!

Consistently good service, and the line was never that long. The ladies here were always friendly and nice. I always got coupons in the mail, so I’d get a buy 3 get 3 free deal. Definitely made the price worth it :). I LOVE the Ranchero Kolache. It’s really one of the only reasons to come here. All other kolaches pale in comparison. Otherwise, you might as well just go to Shipley’s for a good regular kolache.

I was in the area and it was after 1:30, so I thought to go get some half off kolaches. The store was empty and had about 50 left. Well I ordered 4 and was charged at regular price. I said I thought they were half off after 1:30. She goes, oh you have to order a dozen. I told her I had never heard of that rule but if that’s the case she could keep them. Who wants a dozen of kolaches at 1:30pm if they were cooked at like 8 am. I’m good!!! It felt like she was just making it up because she was getting tongue tied trying to explain it to me. I get the feeling those left over kolaches will make a re-appearance for tomorrow’s breakfast rush. There are way too many kolache places in Houston to be bothered with this location.

I don’t honestly understand the hype over Kolache Factory. There are some kinds that I get here that are amazing, no doubt. But a good number of them I don’t find appealing whatsoever. Obviously, that’s just y opinion. But, there’s something about their kolaches that just doesn’t hit the spot for me. I love their ranchero and Texas hot. I will continue going just for these.

I own a professional tree service near Briarforest and Beltway 8 which is much closer to other Kolache Factory locations. My wife and I will drive past all of the other locations to come to this one. The service at this location is better by far. The ladies that work here are always nice and friendly. The coffee is so much better that we quit buying Starbucks coffee and actually come here from the Beltway 8. Great customer service means a lot to a business. Great job!

This is a really tough review to write. Why? Because one of my favorite food joints of all time is Waco’s own Czech Stop, which is the heaven of all heavens when it comes to kolache’s: With that in mind, there was no way Kolache Factory, a chain, could compare, but I will say it holds it’s own to the degree possible. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? Pretty quick and painless. Walk up, take your pick from an impressive sweet and savory selection, have them warm it up, and boom. You’re good to go. Service is fast and friendly, and the layout of Kolache Factory is comfortable enough to hang out for a bit. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $ 1.69 to $ 2.00 for a kolache? Fair. Have a look: Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Good? Yes. Great? Not quite. First and foremost, the ‘shell’ was a tad bit thick, and imposed a bit on the quantity of filling. As for the quality and selection, while not even close to what you’ll find at Czech Stop, it was suitable, with great savory options including brisket and pepperoni to fruit and cream cheese that are impressive. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? It’s good, and will satisfy a craving, but I can’t say it’s my favorite kolache shop. No Star Granted.

Hmm I have mixed reviews on this one, but I have to say the service was not really good. I think the lady probably thought we were cheap because we had coupons to come here. I have to admit it was a steal though, we got 8 kolaches for $ 6.00 so breakfast was cheap, it was a buy one get one free. We got the kolaches cold unfortunately as they did not heat them up. I would go back though and have some again.
