Poor customer service. Horrible restroom. Men’s room doesn’t have door lock or even a door knob. Waitstaff is rude, lazy and disrespectful. Gives small amounts of vegetables even though requested more. Forgot to make coffee and short on cups of water. Auto gratuity on table on 7 which they didn’t deserve a penny. The restaurant was at 20−30% capacity for a reason.

I think this place have the best hu tieu in the area and the price is decent. The place is clean enough and the service is ok; don’t expect more then just taking your order, bring your food, then clean your table AFTER you get up to leave.

I came here to eat before work and I was greeted fast. I wanted to order ngoc dua with my bun bo hue, but they didn’t have that or che. I was disappointed but still ordered the bun bo hue. The soup was delicious and I liked it because it didn’t have cha hue(not a fan of that). Instead of cha hue, they had lots of beef to make up for it.

The won ton mi with hieu tieu dai(large egg noodles with the clear noodles) was mediocre and the broth wasn’t the best, but wasn’t bad. Some of the wontons were hard to digest.

I rarely go to Houston restaurants multiple times because there are so many restaurants to try and new place that are always popping up — but this is probably one of my Vietnamese food staples. They are known for their bun cha which is not too bad; it has more of a ground pork texture to it than pork cuts, but it was pretty good(nothing compared to the bun cha in Hanoi though). Their Banh Khot is GREAT though and their vegetables that come with all the dishes are very fresh and thoroughly cleaned. I had never had Hu Tieu before but it was recommended, and I really liked it — getting 2 types of noodles was good too — normally you have to have the inside scoop to be able to order it, but I was glad I finally got to try it! The broth was good and MSG free; I was a huge fan. Service is very fast and they are attentive to what you need. English is not as strong, but there is one guy in their that speaks stronger english than the rest. I enjoy that they’re open all day for people like me who sometimes stroll in for very late lunches(3−4pm), but no matter what time I come in, there’s always at least 1 other table that is there which is promising. It is in a more abandoned plaza — that is the only place I go to within it but there are large signs that make it easy to find.

I visited this place with high hopes after reading the Unilocal reviews, but I had just a terrible experience top to bottom. First of all, the service was atrocious. There is no organization to the place. The servers were running around without any rhyme or reason. They were really clueless, inefficient, and pretty incompetent all around. When I arrived around lunchtime, there were only a few other tables. I was seated promptly, but the server didn’t give me a menu. I looked around and no one paid attention, so in the interest of time, I got up to get a menu myself. No big deal. But then things just got progressively worse. It took several minutes for someone to come take my order. I asked for a «bun cha hanoi» and an iced tea. And then I waited. Another solo diner came in after me, she was seated, given a menu, and within minutes she had her iced tea. I had arrived more than 10 minutes before her, was seated in the middle of the dining room, but they hadn’t even brought me my water. Finally the server brought a cup of water. I told him I had ordered iced tea. He tried to take away the water, but I told him to just leave it, a good thing, because the Iced tea never materialized. Then my bun cha hanoi came. The small dish with the meat was pretty good, the flavors were on point. The pickles were a nice touch. Everything else was not good. The noodles were overcooked and clumped together. The vegetables that came on the side were SOAKING wet. When I held up a piece of lettuce, water dripped from it in droplets. I had to get several napkins to soak the dripping water off of my lettuce. The herbs were clumped together and a few bites tasted unclean so I had to spit it out. Ugh. It literally looked like they had taken a bunch of greens and shoved it on the plate. I looked around and it wasn’t just me – everyone was in the same boat. The restaurant had filled up at this point. I saw a table of ladies waiting to order flag down one server, who nodded and then went the other direction. Then they flagged another server who nodded and went in the other direction. Seriously, the service was some of the worst I’ve ever had, and I know the drill at Asian restaurants. This was beyond bad. To top it all off, I was overcharged at the end, but didn’t really think about it to question it when it was happening. When I went to pay, the guy at the cash register said 9.95. I told him I had placed a to go order of noodles(which weren’t ready). He said he’d get it out really fast for me, which he did. But then he ended up charging me more than $ 20, which is strange, because the noodles were only $ 7.50. I understand there’s tax, but how does $ 9.95 + 7.50 + 8.25% tax = $ 20++? It doesn’t. It’s just a few dollars, but it’s the principle of it. My experience couldn’t have been worse. I typically don’t relish writing negative reviews, but this was egregious. I will never go back.

Not my favorite hu tieu place. The white rice noodles were too mushy and they did not have enough of that flavorful brown sauce that goes on the dried hu tieu. They did have a container full of fried onions to sprinkle over your food, so I loved that. Lastly, the service was great. They accidentally messed up an order and immediately fixed the problem. They didn’t blame the customer(which is the norm in Asian restaurants).

I just had the won ton mi with hieu tieu dai(large egg noodles with the clear noodles). The noodles were good as usual! The soup was a tad bit salty but not enough where I felt I was gonna die. My only complaint of why it became a 3 star was because the won tons were SO dry. The meat was poor quality and over cooked. I literally felt each piece of meat spread out in my mouth as I chewed it. I really do love this restaurant but man that won ton wS a disappointment.

One of the dozens of Vietnamese restaurant in the Sharpstown area, come here for your fix of bun cha(Hanoi style). The bun cha here took me back to the small alleyways of Hanoi, squatting at a tiny table while the pork was grilled a few feet away from me and stifling me with smoke from the grill. This bun cha is definitely authentic. A plate heaping with veggies and herbs is served with a bowl of your grilled pork and pickled onions/carrots in a dipping sauce-soup, with crushed peanuts sprinkled on top. The vermicelli noodles aren’t as chewy as I would like and break apart too easily, but all the other players in the symphony of the dish were so delicious that it didn’t impact my overall perception.

Best Vietnamese soups with an authentic, home-cooked taste. Some soup places cut corners on the broth and you can tell. Not Kim Phat! Broth is flavorful and not fatty. They must do a good job skimming off the top. Servers speak broken English so fortunately the menu has pictures. Food is fresh, fast, and at a good price. Soup is always steaming hot. I actually prefer their other specialty soups over their phở. Try it out!

This place is pretty good but I honestly think they use a lot of msg. after our meals I feel super super thirsty like I ate a bunch of salt or something… I personally enjoy the bbq pork spring rolls so this is the reason why I come back. The service is kinda horrible especially when they are busy. the prices are okay. I do enjoy the plentiful fresh Vietnamese herbs/veggies they give you to eat with your meal. The food has good flavor but I think it’s because of the msg. I will be back simply because they have good bbq pork spring rolls with very yummy peanut sauce.

I was actually trying to go somewhere else to eat bun rieu but I found out that the place closed down. :(anyways, so since I was already in the plaza, I said why not. It’s a cold day, I want some warm soup. I ordered bun rieu here and it was good! Craving satisfied. And they aren’t stingy on their portion either. I ordered hot soy bean milk as well but I don’t think that their soy bean milk is homemade which I really like the homemade ones. Next time I’ll try the hu tieu.

My wife and I went here on a Sunday morning. We entered the joint(because calling it a «restaurant» would be an insult to other restaurants), and grabbed an empty table. We waited for a waiter, and we waited for a waiter, and we waited for a wait anybody. About 10 minutes later, a FOB(fresh off the boat) young man approached our table and handed the«blessed» menus. We ordered Hu Tieu Nam Vang khô, and we waited again. Finally, our food came without any accompanying veggies like lime wedges or sliced pepper or anything. So, we waited, and we waited. They somehow forgot our drinks which we did not dare to remind anyone lest it be dusk before we get them. By now readers will get the idea for that food and service do not coexist in this joint. What about the food you may ask? Well, I elected not to swallow my shrimp because it has the funky smell of putrid seafood. I stood up to pay for our food and went to Jack-in-the-Crack across the corner. No, I will not return nor will I recommend this joint. Its service rivals the quality of its food.

This was THEBEST hu tieu I’ve had in the US! Second only to a small restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City. And, if you like gio heo(pork hocks), it’s prepared perfectly here! Yum…

The soups aren’t too bad. It was better back then. The spring rolls with the BBQ pork is delicious! Service sucks. Typical asian restaurant. They take your order and they are done with their job. Won’t give you any refills or bring any condiments that you need. You have to wave them down for every little thing. And even then they chose to ignore you.

After trying some bad Asian food recently, my family was craving for some noodles. True, there’s hundreds of noodles places we could’ve gone to in Bellaire, but we chose Kim Phat since we’ve hadn’t visited it for a while. So with our party of four, we went. Upon stepping inside, I could see they’ve changed their décor. The tables were rearranged differently than the last we went, and they’ve updated on their menus too. We ordered the Hu Tieu Mi(two of us asked for the soup version, two of us asked for the dry version with the soup on the side). I don’t know if the food’s always been good or if my taste buds were rusty from bad Asian food, but the noodles were really good. The broth was rich and savory. As we began to finish our bowls, a waitress came out to refill the waters(we weren’t the only ones dining). From experience, some Asian places don’t even do that so that was a real treat. The bathrooms were scary as usual, but it’s at the Bellaire area so what can you do? Stars: 4 Recommendations: Hu Tieu Mi and the beef rice plate(it was tasty from what I recalled from past experiences…)

Let me set the context for this review. We had a large group of 14 for late lunch Sunday afternoon. The place was only quarter full but with our large group, the place was half full. We ordered the typical appetizers and mix of rice and Phở dishes. What was disappointing was that there were 3 different servers taking orders at different times and even though one of our friends spoke fluent Vietnamese to the servers, they got the orders wrong. I felt bad because the servers were hustling/running back and forth to correct the orders and the worst part of it all is that they totally forget my order, simple Phở and eggrolls. It was obvious they were not organized, even for a «mom and pop» shop. The food is typical of Vietnamese restaurants but since we wanted a variety, it met our needs. Only catch is they don’t have fried rice, something our young boys usually order from«Asian» restaurants but hey, it’s Vietnamese so they ordered one of the broken rice dishes. Rating: * Food taste and quality — average * Price and value — average, might be $ 1 more than comparable places * Service — poor, even for the low standard of Asian restaurants in Bellaire. Overall conclusion. It’s OK but there are so many other place to go.

Ordering was confusing, food was so so, and paying was even more difficult. So I’ve heard some good stories of the soup dish here and decided to stop in before golf. Out on the catwalk, proudly declaring special of the day(No clue what it was except it was some sort of soup with Oc-Snails.) 10 minutes after the order is placed, the waiter comes by and informs me that it is not ready. I pick a bun bo hua, and then the food comes out with in 30 seconds from changing the order? It was definitely not bad, nor was it anything that’s worth repeating. Then I had to teach the employees how to use the credit card machine. What a mess.
