I know reviewing and rating a fast food chain seems ridiculous, but stick with me here people! I live right up the road from this place, and while it was convenience at first I just enjoy this location SOOOO much! See Jack-In-The-Box is honestly the ONLY fast food chain that gives out a Veteran discount! To add to it this location is always clean and the staff is amazing! A few times I had multiple and separate orders. The forgot to add my Veteran discount to the second order a couple times. When they caught this error they compensated me with a free drink!!! They are really all about customer service at this particular location. If you’re a Veteran and want a great fast food experience take it from another Vet… this location deserves our business through their support of our community!

The best Jack that I’ve been to on the Eastside… I got the sirloin burger and it was actually delicious! Other Jack’s usually got my order wrong or the food was disgusting.. So THANKS Jack in the box on Telephone & Dumble for serving me an awesome burger!

What the heck am I doing reviewing a fast food restaruant, much less giving it four stars? It’s because this is probably the nicest Jack in the Box I’ve ever been to. Sitting at the corner of Telephone and Dumble, it’s obvious that the folks at corporate have their ear to the ground locally, because they completely tore down the existing structure and parking lot here and rebuilt this location from scratch. I’ve often thought that the East End is the next Houston neighborhood to begin revitalization, and apparently the folks at HQ or the franchise owners think so too, if they invested this much into one spot. How classy is this place? It has a freaking FIREPLACE, for goodness sakes. Yeah, you read right. I haven’t seen it lit, but it’s kind of an interesting, albeit odd, touch for a fast food joint. Everything is clean and fresh, and the staff was unusually friendly and responsive. I saw one counter worker listen patiently to a little ten-year-old boy decide whether or not the order on the counter was his and his mom’s – she helped him pick out the right number on the receipt he was holding and we exchanged a smile over his determination. Our food was out quickly and hot and one staff member wished us a good day as we were leaving. It doesn’t get five stars, because at the end of the day, it’s still a Jack in the Crack. Let’s not get too excited. But this is probably the first fast food place in Houston that actually feels like it has a bit of community pride. You’re a-ok, Jay in the Bee.
