We got the appetizer combo. It was good but I had better but I love the nuoc mam there. It’s so good. I had the bun rieu oc dac biet and hubby got banh canh tom cua gio heo. The bun rieu was pretty good. It had tofu, shrimp, rieu, cha, and a small bowl of oc on the side with a generous amount in it. Hubby wasn’t too fond with his banh canh because the broth tasted starchy from the noodle. I tried it and I agree. It was ok. Overall I would rate this place a 3.5 for the food. since the ladies there was nice, they deserve the 4star.

We came at an off hour on the weekend with no other customers. Ordered banh cuon thit nuong, special combination, bo luc lac, and house special dessert. Everything I ate tasted good, even though this is my 1st time to try this type of food. My favorite dish was the banh cuon since it had a lot of flavor. Apparently food from this region of Vietnam is known for being spicy so when you order the combination you will receive a bowl of diced peppers(including a few sliced habaneros!) to add to your fish sauce. This is one pepper you don’t see very often at asian restaurants! Service is poor, as with many of the asian restaurants on Bellaire… especially the ones like here where few non-asians frequent.

I ordered the #2 combo and banh bot loc la chuoi. My favorite dish was banh bot loc tran(which was part of the combo). It was so good. I would come back just to order it separately. The rest of the food wasn’t too bad.

My cousin took me here to try their banh beo. They serve a wet banh beo here, which is a first for me. They put this red creamy sauce on top of it. I actually prefer the dry one, and their banh beo is a little too thick for me. I also tried their banh khot, which I enjoyed but it was a little too oily. You can literally pour the oil out of the little yellow cups. Over all, it was okay but I like the banh beo and banh khot in California better.

This store is ridiculous. I placed the order for a friend around noon 8÷15÷2015 to order and pick up tomorrow 8÷16÷2015 at NOON. I ordered banh nam, banh bot loc and banh it ram for a friend of mine. It costs me closed to $ 280 total. Then my friend changed his mind and didn’t want to order that much. So I called back on the same day, just 4 hours after I placed the order and wanted to cut the order to just half. The problem was because I already paid full in advance. They said they can’t change the order because they already repair it. Repair what??? That sucks. Order for the next day. Bad customer service ever. My last and will stop order or come to their store again.

Went there today(been here many times), and I have to say, their quality is getting worst and worst. We had banh canh and bun thai. The broth is super sweet for both, And on top of that, their prices keep rising. Come on $ 13 for a bowl of banh canh(special of the day?)??? If you happened to go, don’t be fooled by their«speciality food board». This will be my last time back.

Tried mít hn, com thit nuong, banh cuon thit nuong, banh beo, was disappointed. Mít was ok. The rest was not good at all. Mi quang, and huong giang dac biet never came out. I cancelled it. Table was really sticky with sauce. Try not to touch it.

The rice cake dishes are excellent here and presentation is great. I had their bun rieu which was not at all tasty and others at the table had noodle soups that they didn’t like. Get the rice cake dishes.

I ONLY come here for their Com Hen — Baby clams w/Rice. This is because there’s not a lot of Viet places that serve Hue food — central Vietnamese food besides Bun Bo Hue — famous central soup. If you want to try other types of Vietnamese food, come here! Just be careful, because they can miss the mark sometimes. I’ve ordered the mi quang — vietnamese flat yellow noodles served with room temperature broth. And it was a — okay, would order if I get sick of Com Hen. While the Bun Bo Hue, was okay as well 3⁄5 but there’s Bun Bo Hue restaurant down the street who makes it better. Now the Com Hen! Is delicious, served with baby clams, apple slices, banana fiber, rice and a bowl of soup. Something very different from the other types of Viet dishes in my opinion. Service is quick, place is pretty clean. English may not be their strong suit, but they’re willing and hard working. Come here if you want to try dishes from the Central region of Vietnam! It’s cheap! Expand your Viet food horizons!

Honestly their food is really mediocre. However, if you’re in the mood for mi quang go here.

Asian places always get bad reviews even when the food is good. Three stars for an asian place means it’s good. I had five order of mi quang and one order of banh it mam thit Tom. They sure did hit the spot because I was craving for them. I got them for my family in Houston and they loved it. Mi quang had pork in it, slow cooked and it was perfect!!! Flavor was on point! They accept credit card but when I paid with a card, he asked if I had cash. He looked disappointed when I said no.

I thought this establishment shut down, but apparently it was relocated further away from Bellaire. I’m glad they’re back in business, because I am a fan of their food. The place is clean and the service is always great. My favorite dishes are the Banh Beo Tom Thit, It Ran and the Com Chien Tom. The food always comes out fresh, hot and consistent each time. Make note that they are closed on Wednesdays.

My grandma likes the bun bo hue and says it’s good but I just think it’s ok. They don’t give enough meat and the broth isn’t rich in flavor. I do taste the hint of spiciness but it seems kind of bland. Maybe I need to add more mam

Recently, my friends were in the mood for Hue Food. This is the middle region of Vietnam and specializes in specific dishes. We normally go to Nam Giao when we want dishes from this particular region, but for some reason they choose Thursday to be closed. So we opted for the next available Hue restaurant. This place does offer all of the Hue classics, but gosh is it a huge drop off from Nam Giao. The toppings just tasted off, and overall not correct. Many of the dishes lacked enough meat too. They do now take credit card though.

I love, love, love Vietnamese food, mainly banh beo, banh bot loc, and mi quang. I have been a loyal customers to HGH since I first discovered them about 10 years ago. I am a huge fan of their banh beo. Every time I am there I always over indulge and one order usually turn out to be 5 order and next thing I know, I am building the leaning tower of tiny banh beo plates. From old location to the new location, I still think it’s the best in town. To each their own, but this place is my personal favorite.

I’m so glad they relocate because this place is much more clean and decent. I love love love the banh beo:) I also liked a few other items on the items but I don’t know how to spell it in vietnamese lol… It’s definitely a hole in the wall.

Wish I read the reviews before I stopped by, so many things to try so little time. So this place is old, at least judging by the patina on the menu. They have no English speakers so you need to point to what other people are having and they all looked good. While I had no clue what I ate other than the Bun bo hua, there is always going to be room in my schedule to make another stop to try the sampler as the Previous Unilocaler suggested. As long as you have cash.
