King Buffet

$ 6.99 all day buffet. Carpet was dirty and trash on the floor. The food was pretty greasy overall but the black pepper chicken was ok. The waitress gave pretty good service.
I won’t be back.

I heard a lot of good things about this place so I decided to try out this buffet with my boyfriend and some of his family and our roommate. What I can say for sure is that the food is mediocre at best. The service was ok, it could’ve been better for the most part.
The desserts was the best part of the meal. Also, the price is also good too. Make sure you don’t waste anything, they’ll charge you 50% more on your tab (so stupid). I might come back sometime in the future. Overall, this is not my favorite buffet.

MANAGEMENT CHANGE: BEST BUFFET THERE IS IN THIS AREA!!! Forget all of the negative reviews you have read up until this point, King Buffet really make a name for themselves when they change management: great service (i love the waitress — super friendly), awesome food (this coming from an «Asian level» picky eater like myself — check my history, i rarely comment but I HAVE TO COMMENT on this one) and the food keeps coming up all fresh and delicious even doe they come close to closing hour. For a $ 7.99 all you can eat price, this is the best little spot whenever you crave for some Asian heaven-​ness

Food taste great. Neat facility. Decent staff… amazing price. Large size… Spacious. They cleaned the tables and chairs after each guest. I liked it. So did my husband.

Wow. I don’t know why I came after seeing the reviews, but I did. This place is really bad. Really really bad. Even my kid was disappointed and her expectations aren’t very high. I didn’t have one item that was actually hot. Everything was below room temperature. The salad bar was laughable. It had a pile of iceberg lettuce and some carrot shreds. Not a tomato in sight. I wasn’t confident enough in the establishment to even try the seafood. They had two things that tasted like ketchup, but I believe one of them was supposed to be cocktail sauce. Awful. Awful awful! Go to Panda Express and at least you know what to expect there.

In all honesty, this place is no different than the other local Chinese buffet’s. The food is decent, the price is AMAZING, and my kid’s LOVE eating here, simple! Why pay almost $ 10-​$ 12 for a buffet that is no better than the $ 6.99 buffet?! The staff are friendly as well! We enjoy eating here!

I gave it a 2 cause it had sushi, the rest of the food you can tell its left over and it’s something to expect for 6.99, but hey it’s 6.99 what do you expect.

There’s a sign that bothers me, «We have the right to charge you 50% more on your ticket if you waste a lot of food «well if it’s nasty and disgusting then of course we’re going to force our self to eat it. I’m sure most people understand to not waste food.
They also take forever to bring the crawfish tray out each time they refill it because they know my grubbing self and others take a lot. Literally

I’ve yet to find a decent Chinese buffet on this side of town (call me picky), but my husband wanted me to try it so I gave it a chance. I went in with lowered expectations, which was probably for the best because the food was sub-​par. Nothing fresh, all over-​salted, and our server didn’t bother to come by to refill our drinks at all. Guess I need to keep looking…

If I can rate this restaurant 0 point, I will immediately do it.
Food: I am Asian and love Asian food but the food here I’d say it’s not Asian food. The smell and taste are disgusting. Seafood are not fresh, crawfish in general I bet was stored at least a week or so (just not fresh). Most of them were cooked too greasy and stinky. They don’t even refill the food when it’s empty. I tried as much as I can and I can only bite one piece and dump the rest. It was horrible.
Server: my server was kind but lack of responsibility. I stacks a pile of dishes and he still going around ask me if everything okay. Yes, it is okay, but please clean my table.
Never comeback.

If I could rate this place 0 stars, I absolutely would.
The food was absolutely disgusting, the service poor, and the building dirty.
My boyfriend is a former U. S Marine who’s eaten nothing but MRE’s for 7 months before and he even gagged while trying to down some stuffed mushrooms.
The signs everywhere claiming that they would charge 50% extra for wasting food topped the experience off since most of the food was literally not edible.

I was really hoping for some tasty Chinese buffet but I was sadly let down. The carpet is filthy and the place smells. I’m not quite certain why I agreed to stay and eat here but it was against my better judgement. I got one plate and ate a few bites of green beans, mixed vegetables, egg roll, lo mien, general tso and a roll. All but one bite out of each are still on the plate. The roll tasted stale along with the lo mien — everything had an off taste and was cold by the time I sat down which leads me to believe the temperatures are not correct on any of the food.
Move on down the road if you want something that tastes good.

You get what you pay for… Food selection was poor at the time of my visit, the place only had one waitress (nice, but slow due to the circumstances I guess). The young guy working as a host was on the phone discussing personal stuff while I was trying to pay, not that I cared that he was on the phone, but being polite and make eye contact with customers could help with the disappointment of the visit.

You get what you pay for… No wow factor for me.
Tastes different than the original Chinese buffet taste all other buffets have. Don’t know if in a good way. Their food tastes like it has been frozen for a long time.
Kind staff. Clean.

I only come back here because of the $ 5.99 all day buffet deal. The food selection is very minimal. The Canada crabs of course are not available anymore after they run the $ 5.99 deal. I can’t even find enough food to fill up my first plate, but it’s alright. You get what you pay for!

This is why so many Chinese Buffet go out of Business or don’t get repeated customer…
1. If you’re going to have a Sushi Bar, then serve Real Sushi!!! Don’t just put a couple of plates with fake crabs and seaweed roll and call that Sushi!!! My 4 year old daughter got upset with your selection.
2. If the hours between lunch and dinner is slow, and I’m pretty sure it is, why don’t you shut it down and prepare fresh food for you dinner crowds… The fries, eggrolls, biscuits, shrimp were cold and stale. The TSO, chicken brocolli, pepper steak?, all had the starchy layer on them like no one had touch them for awhile.
3. This one got me so upset, I was going to bitch out the owner… The Snow Crab Legs!!!
If you’re going to advertise snow crab, then give ppl snow crab. Bringing out 4 cluster every 30 – 40 minute does not justify as serving crab legs! You should just get rid of the crab legs out of your menu!
BUT that is not the reason why I’m so mad!!!
You intentionally soak the crab legs in heavily salted water… I have had my fair share with snow crabs, from 30lbs case at HEB, Tokeyo One, China Bear… And I have never once had snow crab that salty. I try it twice to give you benefit of doubt, but Shame on You for pulling such a stunt.
1 star cause i feel bad for your waiter and waitress to have such a bad boss.

I’m the manager for king buffet here. No fans there is not thing like what he is saying was happening here because this place is Clean here and if there are something like that happened why don’t he come back to us and let us know or call the Health department

Place gave me food poisoning and the food isn’t even that great… So just keep driving untill you see China v star for some good food.

We’d been going to the Mongolian place about a mile north of King Buffet, but it was closed due to remodeling — probably fixing the sewer smell in the foyer! So we tried KING BUFFET. Walking up to it, it wasn’t very fancy looking, but at least the foyer didn’t stink like the competition. However once we entered the restaurant proper, it was very clean-​looking, and the food looked enticing and fresh.
I LOVED the King Crab Legs, the boiled shrimp was great too. The smothered mussels were soft, unlike Mongolians, and they had both large and small mussels — I preferred the smaller ones smothered with Pico de Gallo type sauce (even if I wasn’t expecting that flavor in an Asian restaurant). And it’s been years since I’ve had a candied rib that was soft, yum!
Hubby said General Tso chicken was both more flavorful, and also not hard and over-​cooked, like at Mongolian.
The sides we enjoyed: Green beans much softer than Mongolian’s, and actually had a «green bean» flavor, probably because the sauce wasn’t as heavy as Mongolians. Mushrooms were good. Hubby did not like the fried rice though — I didn’t try it, but maybe if they made the rice with a strong stock, then added a bit of sesame oil, hubby might have liked it better.
They had a little sushi area with a nicely stocked condiment area, but the sushis were not labeled, like I prefer, since I can’t tell them apart just by sight.
They did not have sesame balls, but the little candy «rocks» with nuts were quite tasty.
Overall, we’ll be returning to King Buffet instead of Mongolian — if it does reopen.
