buddy of mine brought me here over the weekend and all i can say is «wow.» my only experience with meat pies before this weekend has been with various Jamaican restaurants in Dallas so I’d come to expect a certain type of meat pie, but this was totally different, welcomed change from the norm. the meat is seasoned very well and would go great with anything, but when paired with the absolutely delicious shell, its outstanding. the shell has a taste and texture that reminds me of a cross between a chicken pot pie puff pastry shell, and a fresh baked buttermilk biscuit. Flaky, buttery, chewy, yet still somehow staying rather light in its flavor and how it actually settles. Most pastries leave me feeling weighed down, but somehow this did not. Other items we had were the beef suya which while surprisingly spicy, was a great treat, a plantain snack that was salty, spicy and sweet, and another snack called chinchin which i believe is probably made from APF, water, sugar and possibly eggs. Anyway, that was pretty solid too. Overall, between the service and the food, this place is a 5-star in my book.

So I’ve heard so much about kings way bakery and their famous meat pie and Suya so when our family relocated from NYC to Houston I was like I have to see what the frenzy is all about… Well I wasn’t disappointed… The Suya is delicious I mean I bought 20 and ate 10 sticks all by myself and I felt like I should have get more because my husband after saying that he won’t eat it rate half of it! The meat pie is juicy like really good. I’m not judging the joint based in their overall look because that’s not the point it’s not really a sitting type restaurant so then again u can’t point that and base your reviews on it! So way to go I will definitely go back to get more Suya and meat pie! Good job
