In town for about a month and needed haircut. The haircut wasn’t that great. I didn’t know what clipper guard I normally use and it felt like I wasn’t going to get a haircut if I didn’t come up with a number. Neck massage did feel very good.

I was shocked at the the un-professionalism from the manager there, and if the person running the day to day here is bad you can imagine the rest. I made an appointment at 6pm got there at 6:02 pm and they told me they could not see me anymore. I was a little upset, but no biggie right, so I waited, and they were all just chatting away doing nothing, when I asked if they were waiting on someone else the manager said she was waiting for her next appointment at 6:30pm! and it was 6:07 or so, then I got really mad and left. But I gave them another chance a few weeks later and again they told me no one was available at the time(I just walked in this time) no big deal I should have made an appointment but again they were not working on anyone just chatting away turning walk-ins away… I finnaly got a hair-cut there and it was the worst experiance ever! bad attitude, bad hair cut, bad conversation, bad smells, trashy gangset looking girls… Never again! I wont recommned this place to anyone.

This was featured on a Groupon a while back, and I took advantage of the opportunity for $ 10 haircuts. I’ve been twice now. I don’t know what Sam V experienced, but it sounds like he was in a bad mood. Yes, the girls do wear«skimpy» clothes, but it’s not hooters. Generally pretty short skirts or shorts, but not as bad as the orange shorts, and in both cases the women were wearing baby-doll t-shirts, not tank tops, so don’t worry. His lap-dance comment to my mind was more wishful thinking than useful critique. The haircut was well done, felt like it was a half-step above a SportsClips, and on the second visit, she noticed things about my hair that I have noticed for years and always had to ask to have fixed. She didn’t have to ask, she saw it, asked me abut it, and proceeded to fix it better than I’ve had done in a long time(specifically, the transition from a 1 guard on the side to the fade up to the top creates a weird point in my hair on the right side of me head). Finally, what sold me was the hot shaving cream and the straight razor neck trim. Guys, if you’ve never had this done, you are truly missing out. Most hair places cannot do this because of licensing, so this is one way that Knockouts separates itself from the pack. On my second visit, I decided to give the massage a try.(By the way, they do massages, waxing, manicures, pedicures, all aimed at men). It wasn’t the best massage I’ve gotten, but it was significantly better than anything I’ve ever received at Massage Envy, and the price was about the same. The only thing I’ve had that was better is, in all honestly, the best masseuse I’ve found, but she’s twice the cost. Worth a try if you like massage. My only concern is the price. If not for the Groupon, I don’t think I would continue to go. The price of their other services are all relatively reasonable, but he haircut prices are $ 5-$ 7 higher than a SportsClips. It’s certainly a better environment than a SportsClips, and the straight razor makes a big difference, but I don’t think I can justify their price every three weeks. This is a good once a quarter place for me.

Not impressed at all. In my search of looking for a new place to get my haircut I ran into this place. I took a photo of the hairstyle I wanted(a medium length messy look cut) to avoid trying to explain how to cut it. The first cut she took off my head was WAY too short. She didn’t even bother to ask if that length was ok before chopping it off. It was as if she had her mind set on how she was going to cut my hair before I even sat down. She completely ignored what I had asked for. I was so mad after that it made the rest of the cut awkward and uncomfortable. To top it off the girls that were in there weren’t good looking. I will NEVER go back to this place.

Okay, so I kinda suckered myself into this one. Chalk it up to good old-fashioned naïveté and the place being right next to a Sun N Ski Sports! I’d driven by here before and noticed the sign and thought, «Oh, interesting, looks like a SportClips». Not. The idea here is a hair salon with a Hooter’s angle. So the«stylists» are dressed in skimpy outfits — which, quite frankly, made me somewhat uncomfortable given I was just there to get my hair cut and not a lap dance or hot wings. All in the comfort of a a boxing gym environment. The good news was there was not a soul here when I walked over to the place — and being the impatient man I am, things were looking up! That should have been a warning sign, though First, they ask for my phone number. Note to every damn business I will ever patron — I will NOT give you my damn phone number unless you’re my doctor or bank, so quit asking for it! Next, they offer me a soda, water or — get this — a beer. Nice touch! Then all over the place there are tv’s playing crappy tv reality shows and sports I’m not interested in — I could have changed the channel, but I didn’t really care. The gal that cut my hair was very nice, but way too timid. She was concerned she’d take too much hair off — even after I assured her it would grow back if she did. Kind of reminded me of the barbershop scene in Monty Python’s Flying Circus.(«I never wanted to be a barber, I wanted to be — a LUMBERJACK!») She was trying hard to make small talk, but I wasn’t in the mood after fighting traffic on my way home from the Galleria… To top it off, it was pricey for my standard 15 dollar in-and-out barbershop trim. $ 27 for the cut and wash(which I wasn’t asked if I wanted, but I could’ve stopped them if I didn’t). With tip, over thirty bucks for a marginal trim. Not worth it. I can’t see this place staying in business very long for a lot of reasons. Not least of them being the price/performance value. Next time I’m in Hooters, I’m going to see if I can get a haircut.
