This place is not only overpriced but also not very tasty… I have only gone here with coworkers who wanted to try it out, but would never go by myself after having had their food a few times. I would get the rice bowl with either chicken or falafel. And for a place called«just falafel», it is weird that the falafel is not very good. It’s a pretty small portion for about $ 10. What made the experience even worse was that I was charged $ 3.50 before tax for A CANNEDDRINK! That’s worse pricing than NRG or even Disney World. Good grief… Highway robbery for sure. Of all of the restaurants in Allen center, I am pretty certain that this place is the most expensive with worst tasting food. If you wanted anything Mediterranean, go up to the street level. There are better places up there.

Like others have mentioned, it is neither bad nor great. It is just ok. The meat is kinda dry and does not have enough juice or tenderness in them. The bread isn’t authentic arabic bread but some generic Tortilla variety. But I do like the quantity they serve plus their falafel which are good.

Their falafels are a treat. I am a huge fan of falafels and try falafel everywhere. This one would feature in the top 5 of my list(he list spans across a lot of cities in the US). The lentil soup is great too. I would have given 5 stars if the quantity was a little more.

Their obsession with portion control is really off putting. The assembly people are like robots. They seem to count grains of tabbouleh! I’m sure they’ll get in trouble if they offered even slightly more generous scoops, which means mgmt is instructing them to serve this way. But in business and life, you don’t cut off your nose to spite your face. They could have so many more repeat customers if they just relaxed a bit. Raise prices by $ 0.50 or $ 1 if you have to, that’s fine, but don’t make the customer feel he is on a bread/soup line in the Great Depression. Your approach reeks of low class. Watch your margins, sure, but not to the point where you watch your customers walk to another food vendor…

The food is great but the portions are small for the price being charged. Either increase your portions or decrease your price! We always have to ask for extras!

Loved it. Aggie owned, which was a plus! I had the original Falafel Wrap, but asked them to spice it up a bit and it was awesome. Will be back for sure.

To sum it up in one statement: it’s not terrible, but it’s not great. I got the feeling that the staff was just doing there job, not peppy like the Jimmy John’s staff across the Allen Center food court. The first time I went right when the first opened and I had the beef wrap. I was expecting to get pita style bread, but it is basically a tortilla, not what I wanted. It was just kind of bland and I put plenty on it. Today I had the rice bowl with chicken. It has been a few months since they opened so I figured they worked out all the kinks. Once again it was just okay. There is so much better middle eastern style food in Houston that blows this stuff out of the water. They also give you your toppings very sparingly. I sliced tomato, I think I got to small & thinly sliced pieces. Price is in line with what you pay for the sandwhiches as the other places down in the tunnels. Will I come back, no since there are so many other options in the tunnels and in the Allen Center food court.

It’s not bad… its not great, doesn’t matter what combination I get I don’t remember the tast too much. Been here a few times now and it hasn’t dissapointed me, but hasn’t wowed me either. You can choose bowl, with salad or rice or you can choose a burrito. 3 main proteins are Falafel, Chicken Schwarma, and Beef Schwarma. I have tried both the falafel and chicken thus far in salad bowls… and they are pretty decent… nothing to rave on about. I feel like though with the chicken they should offer a little more than they do.

For those of you looking for a place that beats chipotle… here we go! Amazing joint hidden in one allen center. I always get the build your own chicken bowl with rice, hummus and all the toppings with tzaziki sauce. Seriously, it’s so hearty and delicious! Definitely worth the money and it’s so healthy!

Came here recently and absolutely loved my shawarma salad. Lots of options to pick from. Although the line was long it moved very quickly. Very nice and attentive staff. If I worked in the area this would be my go to spot for lunch!

I absolutely love this place and am so glad it’s here! The staff is outstanding; always friendly and professional, and very knowledgeable about their products. I’m very impressed with them! I always do the Build Your Own Bowl with either rice or salad, depending on my mood. Normally I don’t consider anything a full meal unless there’s meat in it(hey, it’s Texas!) but after trying the chicken and beef, I have decided the falafel is the tastiest option and satisfies my protein craving. The food is totally customizable and I still haven’t decided which of their sauces is my favorite; I vacillate between the JP Special(a riff on a thousand island) and the tzatziki. The soups are tasty as well. Highly recommended!

Similar to chipotle. The wraps were much smaller but there were more variety of ingredients to pick from. Taste pretty good.

The chicken rice bowl is personally my favorite dish here and the Chipotle-style offering is a refreshing twist to classic Mediterranean food. Along with your standard fare(e.g. pickled cucumbers), the«modern» additions like avocado and feta cheese help create a flavor profile that makes for an enjoyable lunch in the middle of a dreary work day. The quality of the food is sometimes inconsistent, but that likely comes with the challenges of opening a new business. Don’t let that hold you back from trying this place out!

Cam back and got the wrap. And it was delicious!!! This time around I added more ingredients to my wrap and ordered some well seasoned fries! I think the workers are still trying to figure out their kinks, but they’re trying their best. This place seems super healthy with fresh ingredients. Add some mint to your wrap, and UGH it just tastes great. Also ask for the garlic sauce, simply delicious! Would come back for lunch :). Super quick and easy, came out to roughly $ 9.30. – Giving them a three, because I don’t think I added enough to my bowl the first time around. Will try again! This place is set up exactly like a Chipotle, you line up and order the wrap/bowl and select whichever ingredients you want in your meal. Once you’re done, then you pay roughly $ 8. I ordered the Original salad bowl, and I wish I added more ingredients to it! Even the girl making my bowl asked, «that’s it?», haha! The salad itself was pretty delicious with the tzatziki sauce. The falafel I felt, was a tad overcooked and I was a little bit disappointed in how small they were. If they’re the protein, I wish they gave me more :(. They placed 4(roughly) 50 cent sized falafels on each corner of the salad. The outside skin felt like it was in the cooker a little too long but tasted pretty good. I’d definitely come back, they’re just starting out and the taste was pretty good, but I need more falafel guys!

Into its 3rd week, unfortunately Just Falafel is still working out the kinks. I ordered a falafel bowl(essentially a falafel salad) with the standard mixins(versus the build-your-own option they had available). The employees were arranged in an assembly line, but there was confusion between them about who would prepare my order. When I received my bowl, it was missing a couple of the advertised ingredients, which was a little annoying but not enough to get back in line and have them correct it. Unfortunately, the falafel was just not good. I love falafel, so much that I’ve had it twice in the last week before this excursion. Just Falafel’s product was over-fried, dry and flavorless, and I would not eat them again unless they make some changes to their preparation. Despite what the name suggests, they do serve more than falafel(namely shawarma with beef or chicken), so I would be opening to trying one of their meaty options next time around. In fact, my coworker ordered a chicken shawarma, and seemed to enjoy his. But for a place with falafel in the name, they should really step their game up.

This place was the worst Falafel I ever had! Didn’t even know it was possible to mess up Falafel! They were very overcooked and flavorless. Tried two sauces, both were also flavorless. If your looking for real Greek, I would suggest going somewhere else.

I am a huge fan of Mediterranean food and I can honestly say that this place is delicious! There are a lot of options to build your own bowl(rice or salad) or shawarma wrap. The beef shawarma was really tasty, the roasted red pepper hummus and the sumac onions really kicked it up in flavor. I want to try everything on this menu and without a doubt will be going back very soon!

They opened Monday and I’ve been back three times. The beef is not like other Mediterranean food. Very fresh and lean. Not sitting on a spit for four days straight. Lots of options. I love the build your own beef wrap with their tzatziki and special chili sauce and the garlic spread. The best way to describe it is a fresher, higher quality, modernized Mediterranean restaurant. I would put this up there with the dumpling place in the park shops as far as best downtown lunch spots.

I could find myself eating here everyday! It’s in Allen center food court in the tunnel, so close to work and I love their falafels! They are crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. I ordered the rice bowl with falafels both times. First time the original, second I did build your own. I will continue to stick with the build my own option. I also LOVE the rice. It’s moist and would taste good by itself. Oh, the other thing I’m a fan of; the pickled cucumbers. Get those for sure. It’s not a pickle. It’s a semi-spicy pickled cucumber. I also got a side of roasted red pepper hummus. I wish they had fresh pita with the hummus instead of pita chips. Just a personal preference. I can’t have everything I want and it won’t stop me from ordering hummus to snack on mid-day.

So excited for this healthier addition to One Allen Center. I was warmly greeted and introduced to the ordering process which is similar to Chipotle. #1 Choose your vessel: Wrap or Bowl, if opting for bowl, you then have to choose between carb or not, aka rice or just salad. #2 Choose your protein: Falafel, Chicken, or Beef,(their meat is shaved right off the spit!) *$ 2.50 for Extra protein #3 How do you want your stuff to taste: If you don’t feel like decision making, you can opt for the ORIGINAL getting all the traditional street food toppings OR If you like to pick and choose, see #4. #4BUILDYOUROWN: –Choose a Spread: Hummus, Garlic Sauce, Olive Tapenade or Red Pepper Hummus –Choose your toppings: In addition to typical shredded lettuce, tomatoes, slaw mix, jalapeño, roasted corn, char grilled peppers, and onions, JF also offers radish, cucumbers 3 ways(salad, pickled, or plain), and my favorite herbs! Yes, I definitely suggest adding some mint and parsley as they are quite refreshing! *$ 1 extra you can add avocado and/or feta cheese. –Choose a sauce or dressing: Sauces: Chili, Salsa, Indian, Tahina, Tzatziki, JF Special Dressing: JF Lemon and Honey Mustard *$ 0.75 for extras Trying to be a bit healthy, I opted for the build your own falafel salad bowl with regular and red pepper hummus and a side of Tahina. I really liked how I was getting all my veggies in and enjoyed the crunch from the chickpea falafel! The falafel was well fried, and I was surprised to find out they use rice bran oil, so yay for no peanut allergies! I felt the falafel had a mild flavor by itself, but paired with some hummus and sauce it was good! Being their first day of opening, I feel like there is still room for improvement but tis the nature of opening a new establishment. They ran out of chicken when I got there an hour to close, but I was lucky to sample a bit and man it was good! The chicken was very tender and had a nice balance of flavor– savory, peppery, and had a nice acidity to it. I will definitely be back to explore more of their menu, and love the concept of Mediterranean food to go!
